lol, Z4Gaming is right... idk why it works, but it does! I just have an old AMD processor without the special driver to communicate better between the cores (so that I can play old games like UT99).

setting, in my case, the java process, to just one core (CPU0) lessens the lag immediately.

What I suspect is that when it runs on all cores, it takes resource away from your system, meaning your video card, your other system processes, and other stuff, making it slow, which can slow down how fast your video card refreshes it.

Of course it doesn't work. You're computer (like mine) works with two CPU's, not one.

And, that's not how it's suppose to work.

It inncedentily goes like this:

CTRL+ALT+Del->Right click on RuneScape-the massive on...->Select "Got To Process"->Set Priority->High/RealTime.

And, at that! He was still lagging. A lot.

So if it works for other people; you're just imagining it. Trust me. I know computers.

to open task manager on vista, press Ctrl, alt + delete, and you get a screen with shutdown options etc, at the bottom is "open task manager" =D

It makes your CPU dedicate more of its power to that application. You should be fine, I have never heard/experienced any problems with setting priority.
