@OmmytheDude The voice sounds like this because the voice actor didn't know if Derpy was male or female (during the recording sessions Derpy was never referred to as female by the rest of the crew). So she decided to go with a voice that could work for both male and female. It might get fixed in later episode , should Derpy ever talk again...

I am slightly disappointed about the whole "derpy" thing. I'm glad that they give their fans such attention and support with these shout outs but...
