  • man i should count how many times hugh gets socked by stephen in their sketches over the years

  • That's not Hugh that's a ninja on that wall...

  • Hang on, Rowan Atkinson was in this! Why did they cut him out? Stupid BBC, no sense of humor

  • @XxQueenOfLolagexX No... He never was?

  • @gustgriswold Oh waittaminute, nevermind

  • hugh's face goes through so many emotions when he plays a piano

  • OMG! SO THE LID STEALER HAS ATTACKED AGAIN!!!!!!!

  • noooo, they cut out rowan atkinson's bit

  • @GroovingPict What did he do? I'm a fan of his

  • were is the fucking lid

  • That is one angry jar. XD! I love this song sooo much. At a young age, Hugh learned simply to blend in. -To classic.

  • I love these two. And the lid.

  • this may be one of the most funny sketches I've ever seen... geniuses

  • Hugh's trying so hard not to laugh when Stephen's shouting at him. Such control. I'd be on the floor. In fact, I am on the floor.

  • This reminds me of Bert and Ernie from seasame street.

  • If anyone musically talented could do an extended remix of Where Is The Lid, my life would be complete. :oD

  • They're amazing on their own, but they were just genius together.

  • hahaha he has an obituary tribute made already!!! SOME FRIEND!!! "hugh was brought up in a working class home that his parents had specially built in the grounds of their Gloucestershire estate" LOL

  • WHERE IS DA WHERE IS DA WHERE IS DA WHERE IS DA LI-IIIIIID ♫

  • hugh lauries looks weird without a beard xD .....and a cane

  • I want what Stephen is wearing...

  • I really preferred Hugh when he was doing British comedy. I don't particularly like him as a serious American on "House".

  • Love this! Love when comedy and music come together

  • Where is the baseball bat?

Oh where is the baseball bat?

Oh where is the, where is the, where is the

where is the lii-I mean- baseball bat?!

    Does anyone know?

  • @CyanideSovereign Stop. No.

  • @dweedwee Problem?

  • Very funnny!

  • Same tune as America? I think so. :)

  • you can see him smile as steven starts to talk to him :')

  • stephen punches like a girl

  • you cut out the rowan "nigel" atkinson part.

  • There is no baseball bat, @BBCWorldwide ...just Stephen's fist in his stomach!!

  • I would have loved for him to keep singing just another 10 minutes. :D

  • it's my new lifetime goal to be able to play this song on piano.

  • He started as a Wall, & ended up as a whole House!!! :D:D

  • it's behind the sofa really.....

  • Mmmm, Nigel! :)

  • "HUGH!!!!"

Stephen rarely ever raises his calm, seductive voice, so it's just even more funny when he does xD

    *punch*

  • The song 'Where is the Lid' is hauntingly reminiscent of another song entitled 'America' by a man called Hugh Laurie:

    watch?v=lyHSjv9gxlE&feature=relmfu

... which funnily enough also ends in violence.

  • Does anyone know what chords and notes he's playing??

  • "America..."

  • ENOUGH WITH THE ADVERTS. IS THERE ANYWHERE ON EARTH WHERE WE ARE NOT BEING FORCED TO SWALLOW ADVERTS WITH THE PALATABILITY OF A RAZORBLADE COCKTAIL.

  • @WiseOwlOfGallifrey Firefox w/ adblock plus

  • @WiseOwlOfGallifrey You're right, it would be so much more pleasant to have to pay youtube, or else watch it close down due to lack of funds. Free video totally isn't worth a few seconds of advertisements

  • ironically one of the best vocal performances by Laurie.

  • 18 people have a VERY bad sense of humor :)

  • Being used to cover the cookie jar.

  • Pre-cursor to Hugh's later song 'America' does anyone think?

  • @rah243 "America" came first, I believe.

  • 1:21 - Stephen looks positive majestic.

  • @LeftyHandedGuns positively.

  • Every time I'm missing a lid to anything from now on, I'm going to sing this song.

  • I believe Hugh Laurie was reincarnated as an older, creepier, more perverted American doctor. May his comedy rest in peace.

  • DOZE ANNIE ONE KNOW.

  • look its prince poopy head

  • I think the moment I knew he was really dead will take SOME beating...

  • You see, this isn't actually a skit. This is Hugh and Stephen at their home, enjoying a normal afternoon together. It's merely on youtube because their sex tape camera never stopped recording.

  • @DelusionalDreamers Charile Higson and Paul Whitehouse are plastering out of shot.

  • @DelusionalDreamers

But only one of them is gay!

  • Was that Nigel Havers?

  • @royalgirl31 Yes, it was.

  • lol like the song america

  • Seriously, how many times has Fry punched Laurie on this show??? lol

  • @skibapwnsyou

Many. Many, many, many, many, many.... :D

  • @I4gotmyMANTRA Maybe we can watch every episode ever and count lol

  • @happysack1 Apparently it's a company that tries to make the Internet a much worse place by enforcing copyright. Looks like they failed big time.

  • No, i still don't.... hahaha...!

  • This song made me cry! I have NO idea why...

  • HUGH!... :D

  • I didn't quite catch the lyrics?

  • @Smile4TehKillcam Yeah, I wonder where they went...

  • @Smile4TehKillcam maybe you should stick to pokemon

  • 18 people don't know where the lid is

  • lol Stephen always hits Hugh XD

  • @dummbatz48, you bet :D

  • I didn't even know Hugh was British until I saw the extras on the "House" DVDs. Then I got this series, to find out that all that piano and guitar playing on "House" was for real! He does a fantastic version of "Will it Go Round in Circles" on the "Band from TV" CD.

  • Anything that comes out of his mouth is perfect

  • Hilarious XD

  • behind the sofa. of course.

  • OH WHEEEEEERE... OH WHEEEEER~ *punch*

  • "...who died suddenly today after a merciful accident that released him from years of painful mental illness. Hugh Laurie, whose real name was Hugh Laurie, was better known by his stage name - Hugh Laurie."

LOVE IT!!! I just love how Hugh goes on and on and one with the same 4 words while Stephen is just straight-faced, insisting on getting through to him, eventually yelling and punching! So great, and carried off so well!!

  • I liked when he asked where the lid was.

  • Don't knock your knickers its all good with Hugh&Stephen lolololol!!!

  • Ive known he was a fantastic comedian - first saw him on american reruns of Blackadder on PBS. Hysterical

  • Is Hugh Laurie Dr House? Just Kidding

  • Comment removed

  • Now THAT'S going straight to my Ipod.

  • is no one concerned about that hanger in the couch? Someone is going to sit on it! Ouch!!!

  • this never gets old. :D Why do all you english and/or british people get better comedy than us other folks?

  • @RandomPenguin922 Simple - it's because many of the best comedic talents in the UK have been to university - and often with other equally brilliant UK comedic talents. Besides that, the UK has a long tradition of satire and the absurd as used in comedy. Apart from all that banter and humour are a large part of the way of life in England, Scotland, Ireland (both EIRE and Ulster) & Wales.

  • There was no baseball bat!

  • HOW CAN HUGH BE HOT EVEN MAKING THOSE RIDICULOUS FACES.

  • LMAO......

  • "Hugh Laurie has a nasty accident with Stephen Fry and A BASEBALL BAT" ?!

  • Aww booo, you left out the very next bit with Rowan! Still like it though ^.^

  • Awesome song!!! this is like "America", hahahahaha. Love Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, and I love the punches too!!!

  • oh my i havent seen this in a year!!!! i forgot how incredably funny it is!

  • And if someone thinks he has to correct my English --> let me first here your German... :-)

  • Come on, guys! Don't you think that "becoming" House was one of the best things ever happened to Hugh as an actor?! He was absolutely unknown outside England and is now the best paid actor of a drama series with thousands of women wanting to... well, let's say meet him (yes, I know that he doesn't seem to be interested in that). Due to this, the old Fry & Laurie stuff is just getting popular around the world. I.e., when someone's asking "Oh, is that House?", there is no need to torture him/her!

  • @Lorelai382 You are joking of course. He was known around the world for his roles in many films, and in the ever popular Blackadder. He has worked with the Monty Python guys and done many other shows also. Just because you haven't seen much of him in the US, doesn't mean that he's not well known around the world.

  • @Jackdaw88 No, I'm not joking. I'm from Germany and absolutely no one knew Hugh before House here. Where are you from? Obviously you are living in a great country with a great taste (when it comes to movies or tv shows). Neither Blackadder, nor Jeeves & Wooster, nor... was aired in Germany.

  • @Lorelai382 That's not true, though it might have really skipped you and others, depending on age and TV channel selection... The very first time I had seen Black Adder was on the German satellite channel 3Sat, at some time around the middle of the 1990's, in English original with German subtitles. Got to know Hugh Laurie from there, together with his real voice :)

  • Fry has a way with words that makes everything he says hilarious

Hugh Laurie being naturally talented is great at almost anything he does.

Together they create magic and great comedy.

  • I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this before but isn't this the Guy who plays Dr.House in that very famous American Series which, co-incidently, shares the same name.

    "House" that is not "Dr."....

I simply must away as I need to clean my English teeth before having a delicious breakfast of English muffins and Tea.

  • @Isleofskye your a dipshit

  • @wizspencer

I would be vaguely impressed but you haven't even got the intelligence or basic grammatical ability to spell "your" correctly in this context!

Hardly InSPIRED is it, O Chesterfield One!

  • @Isleofskye "you're" still a dipshit

  • where is the baseball bat??

  • Stephen has a vendetta! :)

  • Hugh is such a great actor, hes hilarious but he can be serious too, and hes american accent is really convincing though i always knew he was British :)

  • I first heard about this guy as the lead actor on "House." Now that I know about his amazing comedy background, I may start watching that show now...

  • yay i got 56 thumbs up :)

  • This song is just like Hugh's other song - 'America'

Even ends the same lol - poor Hugh

  • All of these end in Stephen hitting Hugh...i love it. Hahahahaaaa...

  • wow i never knew Stephen fry was thin....

    lol

  • @hazeldine90 and now he's thin again! :-D

  • It's very similar to his song America :)

  • "a quality of...of needing the money" PRICELESS!

  • Comment removed

  • Or 'Hugh Laurie', but point taken indeed.

  • @oedssie Hugh LAURIE.

  • Comment removed

  • @rwc20071 amen to that!

  • @rwc20071 Is Hugh Laurie Greg?

  • @rwc20071 i'm not sure.... i think he is :D

  • @rwc20071 what about a building? is he a building?

  • @rwc20071 LOL! Listening to Hugh sing that song, and reading your comment, really gave me a good laugh! In the short time I've been checking out Fry and Laurie, I keep seeing people trying to explain to others that Hugh Laurie is an actor, and NOT the character Dr. House...bloody hilarious!

  • @Bongofury361 haha thanks mate.

its frustatrating that every video asks is this house.

  • @rwc20071 oh wow that does look like house, is it him? he does a good british accent!!!!!

  • @potatomasta Do you mean that he does a good American accent?

  • @potatomasta If you actually read the opening theme of House, the FIRST name says, you guessed it, Hugh Laurie. I mean, its in bold letters!!! Were you concentrating more on the pictures and music?

  • @potatomasta No such thing as a British accent. There are a variety of English accents and dialects, just as there are various accents and dialects in Wales, Scotland and Ireland (I include both EIRE and Ulster since each of them possess distinctive accents).

  • @Jackdaw88 its a joke people calm down. i'm not even from america i'm from yorkshire.

  • @rwc20071 where is it ?

    :)

  • "I'm putting the lid back on the jar-H-Hugh it's on the-HUUUGH!"

  • rofl

  • I just love this man!!!!!

  • yes

  • no it's Hugh Laurie the actor who just happens to play House, he's done many other things

  • @TheSoulMan8

    Olympic-level oarsman for a start.

  • No, that is Hugh laurie, the actor that plays Dr.House is called Hugh Laurie... so it's not him...

  • the man who portrays him, yes. Hugh Laurie is an amazingly talented man who deserves to be called his name; not House

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong! it's Hugh Laurie, not "Laury"

  • Comment removed

  • british humour is best :D

  • "Hugh Laurie, whose real name is Hugh Laurie, was better known by his stage name - Hugh Laurie."

    Haha =D

  • Soupy Twist!

  • Trivia: other than the third chord, the song structure is exactly the same as Hugh's popular "song for america."

This is one of my favorite sketches of theirs :D

  • SAVAGE!

  • Comment removed

  • @nellgwen48 The name of the sketch is Husband,it the one where both Hugh and Stephen yell at the baby, right?

Anyway hope that helps, its on youtube.
