I love this video. I sorta had an eating disorder, just, a few months ago, I really got over it. I thought, 'Oh, if I don't eat for a few days, I'll look skinnier than her.' what most people don't know about anorexia is that it's actually a psychological disorder... it's sick people like this guy (or who he was pretending to be..?) who are the reason why girls around the world are still suffering today. :(
i just read the article and i have to say that he kinda puts a bad name on chinese ppl... i'm chinese and i'm REALLY close with my family, especially my parents. and the comment about "the dollar is everything" isn't true. it's a stereotype to say that chinese ppl are cheap, and that's not true. we're frugal, and that's a good thing! money well spent is nothing to be ashamed of and he says it like it is...

one of my mom's friends was anorexic when she was a teenager. she is almost 50 now and her health is still affected from something she did almost 40 yrs ago! anorexia is very serious! and if someone is anorexic and lives through it, their whole life can be affected by it!

It's like a story I heard on W5 (it's like Canada's 20/20 or Dateline) anyway some guy was posing as a nurse on the internet and talking to people with depression and telling them to kill themselves (which a few did). I believe he's being charged or has been charged. The guy deserves nothing but I life in hell and this moron that posted about anorexia deserves the same.
This was a great video Rachel :) I agree that these EDs are either glamorized by the media or taken lightly by most people - like a lot of people will use "anorexic" as a term to describe a slender person. You're such an insightful, intelligent person, whoever is your friend is very lucky to have you!
that guy is something beyond a moron! good for you putting helpful and honest information out there. eating disorders might be "all the rage" in some areas-admitting you have or had one etc.-but it is hard for true sufferers to ask for help or see that they have a problem. being able to sit at a computer and find good information anonymously is a wonderful thing. you are a beautiful, responsible and caring young woman. bless you and thanks for making time for this.
