@historymoans Hey, I understand where you're coming from. I've seen some of the work William has done with Sunny Day Real Estate and he is a good drummer. But Dave didn't like some of the drumming William did on The Colour and the Shape album so he rerecorded them himself, so William was offended and left. What I'm getting at is that he's not a bad drummer, in fact he's pretty good, but he just wasn't a right fit to be in the Foo Fighters.

@RyanGuitar3 William never had a chance to create his own arrangments though, everything he played from the first album was devised by Dave and when he played it live he got it spot on. When recording TCATS Dave arranged the drums (to william's frustration), and when William didn't make the sounds that Dave wanted (e.g Sounding like DG playing the drums) DG played the drums himself. Taylor wouldn't have been able to get the sound Dave wanted on TCATS and in fact only played on half of TNLTL.
