  • People starve and suffer because of other people`s sin,we live in a evil world, love shines through, with each person who shows love. In AMERICA, even the worst inmates in prisons eat very well, compared to these people, sad but true.

  • This is sad. Everyone wants the best for their lives, some are so unfortunate and have to suffer. Only those who went through the situation can well understand it. I had been there, done that, and went through it, and tear was shaded. May God bless all these faces.

  • very misleading video, be careful what organizations you donate to.

  • @yellatjerry Absolutely disgusting.

This video is raising awareness, its not asking for money, not even linking to a website.

Have you even witnessed the Burmese oppression? Fool.

  • @josh9294

My, what strong words you use. I am assuming you are probably young and have not traveled a lot yet.

I will address your comment and your question.

You are wrong - this video implicitly and explicitly solicits funding. At 2:49 the lengthy shot "Care Corner Orphanage Foundation" sign was immediately followed by a request "please support our cause" That it does or does not provide a link does not make it any less of a request for support.

    (continued in next message)

  • @josh9294 (Part 2) this is misleading in it's emphasis on "starving" refugee children. All refugee camps here are provided food in a well monitored program. It is not an extravagant diet and nobody gets fat, but starvation is not an issue. If this video is from the refugee camps, then the emphasis on starvation is misleading. If this video is from outside the refugee camps (migrant worker settlement, or Thai hilltribes, etc.) then the labeling of this population as refugees is misleading.

  • @josh9294 (part 3) notice that the "food" provided to the "starving" children are sweet snacks and chocolate drinks. When you buy large quantities of cookies and children's snacks, they come in the big tins that you see in some of the scenes. These are not starving kids, this is not appropriate food for starving kids and you would not set up a feeding program for starving kids in a classroom. This is misleading

  • @josh9294 (part 4) all refugee camps here have food, housing, schools, health clinics, etc. A church group coming over once or twice a year, take photos and give cookies and blankets to the kids does not have any real impact on the health status or quality of education. This does not bother me, but when they solicit funds on the basis of this work, misrepresent the context and then insinuate they are addressing something such as starvation, they are pushing the boundaries of being ethical.

  • @josh9294 (part 5) in terms of raising awareness, it would appear from this video that the raised awareness is that refugee kids are starving and that if you provide donations, this particular group can continue to address this starvation. The real issue here is not the refugee camps, they are fine. The real issue is inside Burma but I don't see how this video does much of anything to raise awareness of the problems in Burma.

  • @josh9294 (part 6) Well Josh, you called me a fool but I will let it slide on the grounds that you are probably young and maybe you actually feel strongly about Burma. If so, great – I encourage you to dig deeper – read and learn. Don’t make assumptions and question everything. Crisis are always complex and the crisis in Burma is very long standing and maybe one of the most complex you will find. And finally – do be careful who you donate money to.

  • @yellatjerry Sorry if my words seemed strong. But I really find it hard to tolerate people who speak on grounds of ignorance.

Have you been to 'Care Corner Orphanage'?

Do you even know were this refugee camp is?

From your extremely long response, it seems all you do is analyse the video and judge it. I am young but I have visited those areas several times I can safely say it is in no ways a con. I don't feel any way stronger to Burma, than Africa, or Brazil, those in need must be helped :)

  • @josh9294 be careful making assumptions. I am not speaking from ignorance. I have been in refugee camps all over Africa and Asia. From this video there is no way to tell what specific camp this is in. I don't recall ever seeing "Care Corner Orphanage" but when I am in a camp it is usually at the health clinic, walking around the houses or talking with the leaders.

  • @josh9294 Had the video been about Burma gov. being evil - I would have had no problem. Had it said we help support and give supplies to an orphanage, I would have had no problem. But my problem was that it insinuated money/resources were needed for starving children in these refugee camps. That is misleading on two counts 1) children are not starving in these camps 2) donations to this orphanage would not be able to alleviate any starvation if there was. Where is this camp and whats it's name?

  • @yellatjerry Yes it is raising awareness. You are correct in saying it is vaguely asking for support though it does not provide a link. But you seem to think that support and donations are synonyms? There are other ways to support than just giving money.

However, since you have not been witnessed this particular orphanage and refugee camp before - I can see why you are suspicious. I agree, do be careful with money in respect to con charities.

  • @yellatjerry We have large charities here in the UK of which a minimal amount of donations actually go to the group they support. Due to the admins, and paying large amounts to accountants etc.

Those sort of charities do make me a little angry and I can empathise where you are coming from.

Sorry again for the strong comment. But I know the orphanage especially well, and I feel it is a perversion of justice to judge it and call it a con just from watching the video.

  • @josh9294 No problem - I work with refugees as a profession, among other things, I train health care workers to prepare them to work with refugees and I have been all over the world. I have worked on this border (Thailand - Burma) for 10 years full time some years ago and I still go back to the border several times a year now. I know this border and the camps very well. I just came back from Mae Sot yesterday.

  • @josh9294 I am very protective of children and am critical of orphanages for historical reasons. Some Christian run orphanages catered to Christian only - not very fair to the Buddhist majority. About 15 years ago an internationally known pedophile showed up and set up an orphanage, but after some time, we were able to run him out. There have been local "entrepreneurs" that set up "orphanages" using non-orphan children, to solicit donations and make money. Some have been good.

  • @josh9294 There are officially 9 camps on the border, but some count as 10 or 11 as a few of the camps are actually combined. Most of the camps have at least 2-3 names. The Karen (or Karenni) name, the official UN/Thai government name and in some cases another name that is easier to pronounce for foreigners. 15-20 years ago, several camps would get burned down frequently and they were moved. Some of the camp residents might also use the original name of the camp before it was relocated.

  • @josh9294 By the way - there has been quit a bit of fighting the past few weeks and this has resulted in several thousand "new arrival" refugees coming over the border. It hasn't exactly been front page news but you can probably find some articles via google or also try the Bangkok Post site.

  • i would totally adopt one of them!!!!

  • i have a question..is there any volunteer work that we can do to help these poor people? for example, there's like international volunteer work in vietnam, china, india, etc to help with medical and child care, even building houses...i would be glad to volunteer at the refugees camp like this if there are programs out there that i can work with.

  • can you believe this is still modern society? I know many people take forgranted just the everyday basics of life here in america and never have to think about what really is going on in the world... very sad......

  • I'm Thai.Hope They'll be fine.

    Love You.

  • That why we don't need any war against for each other and we have to loving for peace.Thank you for the movie!

  • I agreed with u what a ugly person and ugly comment.

  • this is exactly what happen with those who are not united or sacrafy themselves for other.wonder if hmong ever learn their lesson at all so selfish only wish best for their own little self. as long as they were save they don't care for other that's why always ends up with this sad ending.

  • im so glad you made this video! there is about 20 of the refugees at my high school and ive gotten to know two of them very closely, this helped me to understand what they went through in burma. and thanks for helping them god knows they need it!

  • ey whats the song call??

  • Mad World

  • mad world

  • Its sad to hear that our ancestors were pushed out of China. Then from Laos, and now Thailand...The Hmong had allied with the U.S in the Vietnam war. What happened?!

  • Hmong actually allied themselves with the de jure government of Laos back then, but the Pathet Lao, backed by North Vietnam, proved too much for them to handle. Hmong weren't guilty of treason; instead, Pathet Lao was guilty of selling out Laos to Vietnam.

  • @milvipes ...Aman to that !!! I was wonder the people citizen of lao know what their government do? Do they know that they own the country and they have the right to go again their government?.... All together you can change.....People.

  • we gotta stay strong na!

  • which refugee camp was this? was this a Burmese or Laotian camp because the pictures look new! So I'm guess children of the civil war in Burma or Myanmar!

  • When I arrive in thailand in 1979(Aranynia phrathet)my family and all the cambodian in that camps have been send to the mountain dangreng explosive mine.I lost one brother over there.I think, if the UNHCR didn't interverne. The thai will never help us.On the contrary they want all of us die.

  • I I'm hmong but i fell like theres no changes...i guess no one will never help us

  • nice and sad song

  • Nice.. Good to see our hmong brother and sister's having more support and living much better than years ago..

  • Someone please tell me what is the music for the closing credits?

  • love the video..we need more exposure like this because not many people have any idea what's going on to "our" people! God bless!

  • People have to help people or huamnity has to help humanity. God is no longer being at the presence to tell human being what to do. The future is in humanity's hand. Selfishness is what causing humanity into destruction and life worser than before.

  • i'm not saying that god is the answer, but in my view...i don't see how god is the answer go watch the new rambo..."god didn't come here to save your ass, i'm here saving your ass"...and yes i'm here commenting, but i did help out donation to organization to help out my ppl. i'm a poor student as well, but i help where i can. i don't see god looking to see if i did good. b/c i see some "god" ppl and they corrupted as hell.

  • Sorry but I dont think religeion needs to be bought up in this topic, people calling upon god and christ ect.. will not help. The only people that can help is Us.

  • Im also sorry. I dont see your point. All I can see is someone sitting at home on a chair commenting on youtube.

Religon is another topic which shouldnt be spoken about here to prevent arguments. But religion or not, these strong hearted christians are going to help these Thai people in need. Shows something huh? Obviously God is pulling them in.

Its what makes the difference between them and you.

    You = Sitting judging others

Them = Going out into the world helping with faith.

  • Josh - I am not a catholic and I do not agree with the catholic church.

I said what I said because the majority of comments are "god will help" ect..

Me, judging? I dont think so you moron, I am hmong, I know what's going on.

You, too quick to jump the gun. As for me sitting at home, If only I had as much money as the Church did, oh wait.. I forgot, that money is to bail out the pedaphiles, but thats okay right?

Dont be a hypocrite if your so "accepting"

  • George - I am a Christian Protestant. Let these people choose what they want to believe. Besides, these people are helping through their faith.

You are hmong? And then you ridicule the God of these people who help your own kind? What is going on? Think before you speak.

Hah. It is faith not money. The person who started the orphanage started without a cent.

Catholics...have the most missionaries in the world. All pathetic media and the people who are stupid enough to believe media.

  • yes I am hmong. Hmong people are so desparate to get out of Laos and Thailand they will do anything. Yes they should choose what they want to follow, however when you'r manipulated to beleive that you will be saved by a higher power of course they're going to converet, that's what they want to hear in situations like that. I am entitled to my opinion and I do not agree witht he churches and their missionarys assisting. It should be the US government as promissed during the war.

  • I am Hmong too... whats wrong with missionaries going to help, u think that the government can do everything that they said? let me ask u something what are u doing to help... let me guess NOTHING... so whatever help Hmong people can get is great dont say anything about Christians and missionaries cause im one and im going to go on a mission to Thailand as well

  • whats wrong with christian missionary groups? they prey on people who are in desparate situations and brain wash them. and dont u fucking judge me on what im doing to help, i do more than you do let me tell you that, funny that, thousands of hmong in the US who live in mansions to claim a status, what a joke. maybe if you donate alittle money to unicef or charity or maybe even sponser a hmong orphan! enjoy your mission, but dont preech on them.

  • Ugh. People like you really pronouce out the meaning "hypocrisy". Dont talk trash, dont judge people? You just said you do more than us to help...on a online video website.

Please dont make me sick. Theres not much better than travelling to a totally different country and serving people in need with nothing to gain for yourself. We are telling others to do the same, what complete idiot would say thats wrong.

  • Whatever you wrote made no sense what so ever. When you learn how to write propper grammer, come speak to me then.

If you don't understand what that means, move on because I don't have time to explain my views to dumb people.

  • There is nothing wrong with my grammar, idiot.

You can't even spell proper or grammar - Go study the language english

Noone agrees with you. Your views are bent and bitter, its pathetic.

  • I am entitiled to my own view. Don't preech religeion on the people in need. You just a kid anyways - you don't know shit.

  • Yeh forget all that hyprocritical nonsense you just said, since you are a dumbass you dont know when you've been proven wrong.

Like you said, learn how to speak english, or maybe how to type on a keyboard before replying to me. A "kid" can do better, kinda pathetic.

  • I dont need to be proven wrong you halfwit. My expressions are my views on how the catholic church approach the situation on desparate people in need of help. If you have a problem with me not liking the catholic church then I suggest you get over it. There is appropriate aid and aid workers that are there for the job not the church. If the church want to help, helpbut do ot tell them that god will help because thats bullshit.

  • that must have been embarrassing, spelling propper with two p's, ouch. I'll re-write your sentence for you 'When you've learned how to write using correct grammar come back and see me'. Any tips on english sentence construction don't hesitate to ask. My family tree goes back centuries.

  • I'm not embarrested about anything. I'm actually proud of making my point clear and if you have a problem with it you can go and pray with the others as well and hope for the best. As for you family tree dating back centuries, don't think that your the only hmong or person that doesn't because all our families have history, but then again your arrogance shows why those people are still there. Typical - everytime you put food in your mouth be thankful that you can.

  • Inshallah(God Willing) open an orphanage with the money I earn fom muay thai and I will help my thai people no matter what!

  • Well done :)

  • ahahha...c wat i say ya aint shit cuss ya ant even doing shit to help u own kind no wonder we have no land and jus praying to god to help but guess wat god is not here not even jesus so i guess i should just be myself and dont need to hlep my own kind cuss when someone rise all the rest of the mutherfucker like u want us to fall so fuck all ya hater

  • why are you say stuff like these. You know what only if you believe that God will answers.

  • thank you all for those who did their best to let the world know about what is happening to our brothers and sisters who are being torture in SE Asia. "One day the world will turn its eyes on us, and when that day came a great leader will prevail."

  • makaveli...killing others for revenge? That would make you no better than the laos themselves. Though some of the laos do deserve death for their horrible crimes.

Leave it to a greater power (God) to deal with them. Justice is not in your hands.

Besides the chances you are a hmong gangster is 0.0001

As far as I hear Gangsters dont hang around youtube?

  • dont worry i already talk wid all the big drug dealer and thugz out there and they have supply me with thousand of millitary weapon so soon we will make thing changes around the jungle of laos im going out for blood im a big drug dealer represent the biggest hmong drug dealer or u can call me a thug lord....who want to come wid me holla i need hmong soldier and thugz and gangster represent for your own kind aite dont hate...believe me ....

  • gangsters can not even help themselves how are they suppose to help others? i find it ironic how hmong gangs are killing eachoher but you say that you are going to gather up hmong gansters to help other hmong folks. yeah right man, gangsters are pathetic.

  • As much as I tried to hold back the tears, they kept falling. It hurts to see that there is so little we can do to help but I guess it's better than nothing. Thanks for posting it!

  • thank for posting this movie

  • the ending music is naruto sadness and sorrow :P nice

  • omg..this video made me cry. What can I do to help?

I'm going to visit my hmong brothers and sisters this year. I will do what I can for them.

  • Wooahh. Awesome video!
