  • It helped that it was still in the family. I sold my 85 years ago, I'd love to get it back but no way to find it.

  • @dukeallen2001 I know what you mean. I was lucky. There are cars I have owned and cars that my Dad has owned that I would love to find, but there is not a good method for searching for an older car.

  • What a good husband!!!!

  • Man Bro that cool of you! You are the man!

  • i remember when i got suprised with my blue 1992 rs 25th anniversays camaro! i cried:'D

  • where's chip foose !........

  • You've just been Overhauled. lol

  • Dude u are FREAKIN AWESOME! ! I miss mine even more now

  • Great job man! Very sweet. Lovely lady too- you are both lucky. Did you find much rust in the cowl drain area? My 1991 has some major issues...

  • Your so gettin laid for that.

  • that was pretty nice of you. even cooler you were able to find the actual car she drove.

  • wow i want to get a 1990 iroc z28 camaro 5.7tuned port injection

  • dude one great job man car looks great and you supprised the hell out of her i want to do that for my mom one day her fist car was a 65 malibu convert 2 door im looking for one right now to restore and holy crap nice garage so modeling mine off that

  • She is a lucky woman. She married well. And what a car.

  • that is a very beautiful idea..

  • A girl will never be able to fully appreciate a car like that :(

  • Did you replace the carpet with something newer than what was in the restore video? I would have gone with black like the color of the car.

  • @wccrispy I went with the factory color for sentimental reasons. I wanted to keep the car looking like it was when my wife first bought it. But, I agree with you, black carpet does look good on these cars.

  • @brnagn76 Aw, that's too bad. Black would have looked great. Do you have more planned for the car?

  • Did you replace the carpet with something newer and blacker than what was in the restore video?

  • Did you replace the carpet with something newer and blacker than what was in the restore video?

  • is that a nova i see @ 0:58 ???

  • @gangstapanda102 Good eyes! It is my first car...a 1974 Nova. I have upgraded the brakes using Corvette C5 components and have replaced most of the suspension using parts from Detroit Speed. I still need to replace the drivetrain and do all the bodywork. It is a 10 year project. Ha!

  • @brnagn76 cool thats my dream car i could spot those a mile away!!!

  • Dude. Good on ya man. Thats how you treat a woman.

  • That was wicked cool for you to do that for your wife. Hats off to you man.

  • Cool modell sorry ther is no power . 0-60 in about .......zzzz

  • what a great dude!

  • Such a cool thing to do for your wife!

I hope nobody ever surprises me with my first car (POS Renault wagon).

  • loven the nova.. :)

  • hahaha awesome video

  • the car and your wife are both hot! congrats, your a lucky man!

  • wow wat a great gift! your a real gentlemen

  • Wow. You're a good husband!

This is exactly like my 85 Camaro Sport Coupe, except she's old and tired and needs a little restore herself. No rust though. How much did this restore cost total??

Where did you get the leather seats?

  • @KathyReedTheOriginal You are light years ahead of us if your car does not have rust! I purposely have not totaled the cost of the restoration, because I know it would be way more than the car was worth in terms of blue book value. However, I will say that however much we spent, it was worth every penny! The seats are from a 98-02 Camaro. They are a direct bolt in. I just had to run a fused power wire to the driver's side for the power adjustment.

  • @ADOPTmeBITCH Why the fuck would you WISH that his wife would cheat on him? Are you a fucking re re? Does your elevator not go all the way up? Get some manners.

  • Why the hell did you tell here before she seen it,, you and overhauling always ruin a good surprise.

  • I recommend a dash cover, its a plastic skin that looks like the original dash, color and contour. It slips right over the factory dash pad.... take the soft strips of velcro tape, and put it on the contact points, keeps it firm, doesnt wear the original piece and looks factory!

  • props to you man. not many people today go through that trouble.

  • @b3r3tta95 I like to be different. :)

  • was it hers originally or you bought a new one

  • This is her original car. She bought it around 1995 and drove until 2003. We sold it to my brother, and he drove it for a couple of years, then I bought it back from him.

  • the dash mat is the shit ...

  • is that a 74 nova in the background?

  • @midnitesquirldog Good eyes! Yes, it is a 74 that is waiting in line for a complete rebuild. It already has 13" C5 rotors in the front and 12" C5 rotors in the rear, but it needs bodywork and a new drivetrain. The plan is to turn it into a 1968 clone. I have owned the car for 15+ years.

  • best part about doing up cars sometimes is bringing a car back to life when it could have easily been taken down the tip or anything. cool vids.

  • @laurence265 YES! You get it. That is exactly how I feel. I can not explain the feeling of satisfaction after bringing a car/truck/bike back from the dead.

  • LOL favorite part "I don't understand" great job man I got a 85 at home built it from crap great car

  • @abadarian

    that is the real original

  • some one's gettin some sex tonite....lmao..i think the wheels are perfect and y did u put in that hideous steering wheel that replaced the original

  • did you recently sell a 1982 camaro on the local craigslist? within the past few months?

  • Nope. It must have been someone else. I did hear there is a car similar to my wife's that is in the Wake Forest, NC area.

  • how much did it cost to have it re done?

  • i cant wait to do this for my wife, her 86 iroc is sitting down in florida, we are either bringin it to maryland or moving back to florida, but thats awesome what you did for your wife

only thing i think would be better would be stock wheels on it, unless those are the style she had on it, lol, either way thats awesome

  • Go for it! My wife's car was in Missouri and we were in North Carolina and I had it moved here before the restoration.

As far as the wheels, it originally had solid aluminum Centerline wheels that were outdated. It later had 16" IROC's on it, but they were in rough shape. That is why I went with the 17" ZR1 wheels.

  • @brnagn76 oh man find a good set of irocs lol ,

yeah my wife and i are planning on moving to florida in the next year or so, but idk if i want to wait that long, her uncle is taking care of it for now, but its not in the best of shape anymore

  • @brnagn76 on top of that, i about cried watching the restore vid for that car, its just simply awesome what you did for the car and your wife

how much did you spend on body and paint? im getting my 89 rs done soon

  • my bad. not an ss. but still beautiful

  • wow that thing is a beut! ss?

  • awsome car how much did it cost to restore it . please reply

  • She put out after that... right?

hahahaha awesome car man, I love the thirdgens and what you did was very nice.

  • nice car

  • holy shit i want that garage

  • so kool i think ima do this for my wife one day

    but nice garage man

  • I want your garage.

  • Ha, ha! I try to share it with others!

  • Cool i think it great what you did. Ive been telling myself im gunna find my moms 68 el camino ss but its a hard find.

  • Thank you for the kind comment

  • thats awesome great job what engine did you go with

  • It still has the stock 305 (LG4) in it. We are going to use it "as is" and may upgrade in the future. My goal was to finish the exterior, interior, suspension and brakes first.

  • at least its a v8 lol looks like u did heck of a job its a sharp car ... i cant wait to restore my 89 firebird formula

  • thats awesome!! bet someone got laid that night

  • Thats wicked, you must be the luckiest man alive! Really cool that you would do that for your wife!

    Cheers!

  • Car came out great! I hope she didn't install the dash mat!!

  • If you meant I was considering purchasing this(YOURS) car, no I meant a car this model from a friend in the neighborhood.

What I mean by my comment is that I saw the restoration video from your video selection and came here to see you give the car to your wife and ended up commenting here.

Anyway thats a real cool thing you did for your wife and Im sure the car has more sentimental value and history than before. I wish longevity to you guys and the Camaro.

    Peace

  • I saw the restoration video. I was considereing buying this car from a friend around the time you uploaded this video. Anyway thats a great surprise.

    Peace

  • Do you mean you saw this exact car...or one like it?

  • this video is amazing. Love the camaro, I have a Blue 87 sport coupe

  • They are ZR1 replica wheels with the correct backspacing for 82-92 F-bodies. They are made by SLP Engineering.

  • what are those corvette rims? those look nice on those cars

  • what a sweet gift man!
