Just start slow but make sur each arrow is nocked and that youre not pinching it and draw it fully, go from slow and get gradually faster in stages then youll get very fast AND efficient
Lookin a the the great video of your speed shootings it is easy to shoot 1000 arrows in 5 hours day...I think I can get faster with 4 inches cut off my arrows not 28 inches but 24 inch arrows....if you look at your video there is 4 inch's sticking out that takes more time to load just my observation ...I will have to try shoter arrows and see if my speed will increese.....Felling better today ..I hope they let me out of the hosp..tomarrow....9 days now..........
@KansasCombatArchery Thanks Bo! True about the faster loading with shorter arrows BUT if i cut THESE arrows, they won´t fly straight anymore. I had to let them longer to make them bend enough around this bow handle, which is primitive style ( no window cutting). If i would cut these, i would need to purchase much heavier points. Or i would need to buy much weaker shafts. I think most important thing is that arrow fly straight and that way hits the targets. But you are right about the speed.

@MetisLifeguard With this bow i can not pull either mouth or chest, this is short draw bow , max 26" and a have normally about 27, and half inch draw. This bow is "plain indian-style" bow. and needst to shoot like short bows.
Great job there, I forgot to ask how long did it take for your falco storm to arrive ? I have decided to get one of these for deer hunting, but i need to get it before deer season. I am 13 and my anchor point point is just in front of my ear ( or about 25 inches draw lenght for me). This is a perfect bow bow because it is felxing at full power for my draw lenght.
Marko thanks for sharing this video, it helps me a bunch. It appears you are finding the bow string with arrow-nock above and coming down on top of string-nock rather than below it? 51” Storm bow really rocks! greg
@TheStickBow1 Thanks Greg. Good to hear. Yes that is the way. I used to keep the arrow below the string-nock and even use two string-nocks both sides of the arrow, but when i started to practise this horsearchery, i found that this is the way it can be made faster and with shorter and more natural movement. This is how they often do among horsebackarchers. Yes this is fun bow. But it is odd first, because of its short draw (this horsemodel of Storm. Hunting model is normal draw) Greetings!
This, however, depends on what kind of technic is used for the rest of the archery. For thumbdraw, you definitely would prefer nocking under the nock point, simply becouse the nock point on the string gives support for the arrow when shooting tumbdraw so the arrow won't wander of higher and higher (of course it's possible to shoot thumbdraw with no nock point, but harder).
With three-fingerdraw, I also prefer nocking from the top :)
Hy, how can you use this method of shooting? As what i see already in other's movies never draw to fulldraw, only like a half (min: 1:14 for example), the grip on the handle is not safe and hard to control, you have to pay attention and spent time organizing the arrows before shooting, you save like 1/4 from the time were you shoot normaly with arrows on the quiver, you can't shoot long distances (>25-30m). So what is the gold for this method of shooting?
@mayandy Hi and thanks for good questions. 1. This bow is short draw, same as plain indian bows. Max is 26" and works best at 25". So at 2:10 it is even more than full draw and i had to move my left shoulder to anchor it somehow. So the shooting is differend than normal draw length bows or normal horsebows as yours. (allowing way over 30" draws. 2. What do you mean by grip being not safe or hard to control? You men holding arrows? To holding arrows like this is used on hungarian track.
(continues) ....This competition track is straight path, one target and you shoot as many arrows as you can during the whole 90m. Distances are about 45m to 10m. You can put arrows on your bow hand before you start the track. Other tracks doesn´t allow to hold arrow from bowhand. You need to take arrow from belt or quiver, but you need to shoot only one arrow to each 5 targets during the 150m of gallop. Distance is only 5-10m on this KOREAN track.
(part 3) ..This snap shooting can be pretty accurate ( some hunters uses snap shooting still). Depends how you practise. But if i like to shoot accurate with no horry, i anchor and shoot one arrow at the time....But if i wish to be good on competitions , i need to practise this methods too. You see the gold for this method?
Check videos about international horseback archery competitions and you will find out why i practise this also. Greetings.
@mayandy part 4) .....One more thing. Even thumb shooters as you, holds sometimes arrows on bowhand and they sure shoots fast. Also you need to practise for loading (nocking) the arrow as fast as you can and without looking!! That is also one reason why to practise this method. These are the reasons why i practise like this.
On good day you can find "the flow" and you relly can hit pretty good with this style too. Try it out someday :)
I use to take breath while drawing the bow and exhale after the release, but I guess it must be more difficult to coordinate the breathing while shooting at such speed, right?
@miketalhoffer I use same system. I just take breath while loading and then exhale afer the release or two. Kind of like boxers do when they puch. (not that loudly though hahah)
yes it is hard to get little kids to stick with a hard sport like archery, i am trying to get my 2 little brothers to like archery but they dont seem to have as much interest as my older brother and i have. maybe they will one day learn to like archery, The only reason i think they dont like archery is because the low draw weights are not as fun as the heavy draw weights, but they've seen what my brothers warbow can do . Hopfully i will have new videos of new bows soon.
Always a pleasure to see new videos on a regular basis. Nice to see you children shooting too. That falco is one fast bow. My older brother is getting a falco storm for deer hunting, but im getting a horsebow for me for deer hunting .
@warbowgeeks Thanks! Yes they all are archers and they are training horseback archery too. I hope their interest in this sport will last long. Storm is very nice bow. Hunting model is center shot and this one i am shooting here is the horsemodel so it is shorter, has shorter draw (like plain indian bows) and has no window/shelter. Good luck to you too (brother too)

Do you pull back to the mouth or chest when speed shooting?

make your arrows a little shorter for faster speed

@KansasCombatArchery Too lazy for more tuning. These are flying straight without cutting at all = easy to build new without extra work :)
