Am I the only one experiencing poor performance with this program? Both on my laptop and new desktop, as soon as I start playing notes, the whole system boggs down and everything is really slow. It's on a quad core AMD! Why is it doing this?
@MetalShreader: I've used it for a few years. Only time I've ever had any issues with it some times while I'm screen recording I might get some cracking and popping. My machines isn't the fastest, in fact I've used this on my eeepc 900 with is a 900mhz, 1GB RAM machine.
I normally hook it up through jack. Not sure what is causing the problem on your end.
@m4kx: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for telling me about this program. I use to make sound font files with Smurf/Swami, but that project has been dead for a while. This "Specimen" seems to do all the things I use to do with Swami. I've only been playing with Specimen for about 5 minutes now, but I love it. It's simple and has all the basic functions I need.
Thanks again. I'll be doing a tutorial on this once I play with it more.

hey :)
Specimen allows you to do the same things but with you own samples but the UI is more simple ^^

@metalx1000 i use soundfont with Qsynth and it works well but Specimen is better if you want to play some sound recorded with a mic or guitar.
i'm glad to help you ^^ keep doing you videos as well as you do

someone should design a usable UI for this program, because it's really cool, but looks like crap. ;)
