  • Great video. I want somebody just like you! :)

  • 5/2011 I know this has been out quite a while, as I've seen it before but I notice that you didn't "rinse" the butter with cold or ice water to get even more of the buttermilk out. It's not a big deal, but others have said that it wil stay fresh longer in the fridge if you do, true?

  • Hey! Awesome vid! l need to know please!! Does the cream not have to be sour first?? l was told to leave the cream out for 12 hours FIRST.... You dont mention any of this though! Can l make the butter from FRESH CREAM? Or it has to be left out for awhile??? THANKYOU!!!!

  • This was helpful and very easy.. thanks much! :)

  • Clear simple demonstration - beautifully done thanks for taking the time. I will go ahead and make it tomorrow. Thanks from Luke in Manchester England

  • thanx, it is now so easy to make butter

  • Really good process. I have used the Kithen Aid mixer, but then you have to clean the entire thing, this is simple and just pitch it in the dishwasher! Well done, off to see the rest of your videos!!! Take care.... Guy

  • Thanks for this video. I used a hand mixer because I didnt have a processor. It took a litle longer than 3 minutes...about 5 minutes. But, it worked and got real butter! I used it to make homemade cookies!! I was so excited lol!. Thanks so much!! :)

  • Can you use a blender, power mixer, etc. instead of the processor????

    Please reply.

  • Hi Sy, how long does the butter taste good presuming that you keep it in the fridge (not freezer)? TKS

  • that is so cool, I have to try it.

  • Bam!! It's butter. This was wonderful. I thought you had to use a slow churn method. I had butter in less than 2 minutes with my large food processor. I also used raw milk. I have a cow share and get the real stuff. Wonderful!!!

  • why the hell am i watching how to make butter twf eny way relly cool im gona try it next week lol keep up the good work

  • I like the flask and the red plastic beer cup! I'm gonna try this today!! Thnx

  • I remember as a child we would sit and watch television with my grandmother and churn milk to make butter. Thank you for making this so simple and sharing it with us.

  • Nice trick... have you tried the money making technique posted for free ez-casino(dot)com? It's working pretty well for me!

  • Great! I can't waite to get of work and go home and try it

  • If you check a restaurant supply place you can get a 36% heavy cream there. I use it for homemade ice cream.

  • can u use half and half?

  • I knew the old fashioned way but this up-to-date method is the way to go! Thanks syWire!

  • Thank you my husband is going to think I became a little home maker. LOL

  • This butter is AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH, SI!

I've given all my friends lessons on making their own butter and they're all following your instructions now, as it's so easy. I whizzed mine up with a simple electric hand whisk with two beaters. It took about 8 minutes! Fantastic... never buying butter from the shop again!

    Love, Jay xxx

  • OMG! I'll never eat store bought butter again! There a number of recipes for homemade butter on YouTube, but I chose to make this one because I liked the idea of using a mini cuisinart and squeezing out the excess "butter milk" with cheese cloth. All the techniques on this video were perfect. Thanks so mcuh for posting this video.

  • @ashergtk That was whipping cream. 35% cream. Milk is 3.25%, 2% and 1%. So no, you are not drinking that much butterfat in your milk.

  • Yet another great video, what part of the world are you located in Sy?

  • You got that from Publix, didn't you? XD I bought the same stuff earlier.

  • You didn't rinse the butter with cold water to get rid of all the buttermilk. I have heard that it was necessary to rinse it so that it does not go bad within a day or two. What are your thoughts about this?

  • I use the jar method, but didn't know how to easily rinse the butter, and kept making messes. Thank you for the idea of using the cheesecloth.

  • OMG so I did this tonight AND IT WORKED!!! The best butter I have ever tasted....just heavy whipping cream and a little salt! AWESOME! THANK YOU!!

  • This was delicious and fun to make thank you!

  • can i use half and half cream?

  • can i use half and half cream?

  • That little cuisinart blender was so cute, I have a cheap one same size for $10 used it for years with lighter foods like garlic, ginger, sometimes to grind meat, I will try to use it to make buttert, hope it works, thanks for showing how to make the butter.

    Good easy recipe...Susan

  • Do you leave the cream to set to room temp first or do you blend cold?

  • If you intend on saving the buttermilk, wouldn't it be better to flavor the butter AFTER the buttermilk is extracted? Your buttermilk is going to carry the flavor of whatever you mix in if you add it before and you might not want that flavor in whatever you put the buttermilk in. I don't think many people would enjoy garlic, salt and herbs in their morning pancakes.

  • Wow, 3 minute butter! Took me 15 minutes with a jar and my wrists were tired. It was really cool- when it suddenly switched from whipped cream (which doesn't move) to a butterball sloshing around in buttermilk. Machine is the best way to go.

  • THANK YOU! YOU ARE AWESOME!!! <3

  • YOU ROCK!

  • add peanuts for peanut butter

  • What a great idea! That buttermilk would be awesome in rolls.

  • I would rather make unsalted butter. Salted butter is plentiful at the super market.

Flavored butter sounds like it might be good for sandwich spread.

  • thanks for the video it was very helpful : )

but arent you suppose to rinse the butter after with water until it comes out clear?

and to have normal buttermilk you can make your butter and wait until you strain all the milke out and then add your salt to you have salty butter and normal buttermilk.

  • This was great!! I'll never buy butter again!

Thanks for the video! Adventures of the Fru-Gal struck gold here! Literally Awesome:)

  • how can you use your buttermilk when you added garlic powder in it??

you forgot to rince your butter after to take out the buttermilk that is in the butter

  • He squeezed the butter in the cheese cloth, therefore no rinse was needed. All the buttermilk or liquid left in the butter was being squeezed out when forming the ball of butter in the cheesecloth.

  • this video was SOOOOOOO helpful, thanks much :D

  • If you haven't tried this, you're really missing out. The flavor is so different from store-bought butter. Throw a couple of cloves of garlic and some extra salt and you have the best spread for garlic bread ever! This is worth the trouble! Try it!

  • i like homemade butter better than store bought. homemade is much creamier

  • lmao

  • will it work with "special" herbs?

  • Rofl :D

    That would be awesome :b

  • can I use normal full cream milk instead of heavy cream and must the milk be in room temperature for many hours before put it in the blender.

  • no you have to use heavy whipping cream

  • thank u 4 uploading this video

    it really helps

  • That's awesome. I might try it when I get the chance.

  • Buttermilk makes some dank biscuits.

  • great vid!!!! 100+

  • Do you have to "rinse" the butter? or is that something extra?

  • I didn't realize that butter was so easy too make. My wife and I enjoy making our own salad dressings and we have some excellent recipes. My parents always made their own ketchup when I was a kid. We grew our own tomatoes and my mother canned them. They also made their own grape jelly, pickled corn, etc.

  • MMm fresh Jam. Niiiiiice! ;) I'll be adding more base lvl cooking Vids soon. like mayo and peanut butter, ketchup, yogerts and so on. Glad you all are enjoying them. 8)

  • I also make my own beer and wine. Much better than you can buy. I never cared too much for the home made ketchup. We have made mustard though... a little mustard seed and pickle juice.

  • Brilliant AND WELL PRESENTED vidS how to make our own food. These free from the mass produced chemicals that are not good to eat long term. Thank you for these vids. I will certainly be trying to encourage my family to do what you have taught us, in your facinating vids to date. My REGARDS

  • @nbm34 I make my own jams, yoghurt, lebneh, chutneys, cakes and ricotta cheese - I should make some vidoes on these.

  • Good stuff. I like your videos. Looking forward to see more in the future!

  • I too am glad you're back! Clearly you've been missed! My farm raised parents each complain that back in their day having to make butter was pretty much a punishment chore. Your new vid is great! I can't wait to try it! Your possible special tweeks open new doors for me. Thanks again for sharing your innovations! I look forward to your next vid!

  • Good stuff! Glad you are back. :-)

  • more of these kind of cool tips.....
