A seatbelt does not protect you from "Every chance of getting broken", if your vehicle is hit hard enough you could suffer major neck injuries. Trust me it happened in from of my house yesterday.

However, seat belts do save lives, so all you dumb ass teens out there that don't wear them then you're gonna die.

This was one of the best public information films made. Jimmy Saville certainly got the message home very well. He must have helped save quite a few lives and serious injuries. Good on him for that.

A pity though, compulsory wearing of seat belts in the UK was not introduced until 1983 some eleven years later than this film.
