does anyone else think Omar has really developed his own musical language? His playing has a little in common with blues, and rock, and definitely salsa...but I've never heard this kind of "fluid dissonance" anywhere else. some of his note collections are just out of this world. I put him on par with Coltrane.
Deantoni is the shizzzzzzzzzzzz, classic speed vs.substance and feel i listen to deantoni play with ORL group and i was BLOWN away my fav since danny carrey or maybe even bill buford!
I used to think it sucked to not have been around when all the greats were making magic...Page, Clapton, Green, etc. But screw that...Omar is like no other.
one of the best things about thier shows are the solos, they are never the same, even if its the same song, i wish they did more solos like this on their albums, or mabey more live cds.. i can only listen to these on youtube lol
ahi estuve yo compañera/o un conciertazo... despues de verlos en madrid... tenia que repetir .. yme traslade desde Valencia la Pais vasco solo para verlos
I love when Omar goes off into 5 min solos like that. When i used to listen to at the drive in i never thought he would be the kind of gutiar player that he is today with the volta. He is pretty fucking goos in my book lol.
@wakkawakka666 Well, in some ways it reminds me of John Frusciante, as he is influenced by John, and John is influenced by Omar. But Omar is definitely one of the most creative guitarists out there, extremely original.
how does he do it?? i mean like i know hes a fuckin genius but, come on, no body is just that amazing. he must have learned somewhere. who ever taught him... needs to teach all the rest of us
Thank you!...whoever shot this video!>...it is amazing to see Omar in such pure Action state.!

The only guitarist that causes that "nothing else matters" feeling when he plays. A true psychedelic experience.
