Very good vid. I have a problem here. In my DSRL, I set my color space to sRGB. When I edit it in Ps CS5, I will save it as ProPhoto RGB and the result displayed in different browsers are different. For instance, the Chrome and Opera will have darker images than the one I have edited in Ps CS5. May I how I'm going to save the pic edited in Ps CS5 to sRGB instead of ProPhoto?
@antonioreyes1987 Without too much detail, for web images it's best to have the colour space of the image set to sRGB. If you use jpeg images from your camera then set it to Adobe RGB but I highly recommend that you use Raw images.
even though I set all my color profiles to Adobe RGB (camera) and CS4 to ProRGB I often struggle to get my monitor calibrator ( in my case Spyder3 ) to match . I take photos of colors that I can easly recognize to verify accuracy and they never seem to match up on the monitor . I have tried in RAW and JPG. Is the accuracy tied into the camera's sensors tolerances, my monitors tolerances, or the monitor calibration from the Spyder 3 .
@erics1959 I will sound like a Mac fan boy but the most accurate colour monitors are Apple.I don't know why, just that it's easier to print what you see with a mac then a PC. With that said it's very difficult if not impossible to match 100%. Most monitors will only display sRGB which is a smaller colour space then RGB. I use an electronic colour card to balance my monitors. The card lets me compare how the colours display. Not a fan of the spyder.
@morrisstudios I understand Apple displays color space is hardware driven vs the software based for open architect standards of other platform. Thus monitor calibrators dont work on Mac's except for a specific model. I agree with the spyder comment however I had great results with the syder2. My monitor is a samsung 245T that covers 100% of adobe RGB . Can you elaborate more on what a electronic colour card is ? and where I can obtain one ? thanks .
Thanks for this video, it's very useful. I'm looking for the tutorial/video about colour space and printing. I've been having all sorts of trouble with getting the prints back in the colours and brightness i'm expecting so this video would be extremely useful to me!! thanks :o)
