Kino was a facility that was where Maxus tries to brainwash the zombies into listening to him only there are some radios in kino that reveal this information and the apparent time that they had arrived in was the 60's because that is when the radio tower as seen by double tap root beer in the distance. Fluffy the dog was pregnant and when she was zombified the puppies were too. That is why Richthofen yells out not the puppies in kino.
