Stephen - I want you to be a guest on Good and Green Radio! YOU are such an inspiration & the work you are doing is sooooo Good and Green; inspiring everyone to live a Positively Sustainable Lifestyle. Please contact me on Good and Green Radio on Facebook.
THIS IS THE WAY to fight Drugs, Crime, Jail, Domestic violence, Health, Reunite families again, show Love, but most of all; To hElp sAve our ONLY plaNet! Way to go Bronx! SI SE PUEDE :-)
If you tried to grow stuff on a wall like this at home, the cops would shut you down because they think you have a meth lab going. Guilty until proven innocent! Welcome to America!
Urban farms are the silliest thing I've ever seen. That land is way to expensive to waste like that. You could bus the kids to a real farm outside the city a few times a year and save on costs! Rent that land out as a $500/mo parking spot or whatever crazy high prices city people are willing to pay.
@linagee I see your point but don't you think it's nice to have green spaces and stuff within the industrial and residential areas in the cities and towns? I think that you have a point about cost but still...it's worth it to have nice looking cities?
Stephen Ritz ROCKS!! AMAZING!! Although I do not know any of the kids involved in the projects, I feel tremendously proud of each and every one of them!! BRAVO!
Did he say he has patented his food wall? Don't patent it! Share it!!! I want to know how to do this!! Don't stifle this by patenting! Go for a resource based economy. Google it. We don't need money, we need food and resources. Change the world, change the mindset. The 'business' is people!
Amazing!! My daughter runs the school lunch program in their small western Colorado community and has managed to get most of the processed crap out of their diets. Still a long way to go but now she's networking and finding funding for their school's unused greenhouse to get it back up and running and adding an aquaponic section. The kids will be the workforce and will be part of their science curriculum and it will lower the produce budget for the school -- it's a win-win for everyone!!
Absolutely incredible. We are fighting to save school garden funding in our rural northern California community and I will share this video, and Stephen Ritz's vision and energy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring and making change happen.
Awesome - we need more people like Steve to share their passion with kids at risk.
