Sanders is not promoting a socialist agenda. He wants a mixed economy which contains equal elements of both capitalism and socialism. Mensheviks and Bolsheviks were competing Marxist socialist groups in pre-revolutionary Russia whose fundamental difference was how they perceived the role of capitalism. Bolsheviks felt that capitalism was utterly without value, and Mensheviks felt that capitalism was a necessary phase through which the state apparatus was to develop enough to achieve that communistic ideal. China appears to me to have transitioned from having Bolshevik ideals to having Menshevik ideals...

Revolutionary socialism includes the Bolsheviks, who felt that progress could only happen by means of the violent overthrow of existing governments and replaced by socialist states that were committed to achieving the communistic ideal. I never said Hitler supported the left. The left (Bolshevism) was one of what he considered to be the two evils. Hitler HATED communists, and when he invaded the Soviet Union, he butchered the Soviet citizenry- one of the major reasons he lost the war. Hitler actually joined the German Worker's Party in 1919 and suggested they change their name to the National Socialist Workers Party which later became known as the Nazi Party.

This is a little bit similar to the mistaken notion that the US, for example- is a democracy. It isn't. A true democracy has no elected representatives. The US is a constitutional republic- with democratic ideals at its core. Again, communist countries are not those that have achieved communism, but have rather implemented a form of socialism so as to work towards this idealized communist goal. Nazis had a very different goal for their socialistic apparatus, but it was still socialistic.

It has to do with the specific objectives of the socialist organization and the agenda for its intended fulfillment. There's been utopian socialism, 'respectable' socialism opposed to communism, reformist and revolutionary socialism, et al. The Soviet Union had communist ideals, but did not go beyond socialism in its organization.

I accept that different countries have their own use of the term, ‘liberal.’ However, Nazis WERE socialists, and NOT because they were trying to appeal to 'both sides.' Joseph Goebbels, in an official exposition of the ideology and logic behind the synthesis of Nationalism and Socialism, explained it to "counter the Internationalism of Marxism with the nationalism of a German Socialism." Nor did Mein Kampf try to ‘appeal’ to both sides. Socialism has had great variance in theory and application.

Socialists are not only to the left, but can be to the right as well. Bolsheviks were very far to the left, it's true- but there are many forms of socialism. My answer to Berni is as follows: 1. Eliminate all the loopholes for US corporate taxes. 2. Reduce defense spending. 3. Introduce a special tax for people earning more than USD2m per year, but eliminate the tax loopholes before. 4. Increase energy taxes, but compensate to the same extent by reducing sales tax. 5. Introduce apprenticeship system (like in Germany/Switzerland), where people right after high school get into the working process.

In a labor market, a wage floor above the market equilibrium wage reduces the quantity of labor demanded (for firms, due to the need for cutting costs), while increasing the quantity of labor supplied (since more people have an incentive to see work due to a higher available wage). This creates a surplus of labor--or what a moron like you would call unemployment! Minimum wage forces employers to discriminate against low skilled labor.
