  • @SceneboyGROWL of course they are not friends, even so, Azathoth is Yog-Sothoth's superior. and just because he created something doesn't mean he HAS to love it, or even be friends with it :P. but yes, perhaps we should do just that

  • @SceneboyGROWL my bad, still, my point still stands that he willed them into existence :P. haha, would you believe thats EXACTLY how i describe Azathoth to people? the darkness before time itself began... haha, small world :P

and i don't own spore, i am just a firm H.P.Lovecraft lover, and a am very interested in the Cthulhu mythos

  • @SceneboyGROWL ahh, but i'm not trying to say who's a GOD or not. i'm just saying their power, and even titles are roughly the same. they both walk the earth from time to time (Cthulhu being trapped and all), and Cthulhu is high preist while Nyarlathotep is messenger. both are equally important, because when you think about it, it's kinda like a lap race with every person handing the baton to the other. Cthulhu gives it to Nyarlathotep, Nyarlathotep gives it to Yog-Sothoth, and he to Azathoth

  • @SceneboyGROWL i mean related as in Azathoth formed them all. they basically popped out of his dream and became reality. like a guy waking up from a hangover and finding all his imaginary friends all over the place :P. and Hastur lives in Carcosa, which is the land of dreams. so i guess i kinda assumed he is more of an astral being then a physical one

  • @SceneboyGROWL i know that, but rather then an actual BEING, i mean it's more accurate to say he's a manifestation of time and space, because that's exactly what he is. same way Azathoth is a manifestation of darkness and chaos and it is inaccurate to refer to him as a "he", same with Shub-Niggurath, because she is a shapeshifter. same with Hastur, because he is an astral entity and so fourth

  • @SceneboyGROWL it's cool :P

  • @SceneboyGROWL umm...no. Hastur is mentioned in the "Cthulhu mythos" multiple times, as is the yellow sign. he is Cthulhu's half brother, and they are arch enemies (although i think Hastur takes it more as a joke then anything. not to say he's an asshole, he's not not very serious). also, Hastur is one of the honored deity's worshiped by the "Mi-Go" race (although they had a falling out, and Hastur actually despises them now)

  • @SceneboyGROWL just so you know, i commented

  • @SceneboyGROWL also, ALL of them are related in some way, shape or form. Azathoth dreamed of them, and they all just kinda...happened. actually, via linage, Cthulhu SHOULD be higher ranked then MANY gods, but because of the incident, he is trapped on earth and cannot receive his right. in fact, as i recall, the earth was given to him as a GIFT, because he did so well in a great war or another. the only other person to receive a PLANET is Hastur. Cthulthu is high priest, Nyarlathotep is messanger

  • @SceneboyGROWL actually, Dagon acts as his Avatar, rather then his bodyguard. but it was stated he does this out of a bond, friendship, rather then duty. no one is close to Yog-Sothoth but Azathoth himself, because Yog-Sothoth is more of a place and time rather then a being. (best way to describe Yog-Sothoth is a heap of infinitely intelligent, rational, and thoughtful bubbles)...it's hard to explain, so i apologize but you are just gonna have to do with the metaphor

  • @SceneboyGROWL besides, Cthulhu played a very large and key role in defeated the elder god's to gain a foothold on the universe (which also plays a role on why he's stuck on earth in the firstplace). and through his efforts and victory's, he not only befriended Dagon, but he even got Yog-Sothoth's favor, and Yog-Sothoth is also VERY close to Azathoth (relationship wise). so i HIGHLY doubt Cthulhu is just another "monster"

  • @SceneboyGROWL "Azathoth's". and Cthulhu is not just a "monster". he is the half-brother of Hastur, whom everyone familiar with the mythos knows is royalty, and is the ruler of tricks, dreams, and madness. and Hastur is married to Shub-Niggurath. who is also a god and a good friend of Azathoth's. (and i doubt Shub-Niggurath would have noticed someone of lesser ranking or power then her, which is why i mentioned the relationship). which means Cthulhu has roughly the same power as a god

  • @SceneboyGROWL actually, Nyarlathotep and Cthulhu are around the same power rankings. the only difference is what they specialize in. Nyarlathotep in science, psychology, physics, occult rituals, and necromancy (his powers revolve around destruction). while Cthulhu in tactics, leadership, architecture, philosophy, and magic (his powers revolve around spirituality).

  • I could kik this guys ass... im way badaser. I AM CTHULU! DIE!

  • will it vomit from it's crotch if it has a hangover?

  • ... as the Crawling Chaos commands...

  • mouth dick much? *trollface*

  • That was so cool! The dance was hilarious! But don't tell Nyarlathotep that!

  • its mouth is vagina?

  • i have know idea what this is all i know is that its cool

  • @nekrosoe Nyarlathotep is being from HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. He is an alien creature that serves a group of aliens known as the Other Gods. While the Other Gods are mindless or incomprehensible, Nyarlathotep knows right from wrong, but doesn't care. He also enjoys to drive people insane.

  • If he screams from his crotch I'd hate to see what he farts from.

  • @ReverendSyn maybe his nightmarish, unimaginably horrifically terrifying scream is his fart too :P

  • lol nice

  • the whole book was fucked up 2 me but nyarlathotep is pretty awsome

  • Isn't that the Bloody Tongue? not the howler in the darkness?

  • Oh man, just when I thought it was going to start out being a standard Spore showcase, the dance totally threw me off guard and had me laughing like mad.

    Bravo my friend, bravo!

  • lol the bloody tongue

btw you should make a version of him thats yellow with a red head/tongue

  • Nyarlathotep was always a d**khead as a god messenger. Who sends a bunch of arab-resembling minions to capture Randolph Carter if they know the cats of Ulthar are gonna rip them to shreds?

...yeah, I read Lovecraft too much.

  • "even as you know from the deeds of those who sought to deliver you into my hands, whilst I myself harboured no wish to shatter you, and would indeed have helped you hither long ago had I not been elsewhere busy, and certain that you would yourself find the way."

Nyarlathotep didn't send them, they just believed that they were following his will.

  • Huh, haven't made it that far. To me, carter just escaped the gug city and helped the cats defeat the zoogs.

  • I've finished the novel.

He lied about his intentions, so he could've lied about not sending them...

  • Those. Cats Were. Awesome!

  • Based on Nyarlathotep's behaviour in general, it's extremely likely that his statements to Cater were entirely false. He seems to be after causing maximal pain and suffering in his victims, but especially confusion and madness. He would probably have no issue at all with sending his own men into a horrible ambush.

  • True, but also...

"Nyarlathotep, the crawling chaos, awaited in vain"

He might have been expecting them to be succesful after all.

  • which story is that one cause Nyarlathotep is in alot stories

    woots for the black pharoh

  • Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath. He's the main antagonist.

  • I loved that cat part. But what about dogs?

  • Well... in "the whisperer in darkness", the mi-go make short work of Akeley's dogs.

  • Its mouth may even be in her....

  • Its mouth is right in his...

    Eeeeew

  • the way he moves gives me the shivers

  • Tell me you're joking o.o

  • anybody tried making a canis tind'losi yet?

  • accurate

  • Awesome.

  • That a true Nyarlathotep ! Good job. I leave 5.

  • The sounds are cool

    Very good

  • hehehehe

  • Cool and terrifying, I vote 5.

  • Heh heh, so that is what they do went they aren't inciting chaos and fear.

  • oh hell yes! my only criticism here is that... he's green. Well, the tentacle is green, but it should be red.

  • Pretty close but bloodbrigade hit the nail on the head on this one. 5/5 and faved.

  • Needs more BLACK and SHARP TEETH.
