This is truly disturbing to me. To refer to great groups of people with long, powerful histories as living in darkness... the level of smugness and patronization is truly sad. Anybody that has had a chance to truly spend time in, absorb and respect a foreign culture can attest to the fact that the level of richness that is there is something not to lose. We need to learn to share from our separate cultures and beliefs, and take the strong from each. We cannot simply make other conform to us.
@MichaelTHebert Wrong. Men and Women not found believing in Jesus alone for God's approval will be cast into hell. they must repent and trust in Jesus. all other roads lead to hell
what a shameful group they want evryone in the world to be converted to christianity, what shameful sub human creatures u r a waste for oxygen instead distribute condoms in africa tht wud be much better for humanity motherfuckin reatrds
@thescorpionking2020 So Christians are waste' of oxygen according to you? Well, you obviously don't love people. Why give condoms out if you don't love people?
The clear mandate in the Scriptures is to 'make disciples', not 'go'. Make disciples is the only command verb in the Great Commission. As we're making disciples, we're going into the nations.... evangelization of the nations is only the beginning - the real work is in making Christ like disciples in those nations.
@sls2labs The last time I checked, Matthew 28:19 states clearly: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." The word "go" is definitely in there. Which version were you reading?
@leprasia Well, @sls2labs is right, is a translation issue. Check the Greek text, the commandment is to make disciples, the how is by going and baptizing etc...
Did he just try to justify colonial missions? Americans going to do missions in an asian or african country is a huge waste of money. Think about the costs of travel, the time it takes to learn the language etc. For the money that you would spend to take a flight to India for example is enough to build a church building that could hold 200+ people. A native Indian missionary can live on a dollar a day whereas a white missionary wouldn't survive in those circumstances without some luxuries.
@MrPunnoosej You are so wrong. Any cost, whether financially or physically, is worth redeeming one soul from the pit of hell, for eternity. There are so many unreached people groups in this world. Whoever will go - whether Americans, Hispanics, Koreans - it doesn't matter. We must go and give them "God Talk". There are people begging us to come. Jesus is worth more than that.
Joshua Project is awesome! I always use that website. Great vid. One disagreement though. Just sending money can lead to laziness and dependence, especially when no accountability structure is in place, yes. However, if done correctly that won't happen. If missionaries are only given average cost of living expenses and additional funds for ministry purposes only, and if missionaries become self supporting after churches are established, how can this be viewed as dependency?
It would appear that Satan is doing his best to reach every last person in the world. After all, that is who you are worshipping, isn't it? Oh yes, I do realize that's not the name you are using, but a rose by any other name still has thorns.

I condemn the Joshua Project and its attempts at cultural genocide in the name of the Almighty. For shame!

Great video! There is nothing more important than getting the word to those who have never heard.

Biblical missions is an invasion of love and meaningful relationships, not an establishment of a religious hegemony.

Wouldn't the definition of dependency instead, be an American missionary who requires $50,000 a year and never goes self supporting?
