I love BMW's. I've had an American car (1995 Ford Thunderbird with over 200,000 miles still runs strong), right now I have a Japanese car (2005 Mazda RX8), and I'd love for my next car to be a BMW, GTI, or some European car. Kinda pricey but I love the sound of a BMW with a nasty BOV. Switching from recirculating to venting usually doesn't cause any horrific damage for most turbo cars. Just runs rich for a split second.

you should not of put a blow off valve in a 335 your going to loose power.... the turbos were ment to recirculate the air therefore you should of just got better diverter valves and you would keep your power instead of loosing it... but it does sound nice

cars with MAFs should recirc not blow off, as the air is accounted for by the MAF but blow off before the engine, this ends up with a rich mixture and less power. The DME will cotton on and either throw a code over the O2 sensors or jsut go limp

i received the info from 2 different mags online. further, i own a 2007 335i twin turbo and took it to a shop in orangevale, ca. the dino test, 3 times, registered 360 HP. i learned that BMW is sandbagging the HP because it's quicker than the new M3...not by much. also, insurance reasons. i have the coup which is very hard to get. before this, i owned a 2006 mustang GT, which had 300HP. believe me, the BMW is quicker!! it will sink your body into the seat.., mustang wouldnt.
the 335i has two small turbos instead of one big turbo,one for low rpm and one for higher rpm's so there is little if no turbo lag at all, at least none that is noticible. the new 911 Turbo uses the technology.
That's a cool sound, but the factory blow off valve re-routes the boost air back into the inlet of the turbo, resulting in a better throttle response between shifts (and quiet operation). You just traded off performance for noise.
I need some of you BMW buffs to answer a question for me. This is my third BMW and it's the 335i, people use to tell me about putting a chip in my first two cars which will unlock the top speed limiter and increase the horsepower, is this true? If that's the case I would like to do that with my 335i, and where can I get this installed?
The 335 is fairly new, therefore give it some time for tuners to develop products. Vishnu tuning currently makes a chip, in which you gain 60-80 more horsepower at the wheels. Search youtube for Vishnu 335. Dinan is in the works for making software tuning for the 335 as well.
QUESTION: Did you void your warranty in order to make the custom pipe and BOV? TO answer the other question it sounds like a diesel when its in neutral
BOV will not make the car any slower at all! pretty much serve no practical purpose except the awesome noise, and will prolong the life of the turbos as theyre not still spinning when they dont need to be. they could possibly cause a bit of lag on a car with one big turbo as it will have lost momentum as it starts to "spin" again.
this 335i is awesome, any body dissing it does not know there ass from there elbow, as seen above!!!
Thank you to all that had something positive to say. The setup that was in the car at the time the video was shot cost around $100 for the fabrication of the pipe and $200 for the BOV.

Original N54 engine has blow off valve.
It's small and cheap plastic.
So this owner replaced slightly large and more reliable after parts.

lol shut the fuck up dude, of course a ferrari is going to sound like a monster on roids, why else would you shell out $300,000+ on a fucking car? The point of having a bov on a setup is to save the turbo from damage at high boost levels, although I wouldn't be shocked if fanboys like you get it 'for that uber-fucking-cool woosh sound'. So please realize what you're saying before you try to be the cool guy and minimize someone else's efforts on the cars they OWN.

i received the info from 2 different mags online. further, i own a 2007 335i twin turbo and took it to a shop in orangevale, ca. the dino test, 3 times, registered 360 HP. i learned that BMW is sandbagging the HP because it's quicker than the new M3...not by much. also, insurance reasons. i have the coup which is very hard to get. before this, i owned a 2006 mustang GT, which had 300HP. believe me, the BMW is quicker!! it will sink your body into the seat.., mustang wouldnt.

the 335i has two small turbos instead of one big turbo,one for low rpm and one for higher rpm's so there is little if no turbo lag at all, at least none that is noticible. the new 911 Turbo uses the technology.

That's a cool sound, but the factory blow off valve re-routes the boost air back into the inlet of the turbo, resulting in a better throttle response between shifts (and quiet operation). You just traded off performance for noise.

I need some of you BMW buffs to answer a question for me. This is my third BMW and it's the 335i, people use to tell me about putting a chip in my first two cars which will unlock the top speed limiter and increase the horsepower, is this true? If that's the case I would like to do that with my 335i, and where can I get this installed?

The 335 is fairly new, therefore give it some time for tuners to develop products. Vishnu tuning currently makes a chip, in which you gain 60-80 more horsepower at the wheels. Search youtube for Vishnu 335. Dinan is in the works for making software tuning for the 335 as well.

BOV will not make the car any slower at all! pretty much serve no practical purpose except the awesome noise, and will prolong the life of the turbos as theyre not still spinning when they dont need to be. they could possibly cause a bit of lag on a car with one big turbo as it will have lost momentum as it starts to "spin" again.
this 335i is awesome, any body dissing it does not know there ass from there elbow, as seen above!!!

1. BOV does NOT make the car slower.
2. Does NOT introduce turbo lag.
3. This car is MAP based which means no MAF sensors to go bad.
4. On the 335i performance is not hindered by BOV in any way.
Some of you guys should do your homework before posting.

Thank you to all that had something positive to say. The setup that was in the car at the time the video was shot cost around $100 for the fabrication of the pipe and $200 for the BOV.
