  • I don't get it. First you say they launch in a stuttering fashion, yet hit 100mph in 1.5 seconds.  Earlier you also said the theoretical 1/4 mile would be 6.97, which doesn't match up with a 0-100 time of 1.5 seconds.

    Most of those Supras and M3s run under 500HP to make sure they last. When they go on a drag strip with 1200HP, it is on race gas and enough boost to completely and utterly destroy the powertrain, especially the engine. While it is still cheaper, it is definitely not easier to maintain. Not by a long margin.

    How that HP is delivered is another story. Equal weight, no 1000HP Supra can match Veyron's 1/4 miles.

  • I completely yawned throughout that entire comment. Supras and M3's (I forgot to mention Skylines and Vettes) don't produce their maximum power all the time, and neither does the Veywrong. Doing it all the time would kill either car. And it's cheaper and easier to maintain since you don't need a fat ass wallet and some specialized team to maintain it. Race fuel, that's irrelevant.

Always been a fan of the McLaren F1 and have hopes the Koenigsegg CCXR might one day break the speed record. HOWEVER, I do respect Veyron's engineering achievement and dislike when some retard compares it to tuned Supra with a reliability of 10 1/4 launches.

    96 was the year Schumacher went to ferrari as world champ, hence bringing the number 1 with him. Having won it the year before with Benneton.

  • Not a huge fan of this Ferrari. Think 1992 Ferrari was the last one that looked the best before this. The 2002+ cars are awesome but I'm looking forward to next year when they should get back to looking like simple high powered racing cars that they are.

  • the high nose cone came as early as 1991 not '93, i remember michael schumacher in the beneton at the aussie GP and the tyrrels had it too. personally i think the '90s high nose cones looked weird but they look good now... in the 90's they were just too pronounced.

    Like Jeiking said, that car won 2 races, but not the championchip. It have the number one, because M. Schumacher won the championchip 1995 in the benneton and he took the number to ferrari.

  • No doubt I agree with you. I just didn't like the fact that Ferrari Short cutted the car after Spain. The car looked really sleek before they put the fabricated high nose on. Now in terms of sound, nothing sounds better than the lady in the red dress with that dancing horse on the side.

  • This Ferrari isn't ugly. I think its one of the most beautiful especially with the number one and the number two with the red helmet of Irvine. One of the last ones with gold rims. But everyones taste is diferent;)

    2009 cars are ugly but maybe you are getting used to it and they will get more beautifull later in the season or next year.

  • I'm just saying its a distinct possibility, F1 is traditionally a showcase for technology. Hence next year is back to slicks and aerodynamic limits to promote braking and gearbox development. Even right now Audi have been winning Le Mans with a turbo diesel, Eddie Irvine and Mika Hakkinen have both mentioned AWD and turbo diesels are not impossible in the future. Not saying it'll happen but still, it could.
