I don´t know if you guys knows this. But there´s a science-fiction book called "The Ice People" by Maggie Gee.
I found out about this movie on imdb and I thought it was an adaptation from Gee´s book, but it´s not.
However, the plot of the movie is about a woman who wrote a sci-fi book. Can anyone explain to me if there is a relation between this movie and Maggie Gee´s book?
I don't understand why people don't like this. I for one love this. I watch it over and over. Yes, it's weird, but sometimes weird is good. I like this short story and I like the ending. They basically used Rimini and made her want to kill herself, and continued using her after she dies. All she was ever worth to anyone was a pretty image.
This movie is so lame, not to mention stupid and ridiculous. I mean what´s wrong with that girl Rimini, she can´t act she looks like she´s high or drunk all the time. Really bad choice for Kate.
you know, i dont think getting caught up in a storm of publicity so quickly only to have your downfall also occur so suddenly would make you want to just jump into an ocean. moennig definitely improved the overall balance/oddity of this movie, i enjoyed it.
Honestly, I think this movie was made as a vehicle for Kate - yeah, even though it was the director's first project - because Nina Brosh (who played Remini) sooo could not act. So you're drawn to Kate and her character just by default. I think Kate did a fantastic job, even for it being her first proper acting part.
It could have been a lot better with more time to explain what was going on, and a bit more depth to the storyline.
Katherine Moennig did the best she could with this role, its good to see that good actors like her can make a story with such a strange storyline at least a little interesting.
Wanja (Kate) is an author, but because she's not what people would call "attractive", she uses Rimini (or whatever her name was)and her beauty to get her novel published. Then gets jealous of all the attention she's getting and trys to let the truth out.
Rimini founds out that she's being used, and commits suicide.
I found this movie to be confusing =/
If anyone can, please explain what is so brilliant about this movie, because to me, it's boring.
Anyway. The tag line of IMDB is 'in a frozen world, the perfect icon is an exquisite corpse'. Take what you will from the film. I think its a comment on success/fame and how its not necessarily based on talent but what will sell etc, the 'icy' or not so genuine people that can 'help' you get there. In the end it was the 'real' writer who was the success so god knows.
The point isnt obvious but its a short, and meant to make you think so take from it what you want.
this movie was only 20 minutes long and in those few minutes it made me so glad i didn't have a life as depressing as that. very well done. kate goes without saying. :)
But... but... this is the worst movie i've ever seen! And the Japanese girl is scary! O_O

Has anyone noticed that in all of Kate's role she wears the same type of clothes and plays similar roles.
Love Kate, she's awesome. But this was weird and didn't make sense.

Okkkk... that was really hard to follow.

Oh, and i wouldn't really call it a horror....

wow, Kate was really good in this. it's refreshing to see her in a role that's much more outspoken than Shane.

Ok I'm not sure I got the plot of the movie.

I didn't force you to read my comment idiot.
It would only take a Dumbass to read the comments on the video BEFORE they finish watching it.
