If your camera gets away from you, you could very easily not have enough to catch it. Riding a roller coaster is much more ocmplexe than Newtons Law of Gravity son. Thats why it is PROHIBITED to have cameras on rides. You must have been lucky, as most operators would confiscate it. Ive seen it happen.

Gshoven, you never realized that when you go over a hill, you experience negative G's - G-forces pushing you up. THis is called airtime. Sometimes, the pop is big enough to make ypu lift up faster than you could expect. THe lap bars/belts stop you from flying out fo the car.
duh, but what does this have to do with the camera flying back and hitting the person behind me. if the camera flies up it would still be traveling at the same speed as the car, and if anything just fall of the side of the coaster. Also the camera was strapped around my arm so even if I wasn't holding the camera it wouldn't have fallen off. so quit complaining.
