Hi I don't know what we're looking at. What I do know is that John is filming the moon from 25,000 miles away with a 12" scope and s getting better images than nasa in some places. There are two moon playlists if you'd like to see more. Most of playlist 1 was done through an 8" scope and 2 with the 12". The newer films are closer and clearer. We even show where apollo landed in a couple of them. Enjoy!

He films close by sticking a video camera up to the focuser and just into the digital zoom range (you can see the method on episode 35 where he gets all excited by Saturn's moon.) THAT's why the resolution is so poor and known objects look questionable. You can NOT just extend the focal plane without some consequences and distortion!

Eight years ago I was performing at a concert on stage and there was a film being made of it. JLW was the film guy that produced the final version. I wqas in the studio one day and he came over with a video camera of some footage which ended up on the rense website under a different name. We kept in touch over the years seeing each other 4 or five times a year. The footage and his skills progressed so quickly over the last couple of years that last year we came together to start this project.

I want to know why Mr. Walson will not let anyone know what he is using to get these pictrures. Can't he get it patented and then revel it. If you are able to get these type of close-ups i think it is important enough for to have some type of coraboration.

It is an absoulute boon in Astronmy. I have a 6 inch Criterian when I was young and i have look through some expensive scopes and University scoopes nothing like what he does.
