mac os 9 was freakin awesome, then aqua was awesome as well. then, when lion came out, apple started to change badly. the macbook is dead, the mac mini has no optical drive, lion can only be used as a downloadable content instead of a disc, and aqua is starting to dry up! :( i want the mac os x tiger apple back!!!!!1

Forced obsolescence is extremely painful, e.g. my old Amiga would still have the horsepower to run Pine for mail and a very lightweight browser, i.e. Links... if anybody cared to port them to Amiga.

I have a graphite coloured one. Most beautiful gadget I think I ever bought. Such a shame they were outdated so fast. I still have two macs though. MacBook and a G4. As well as an iPod Touch. I'd never, ever have an IBM computer.

I booted up my old original iMac G3 recently (after five years in a cupboard) and it ran like a dream. Felt strange using OS9, but still, it ran perfectly.

I SO miss the colorful iMacs. There was even texture to them! Today's Apple products look way too plain. Meanwhile, my mom has a pink ASUS laptop and I have a gold-colored HP laptop, both with nice details.

I'd be tempted to replace the innards of an old iMac with a Mac Mini and an LCD monitor. It's still the best-looking computer I'd ever seen, in my opinion.
