  • This was when they weren't afraid to have Batman kill someone.

  • This game was freaking hard, that's all I remember about it.

  • Batman's hardcore! He threw that bitch off the Cathedral!

  • I remember I sat down and played this game through a few years ago one evening. As a kid, I pnly ever beat it using a Game Genie, but that evening, I just plowed through the entire game in under an hour. I knew that it was hard, but I honestly remember it being harder than it felt like at that point... or maybe I just gor that much better during my years. Who knows?

  • @Megatyrant Edit: pnly = only. :P

    Blasted keyboard... *grumbles*

  • Now you will dance with the pale moonlight

    DOODOODOODOOOOOOoooooooo...

  • 0:22 Ahh, there's nothing like 2nd degree murder in an old NES game! Thnx raven

  • only once did i manage to beat this game

  • Cool music! But the Joker murdered Batman's parents? And then he throws him off of the building? WTF?!

Wow, Jack Nicholson's 8-bit Joker face is creepy.

  • This game was actually quite enjoyable. I loved the music in the early stages, very epic.

  • THE JOKER........DIEEEEE??????

    joker never,I said NEVER die.

so Tim Burton Hate joker jajajajajajaja

  • wow, they turned batman int o a killer.

  • *sigh* Thanks, it's not that I didn't PLAY the game, it's that I didn't BEAT the game, let alone pass level 3!

  • i beat the joker! i dont care what anyone tells you. buds. use your fists! i swear it on my life. jump the jokers initial shots then get next to his ass with out takeing damage. and punch the shit out of him. hell run through you and youll take a hit wait for his shots again jump over them do the same thing. hell run through you again takeing one more hit. do the same bullshit and i asuure you.. you do this right and hell drop. use your fist. and youll need three men in case of failure.NOT easy

  • seriously man. this game has the best ending of all games. no pussy batman here. this batman is harder than batman begins. he spat the truth in that dudes face and threw that punk bitch of the fucking building. lol! that was the best. youd think it was a kids game hed call the police like a herb. no sir.. batman is about throwing assholes off of buildings. when i was a kid i never realized how serious an ending it was till i beat it again 2 years ago. batman murdered that son of a bitch. gold!

  • this proves that games dont need huge endings and sh*t.

all you need is seeing the jokers body on the groung to prove that the game is awesome!!

  • damn batman was a fucking bad ass. zero time for small talk, just throw the mutha fucka off the side of the castle. damn, if we had more heroes like THIS, then we would have less villains like THAT

  • You defeated him! As AVGN said : If you actually defeat him, you deserve a medal =)

  • haha, thats hilarious! The Joker looks huge compared to Batman, more like Bane

  • I love the detail in NES games, and this is no exception. The city looks awesome.

  • Nobuyki Kun. ( the man in charge of music according to credits) Thank you for music that will last a lifetime. Cheers!

  • @wpsdd There were 2 guy, Nobuyuki Kun and Kodaka San.

I don't know who's in charge, but Kun means something like young boy, and San means something like Mister. Japanese generaly are respectful to elders and people with charges and mostly any San would go before any Kun, I don't know why they placed Nobuyuki kun before Kodaka San.

  • @albertoalejandro0424 In those days it was common for people who worked on a game to go by pseudonyms in the credits, including silly ones like "Fish Man" (as seen in Mega Man 2's credits). Those are probably just the pseudonyms those two (or more, sometimes one name was used for multiple people like in the case of Capcom's "Yuki-chan's Papa") chose, and the honorifics don't have any real significance.

  • The Joker always beated me in the final stage :(

    A must for the NES!

  • if it wasnt for youtube i never wouldve seen how this game ended. after joker kill me several times im like: ok i seen how this game ends, i consider it beaten

  • damn - i could never beat the joker.

  • what a dark ending

  • for real is kind of fuck up

  • I always wondered how this ended... Never did get around to beating it.

  • Same here. Always died on the level with the T.V screens. They should of gave you passwords or something. Oh how games have changed over the years.

  • there was a thing called game gene you could beat the games with lol.

  • Wow!! Batman is so cold blooded.

  • this game used to piss me off when i was a kid...it still does.

  • whys that?

  • that game is awesome. batman would have never killed him like that though.

  • For all of you who remember this, how many of you beat this with the NES Advantage? Still the single greatest controller EVER!!!

  • well this means u deserve a metal for beating the joker.

  • good one angry video game nerd !)

  • Oh man that was sweet! lol

  • i have never beat this game :/

  • Why were they fighting on a castle lol?

  • Because that's where the final scene in the 1989 movie Batman takes place. Except it doesn't end like that in the movie lol.

  • It's the cathedral.

  • Never did kill the joker, so thanks for posting. Nes graphics when drawn properly are still lush and comic like.

  • this was my favourite game, not only dark and sexy, but the music was so fantastic. I loved it! 80s generation the best!

  • I never made it that far in the game.

  • Batman's a killer!!! lolololol

  • at the end when joker dies it looks like he has a moustache

  • A tribute to Cesar Romero maybe?

  • Y'know, I cracked up like hell at this ending. You'd think Bat would just apprehend the Joker and bring to justice but NOOOOOOOO! He just throws him off of a building.

  • Yeah Batman doesn't kill

  • @SuperCruiser72 It's how the movie ended, sort of. He didn't throw him off. He caused it, though

  • @SuperCruiser72 i know you posted like 2 year ago about the batman nes game ending but i had to tell you that i totaly agree. this is a mans game M for manly!! its awsome to the pointe you killed my folks and now your gonna die. yolk his ass up and threw that bich off the building. hahaha you would think hed have the cops come right? lol!

  • >>>>>>>"they dont make memorable music for NES"

They don't make anything for the NES anymore because it's DEAD!

  • I Don't Remember Batman Telling Joker That He'll Dance With The Devil In The Movie. I Only Remember Joker Telling That To Batman.

  • Batman asked him that. there is a clip of it on youtube.

  • i loved nes games because it always reminded me of my youth plus i could never beat the third stage LOVED this game along with zelda and mario

  • song kicks ass once they roll the credits...love NES music

  • I remember this ending too ^^ glad you posted this. a fave indeed^^

  • ha actually this one was my favorite out of the 3. i liked the gameplay in this one. Even though the last stage is fuckin hard as all hell.

  • ive never played this one. ive played returns only on sega, not snes( though i heard its way diff and better) and i own the sega ver of batman forever which despite most peoples opinion i love

  • @Ravonox This game is actually really cool, and I would callt his my favorite batman game
