  • i like your choice for websites. haha i live out of cheaper than dirt. great video man

  • i was really skeptical about DPMS.. i have always had Stag Arms (model 3) ... but i recently purchased a DPMS oracle and quite frankly, i'm impressed... nice set up on yours by the way. Good looking piece and looks quite functional.. no unnecessary features. Good job.

  • @SillyCampers It is very functional, I wish some of the stuff was lighter. With everything on there the AR15 is prolly twice as heavy as it was outta the box. I love its effectiveness, but usually I would put a bi-pod on it and become a stationary gunner.

  • Thanks for the video man now I'm decided on a dpms oracle for my AR!

  • Oh this makes me wanna go home and get some time at the range with my Oracle. Mines all stock except for a vortex red/green dot. Love this gun.

  • I need to make a vid on my ar as it is the same one but I have also made upgrades

as well.Good vid and nice ar you have.

  • I'm getting my DPMS Oracle on Tuesday. For now I'm just going to install some flip-up iron sights, but in the near future I plan to get my optics setup exactly like yours. So my question is, where and what brand is that quad rail? As you already know, in order to get both of those optics on I'll need a quad rail that lays flush with the upper receiver railing. So it would really helpful if you could point me in the right direction. Thank man, and great video.

  • @tyleva1221 Looks like he lives in the country. Nobody cares. Literally no one cares in the country.¯\(ツ)/¯

  • I purchased an oracle and would like advice to which front and rear sights to buy since the gas block is not leveled with the top railing.

  • @NeoUmChangSaeKki Im in the same boat. I just got mine 3 days ago and Im not sure about it, Also is there a certain type of rail system you have to get to fit over the gas block? I plan on getting a Midwest rail hand guard sometime down the line.

  • I am looking at purchasing this rifle. I have a couple questions. Is the buffer tube mil-spec or commercial? Does it have the M4 feed ramps? If you could answer these questions for me i would appreciate it greatly.

  • Just wanted to let you know that you do a great job!!

  • are you allowed to shoot from your front door like that? even with the back-drop?

  • @tyleva1221 depends if you live in town or out in the country. hell, out in the boonies where i live, as long as its a a target and not an animal, you can shoot out your bedroom window. i have

  • Question? How much was the Optics? including the magnifyer? could you tell how much each cost that you have, and one more question?, I have the Standard iron sight's front and rear it's a DPMS M-4 carbine 16" barrel, do I have to completely change the upper reciever to mount this Optic system? I'm thinking I will because just by looking at yours I see no way it could fit, I'm just learning about the different accesories, so I'm a little in the dark.

    Thank;s for any info.

  • @jackm3r the optics kit give or take was about $1000 for both, you shouldnt have to rebuild the upper, mine just came with what they called optics ready and it was flat top already.

  • Why dont you check out Coleman Tyler??? Not as big as ones you mentioned but I think they have cheaper prices...

  • I seriously thought the target was a picture of John Wayne Gacy...hahaha

  • I'm left-handed and I was wondering if there would be a issue with shells ejected in my face

  • about to get one of these how much do you have invested in it? minus the scope

  • what is the backdrop you are firing into? do you ever have any ricochet?

  • @2010GrandSportVette Nope we are shooting into a wood pile, never had a ricochet from it... yet.

  • @mrbkrn1987 thanks man i was just wondering. nice gun by the way

  • @mrbkrn1987 I've been wanting to piece together an ar15 for a while now and been considering using mostly yankee hill and lmt lower with MUR stripped upper because my girlfriend works at a local gun store and gets decent prices. My question is though the finished price is roughly 1000$ for the build but for the dpms i saw a kit for 460 plus my stripped lower so it would be around 530$. Do you think dpms is worth it to spend right now or would you personally just wait to save up the other $450?

  • @tenser626 its hard to say, I mean if you have little or no exp with lower assembly Id avoided it. But if you have no rush just sit back save a little more cash and then go big later so you dont go broke cause there is always more than just the gun, there is ammo (lots when an AR), mags, optics, cases, slings, and numerous other accessories.

  • Nice vid !! Love the backyard , Like the rifle , it could use a ambi mag release since you're lefty . And please , please watch your muzzle , couple times it was all over the house . Godspeed .

  • Hello. I just have a few questions for you sir. I too have a DPMS Oracle and would like to have a similar set up as your rifle. I see the parts you have listed above and they're very helpful. However, I was wondering what make and model was your quad rail and where you purchased it. Also, did you need a rail riser to run an EOTech combo optics? If so, what make and model was it? Thank you very much sir. Looking forward to your reply.

  • Paranormal brass theif at 3:22. WTF

  • @21KiNgDoM4 father in law.

  • Nice gun, I just bought a dpms oracle and after getting it and looking it over and playing with it I traded it in with out shooting it. After doiong some research I found out that it wasnt a Milspec and it was made with safter metals, not a big deal really. My ? is why buy an oracle and pimp it out when you could have bought top of the line ar? Its the same money in the long run any how just something to think about when you buy your next one.. And you will buy another one

  • I just bought this gun. I want to use it for hogs, white tail and elk hunting. I know big stretch. I'm not a marksman by all means and admit it. How should I set up this gun for 100-550 yd shoots. Is it possible? Can you recommend a scope that is this versatile.

  • Picked up the Oracle and few other items to upgrade it. What did you use for a sling attachment...Magpul?

  • did u have to put a riser on the gas rail? i watched a couple of reviews saying that the front rail is a little lower than back rail

  • Got lucky today. Out of 23 Oracles they had yesterday they had 13 plus the display model. Anyway I found this at Cheaper Than Dirt and saw this BUIS, Yankee Hill Machine YHM-9584. Is this something like what you were talking about?

  • @The1MOA thanks for the assist.

  • @The1MOA Right on man, thanks for the support, tired of haters.

  • I have no experience with either but an friend of mine just told me that he is using Magpul and has had no problems. I just hope that they have the Oracle in stock when I get there. Thanks

  • Where would I find a riser? I was reading in one article that the Magpul may melt slightly due to the heat and a Yankee Hill was recommended.

  • @vince12345ize -riser: well most gun stores would carry things like, but if not cheaper than dirt.com or midway usa. I have never had mag pul sights melt before, I could see how that would be possible if you were running lots of ammo through a gun... But to be honest man I dont have an answer for you on that. I guess im 1 for 3 on this post cause I have no exp with yankee hill either to comment in a positive or a negative sense, let me know what you end up doing.

  • @vince12345ize buy magpro sights they wont melt

  • Mag pul is the way to go, sometimes you need a riser for the gas block. good luck enjoy.

  • I will be picking up a DPMS Oracle in the morning if they still have them in stock for $600. Since the gas block is slightly lower than the top rail, what did you use or is recommended for the front sight? Mag Pull was recommended but unsure if it would work. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the response. I haven't fired a M-16 since I was in the military (70's) and it was either single or full auto. I have been toying with the idea of purchasing one and saw this one on sale. One last question, is the weapon made to military specs with no plastic parts in the receiver area?

  • @vince12345ize I will make a disclaimer so the haters can't say anything, but from my knowledge there are multiple Oracles types. The model I had was what they refer to as optics ready and had rails on it for mounting optics, but had no carry handle like most if not all of the military issued versions. As far as I could tell of all the internals are steel. The only plastic on my oracle were the stock and the hand grip.

-Thanks for the question, depending on where you are I wouldnt pay more

  • @mrbkrn1987 $750-$800 i have a great dealer in rural Cincinnati, Ohio that got me my model for $650. Once you get up there you might be be better off to spend $200 more and get a S&W or Bushmaster. I don't endorse Colt anymore because there quality in the last decade has fallin off sharply, a lot of there models are sub contracted out and parts come from any 3rd world country you can think of. DPMS is made in America and they have pioneered varying models of the AR platform....

  • @mrbkrn1987 being the 1st manufacture to make AR's in different calibers.

  • I would like to take a second and defend my DPMS AR-15. I have had a lot of negative comments made about the DPMS being garbage by purists of different companies such as Colt/S&W and Bushmasters. Let me say that my DPMS was my first AR and getting into the gun world was an expensive endevour and ppl cant always afford a high level AR. I have put close to 10k of both .223 & 5.56mm rounds through my DPMS with only 1 error and that was on the ammo, not the gun. If you are new go DPMS.

  • @mrbkrn1987 Cont. from below, Once you get addicted to the sport of shooting and you have a lot more disposable income then go with a $2k AR, but let there be no illusion you can pick up a $2000 AR and drop targets at 300 yards just because its a fancy model, you need training and practice to get good, not a gold plated AR.

  • Do you notice a problem with accuracy when you do a rapid fire session?

  • @vince12345ize Well I will start by saying that when I was in the military we had M-16's that were 3 round burst and M-4's that had full auto modes, accuracy is always effected when ever you are doing a multi round firing session. That is the case with any gun, maybe with the exception of something like a MP-5 sub mg. In my exp all .233/5.56mm rifles have slight recoil whenever used in rapid fire. I have fired DPMS, S&W, Rock River, Daniels Defensive, Bushmaster etc.

  • @vince12345ize along with Colt and never really noticed any difference. I have heard a lot of trash talked about DPMS barrels and while I believe there is some truth to them having poor barrels I don't think that makes the whole gun garbage, nor do I believe spending $1500-$2000 on an AR makes you're shooting better. Guns do play a factor in accuracy, but so does ammo and more importantly the shooter.

  • nice setup . thats pretty badass bein able to shoot in ur backyard

  • What type of riser did you use for the front flip up sight.

    33GWO

  • Nice......I got the sportical....there great guns.

  • Hey Matt, bought myself an oracle at the gun show Saturday for $650 new. Excited about the build ahead but Im a bit confused as to the correct iron sights to get as I found that the rail on the gas block sits about a quarter inch lower than the rear rail. what sights are installed on yours and are they accurate installed on the rail as the rifle is built?

  • Wish I could go in my backyard and shoot - I have a perfect hill for a backstop to. Also DPMS are awesome.

  • left handed shooters unite

  • magnifier works well, ive been flagged on the range too many times by rooks so yeah i wear it lol

  • Ived never use magnifier in iraq...does it works pretty good?

  • what hand guard is that? Nice vid...

  • to bad the barrel is thin and worthless.

  • @TexasDistortion I get really sad that people bash DPMS. I have had nothing but good shooting and quality from my Oracle. Shooters get all prissy about how S&W are the best and how Colt is the best. BS! Everything is made by the cheapest bidder nowadays except for maybe daniels defensive and rock river. If you wanna drop $3000.00 on an AR that wont shoot better than mine be my guest, but all of you thinking about DPMS don't be dissuaded by ignorant fools.

  • @mrbkrn1987 Thanks for the video. Centerfiresystems has the DPMS Oracle on sale for $599, So im giving them a serious look.

And TexasDistortion has "zero" uploads so that's the value of his opinion.

  • @mrbkrn1987 I agree, I have had nothing but good things come from my Oracle. Never any feeding issues and I can out shoot most people, even with open sights.

  • @coty734 nothing from that build was purchased at a mall... i wish what kind of malls do you have?

  • Mall Ninja

  • Nice build, love my Panther too!

  • Yeah, that was kind of a bitchy comment about the safety .... someone always have to whine ... usually those that make poor survivors.

I do have a question, tough. Your magnifier .... it looks like it flips out of the way when you don't need it? I'm going to order a DPMS and a Eotech this weekend.

  • @corax2012 yeah i wasn't gunna bust his balls, in a sense he is right, but I know and respect my weapons and always exercise positive trigger control.

  • @corax2012 yeah the 3x gen magnifier does flip to the right so u can use the base eotech in close quarters . its a quick flip too. its nice cause u press a little button and away it goes.

  • what chest rig are you running?

  • Does it have a threaded barrel

  • @riverrutt not threaded, but the AR's have the notch on the end for the clamp style suppressor, I can't think of what its called, but my class 3 vendor was showing me how a nut type thing goes on the notch then the suppressor essentially clicks on. I know that isn't very scientific, but I dont have alot of time with those... yet. rumor mill has it the ATF is going to make suppressors more easily available for the average joe to buy.

  • @mrbkrn1987 How are they making suppressors more avilable? Because I looking into getting one.

  • @riverrutt they are going to remove local jurisdiction requirement of approval. So in my state of ohio where most sherrifs wont sign off on it, it supposedly will be like buying a gun, that atf form and out the door. Full auto another story. Or so I have heard... So haters dont hate at me for this.

  • Thats cool, you can shoot right outside of your house. I wish I had it like that where I live.

  • Sorry to be a little bitch, but you took the weapon off safe and then said that you were waiting to let your lane to clear. Just being critical, but not safe weapons handeling.

Sweet review otherwise! Just bought an Oracle myself, Aimpoint comp m3, midwest rail, BCM front and rear pop ups, waiting on the two stage trigger to come in the mail along with the surefire.

  • @brendenf111 yeah I know it was unexpected, my father in law walked out right as I was getting ready to shoot so I just lowered the weapon. I wasn't really that concerned with it, my finger is never on the trigger unless I am going to fire, but I can see you're point.

  • Is your promag front sight for a gas block or just regular? I heard there was a heat issue if it wasnt made for the ga block. Lastley do u find that its off because the gas block sits lower then the hand rail?

  • try installing an Orsprey gas piston conversion kit onto it.

  • i was wondering what type of hand guard is on your dpms? Ive seen a utg or ugt from midway for 59$, its got great reviews. whats your opinion?

  • i have a dpms panther ap4 carbine what is the difference besides the front sight and no carrying handle for the oracle?

  • Nice

  • i just bought this rifle...

  • @andrademeza it's a really fun rifle. The nice thing about the AR's are that you can really custimize them to your personal taste.

  • very nice rifle... just purchased a DPMS oracle myself... quick question, as you have the Magpul MOE buttstock, on their website, you either buy the "mil-spec" or "commercial" buttstock, and i dont want to order the incorrect one... which do i buy?

  • @jesserooker345 ok so this can be a tricky question. I have the AR-15 oracle modeled after the M4. I know there is a difference in butt stocks between M4 and M16 variants of AR15's. If you have a M4 Oracle like mine I got and installed a Magpul MOE Carbine Stock Commercial Black. On the box the item number reads (MAG401-BLK) . I hope this helps .

  • Damn, you have quite a lot of accessories on that. I would suggest lightening her up a bit. Also buy some of Magpul's low profile rail covers. You will thank me later :) Anyways, Im a lefty too so rock on bro!

  • Does your front sight interfere with your optics or is completely out of view? Also wat type of rear sight do you have?

  • are you shooting 5.56 or .223 ammo and what kind?

  • @1722hmr in this video I am shooting PMC TAC 5.56mm, but to be honest I have shot both within seconds of each other and can rarely tell a difference. Maybe a slight variance in the sound of the weapon, but nothing really noticeable. I would recommend PMC bulk ammo for range or even defense as long as over penetration isn't a factor in you're living area. Hornady TAP are good personal defense rounds, but a 12 gauge 870 works really well instead.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes it is!

  • Must be nice to live in an area where you can have a live fire range in your driveway.

  • That is odd... Mine was able to be punched through from the left side of the gun if I remember correctly. If there isn't any place at all to be punched through I'd say you prolly need some type of screwdriver to pull that out. The only other thing I can think is that you have a sportical which is a new concept from AR companies making a stripped down AR with no forward assist or dust cover over the ejection port. Is you're AR a sportical? If not send me a msg with ur model number, not ur serial

  • How did you remove the front pin in the stock trigger guard? My Oracle pin is only accessible through one side and I can't punch it through the backside.

  • Super Nice!!
