Clinton -- the most corrupt politician since Huey Long, if the Internet boom hadn't occurred to skyrocket the US economy, this backwoods huckster would be primarily remembered for selling ICBM tech to the Reds, groping a pudgy little tart in a broom closet, selling pardons, and turning the other cheek to every terrorist attack on his watch.
We paid the price, but his precious "legacy" is to remain a laughingstock and punchline of jokes .... forever.
No its the nation thats a messed up in focusing on this Sex scandal to the extent that it did. Its what you lie about that counts. Clinton lied about his personal demons, he didn't lie about his responsibilities as president nor was he deceitful like our current president today. When will people stop fixiating on trivial things and worry about real issues like hunger, health, education, AIDS, and war.
blowing vallery plame's cover, reasons for firing 8 US attornies, going to war over WMDs and then links to terrorism, secret interogation prisons... don't get me starting on lying
Bill Clinton did not have to deal with 9-11 because the Republicans were after him? What kind of logic is that? Clinton is not who he pretends to be, and that is what the Republicans brought to light with Lewinsky.. and it has affected public opinion, as it should (my wife will not vote for Hillary now). You make it sound so natural for married men to get blowjobs and lie about it. We view marriage differently, and I do not respect someone who does this kind of thing in MY oval office.
People have jobs and outside of their jobs we are usually different people. Unless your outside activities affect your job performance, you're co-workers shouldnt' give a shit about you're personal life to an extent. Who are you to feel offended if and when it isn't your marriage. You do not know the personal details or Clintons marriage. Give Clinton a break he did a good job as president and that should be respected.
President of the US is not just another job... and so he should be held to a higher standard. Also, this is an honorary position, it reflects upon all of us and the character of our country. The person holding this office should be our "ideal". Clinton was hardly that. And Bush is hardly that either. And, no, I am not a different person outside my job, and I do measure character based on how someone handles their personal life.
here's part 1 of a great series on the Neocons: just search for "Pt.1 The Neocons - Ideology and Fantasy." they've basically converted Bush to their agenda. their whole philosophy comes from Leo Strauss, and revolves around the idea of creating a false threat to unite people and overcome the "relativism" inherent in capitalism (liberalism). in the late 70's Rumsfeld and "Plan B" falsely claimed that the Soviets were developing better weapons. now their false threat is terrorism.
The point that strikes me the most here is that a former president politics against a sitting president. Both Clinton and Carter are constantly bad mouthing Bush. They need to respect the office and stay out of the political fray.
Clinton's and Carter's criticisms are legitimate and relevant. that's the difference. Clinton's blowjob was just a partisan excuse to attack him. but I'm not a huge fan of the Dems, but Republican politicians are basically the direct representatives of big business, and they use religion and trickery to get votes. the same is somewhat true of the Dems, but the political system needs to change for all this to change.
THANK YOU! Right said, you hit every nail on the head and said all the things I've been saying for the last 9 yrs about ALL of whats happened in one setting.
Well, you coul have structured this a bit better as it was a little hard to follow, but 5/5 anyways.
Good point, he was impeached for such a small reason that anyone would lie about. Now, we needed to go into this war to get rid of all these retarded muslim EXTREMISTS.
Everyone deserves the right to be free. What kind of examples are both parties showing our children? We teach them to not hate different races, but they see the arguing of polital parties. Makes us all hippocrits doesnt it?
The fact is that both sides bash the president if he/or possibly she is in the opposite party. The republicans played hate on Clinton and the democrats do the same thing to Bush. The difference is that Clinton usually responds directly to critisism while Bush just pshhhhtt's it. That's my opinon.
Thank you! It's good to hear that Middle America is fed up with this silly name calling. Now we just need a presidential candidate who represents real American values.
10 days after taking office, Bush told his assembled cabinet;"find me a way to get into Iraq". While the Bush admin, in their usual kill the messenger solution to all problems, tried to discredit Paul O'Neil who was the one who released that statement AND was able to produce the evidence for it, (they let him walk away with it), Bush has never explained his reason(s) for saying it, nor has anyone asked him. A 'guess we'll never know' footnote in history.
If the REAL reason we had to invade Iraq was: To git the sommabitch that tried to kill my daddy, and around Crawford Teexxass way, you don't do that and live to tell about it, wouldn't you lie about that too?
It is crazy that the other side would be so low as to spend every waking momement to find dirt on this president and waste this whole admimistration on this crap! Where you are wrong is that the dems have spent every waking momement getting bush. You are dead wrong, colorado.

Anyway, IMHO, Bill Clinton's biggest mistake was answering "I didn't have sex with that woman" when he should have answered "None of your effin' bizness!"
There was a sign at an anti-Bush rally here in town a couple of weeks ago that read ... "Better to screw an intern than an entire Nation!" Amen Bro! Keep the faith.
WOW...Fox News made YouTube remove all of the Chris Wallace/BIll Clinton video clips. Anyone who doesn't think Fox News is trying to save face, explain that.
Dude ! .. Thanks for taking the time and courage to speak your mind ... You are helping to restore faith that the average guy and you and I can think indepentantly, inspite of the media programming we are all subjected to ... Thanks for helping to restore good old common sense
Understand that the accusations against Bill Clinton are nothing more than a political diversion designed to eliminate some negativity from Bush prior to the November 4th elections. Now Bush can endorse his Republican candidates and get his money. Now it's easier for him to go public with his endorsements instead of behind closed doors and at parties that are screened to only accept Bush supporters. Make no mistake about it- Republicans are diverting attention. Welcome to negative campaigning!
"I guarantee you 80% of these guys on here commenting right now about how horrible that was would have done the same damn thing if some girl would have come up to them and offered them (sex)." That's brilliant! That's the most bizarre thing about the Clinton detractors; they're usually the biggest perverts of all!
Its good to see you have a balanced perspective. I would argue that Clinton accomplished a lot during his presidency- balanced budget, booming economy, growing middle class, consistent, healthy job growth, 8 years of relative peace, a huge boom in College attendance, and on and on. However, I do agree that the witch hunts made a negative impact, and took needed time away from the president. As far as the Clinton interview, people should just read the transcript.
I appreciate your unbiased views, keep em coming. This is why I subscribed. And I totally agree with you about the 80% estimate that you gave. NICE VID!!
Of all opinions I have read or listened to, that has to be the most balanced opinion in all media. Considerate of both sides, and then stated his belief without slandering the ideals opposite to his own. Too bad it doesn't sell newspapers or get viewers on television.
Now that's a perspective I've never really thought about. And it does seem pretty convincing... but this could also mean one thing: that Democrats are just too weak, incapable or perhaps unprepaired to invest more resources of their own in this attack-defend game (after all, the system is based on healthy competition, right?).
I agree. W has taken quite a bit of criticism, but I don't think Dems have harped on petty things as much as the Reps did with Clinton. The criticism of W has been over his policies.
We've had a poor run of presidents. Clinton disabled himself and limped most of his term, with help from the kindly Republicans; he was never able to live up to his ability as a strategic thinker. Bush has just gone on a nutso rampage by shredding the constitution, destroying our image abroad, giving us an unjust war, and looting the treasury for his rich pals. We are overdue for a circumspect, sane leader. Pity us if we don't find one in 2008.
I love your take on the issue Reluctant Redneck. When Clinton did anything militarily, all we heard was 'wag the dog'. Can you imagine if Clinton had invaded a country due to faulty intelligence, with too few troops, squandered billions in reconstruction funds and then incited a civil war leaving our guys caught in the crossfire, what they would have done to him? The poor bastard would still be plucking tarred feathers and pulling splinters from the rail he was ridden out on.
I always liked Clinton, what kind of sexual activities he did, was only a problem when he had to use all of his time defending himself for what he did... Probably spent 18 to 20 hours at the office, when did he ever have a chance to see someone who was not an intern. In some countrys, like France, they probably wouldn't trust him if he didn't have an affaire.
this guy knows his stuff and thats fo sho!

Nice watch
I always liked Clinton, what kind of sexual activities he did, was only a problem when he had to use all of his time defending himself for what he did... Probably spent 18 to 20 hours at the office, when did he ever have a chance to see someone who was not an intern. In some countrys, like France, they probably wouldn't trust him if he didn't have an affaire.

It's certainly nice when they are interested in something besides money and their cronies...
