  • try doing it next time while its wet with condition...then rinse the condition out..you'll get better results...

  • This is the first time you did this and it looks so good? Wow!!!! You are very good at improvising. I want to try this style. I've had locs before but someone did it for me. I want to try doing this on my own. It's not going to be easy because I have a lot of hair. We'll see.

Nice video. Your hair looks great!!!

  • I like how you said that the front of your hair is a different curl pattern than the rest of your hair; mine is too. I thought that I was doing something wrong or that it was damaged but I see that hair just wants to do what it wants to do.

  • spectrum coconut oil can be found in your local whole foods store

  • Wooo! You're cute!

  • What product did u use to make your hair like that?

  • your technique is cool and different...! Love that! I've only seen people use their fingers. I'm going to try this for my B-day :) I pray it comes out well !

  • I actually loved the style. It was really cute. I'm going to try it. I may do something different to the end for les frizz but its nice

  • I realized that when I let my hair air dry, by the time im ready to take the style out I have a lot of shedding. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do differently?

  • Very cute. I LOVE this style. Another one of your tutorials that i love. I have another style to add to my collection. One question, when coiling your hair with the comb, does it get tangled in your hair? This is what I fear. I've had this style done before when I was growing locs, but never tried it on my own. I would love to try it myself. I think I will use twist and loc gel and shea butter.

  • yuh look suhper buhf at 10:57 but nice hair

  • there are directions on the miss jessie's website on how to do a coil out. its not a video but they have it in steps and the steps exlain what to do.

  • i love this style! shocked you didn't love it, one of your best creations!! looks full as well on camera

  • I kno u didnt try n all but its ULTRA CUTE

  • i like it(:

  • I love this!!! ur right, I tried the finger coils last night for the first time and I was disappointed I couldn't get my roots to stop fuzzing up so it looks a mess!! I needed a video that showed me how to take them down and this was perfect!! Plus, I love the way u work with ur hairstyles even if they're not what u expected. Love ur attitude! Thnx for this vid!!!

  • girl i just love how you experiment on camera

  • how do you get your hair that Soft?? what products do u use???

  • how do you get your hair that Soft?? what products do u use

  • I tried the coil out but i came out frizzy... wat can i do

  • omg i lov the finished product!! it looks so pretty. I don't know if its the 2 colors or not but i love it!! i'm thinkin about trying it but I transitioning so I still have relaxer alot of relaxed hair and am not sure that it will work. but i'm gonna def give it a shot!!

  • i feel like my hair would get tangled in the comb! you did these coils with so much skill!! and the next day when you showed the hair the coils looked like locks, your makeup and your eyebrows also brought out this style beautifully!

  • 0:20 - :30 LOL. I had a day like that. I woke up teed at my hair and so I just wore it the way it was even though I dodn't get the result I like and everybodu was just like "Wow Kia, that is so cute!!" I wasn't sure if they were trying to play me or not but they seemed to like it....lol. Wierd.

  • I know you didn't seem pleased. But I think it is so pretty.

  • This style is super cute. I tried a coil out when my hair was shorter and I hated it, but you have inspired me to give it another go. THX!

  • Was your hair really dry? when you took it out?

  • my hair gets tangled in the comb whenever i try this .... yours looks nice

  • I think it came out great and this gives me some new ideas of how to do my hair. I just cut the perm out of my hair and have no clue on how to style it. Thanks!

  • that is truly different, I really like it. The styles of natural hair seems endless!!

  • cute

  • hey looove ur vids am in transition n i live in the uk do kno any other products i can use on my hair ...to do that style .coz we dnt ave that much hair products here at all it frustratin......ps my hair has reali loose curls more loose than ur front hair ... wat can i do 2 make it mo curl i dnt use heat that much

  • I love it as I wear my hair natural I cornrow it or wear it in bunchies which tends to make me look younger. I am going to try this 2moro. Thanx 4 posting natural is the best!

  • I love how your hair turned out, I am going to try this....

    Thank you!

  • I love how your hair turned out, I am going to try this....

    Thanks!

  • Can you use another product to do this? Cause Miss Jessie does not agree with me because of the mineral oil :(

  • i'm really gonna try this when my hair grows longer

  • This is soooo good.. your video really helped me a lot cause my bf is startin to grow his hair out again and wants some coils.. thanks girl.. you did good..

  • Your hair is really well conditioned and always looks lovely.

  • 10:09 Arms Of Steel much ? Lol. Love your videos ! :)

  • This looks awesome. I have Miss Jessies curly butter creme in my hair now and I hate how heavy and oily my hair feels. I mean it looks good but the feeling is definitley not what Im used to. I guess its the mineral oil and petroleum.

  • That looks great..im wondering if i can do that with partial relaxer?

  • LOve this im going to try it this weekend

  • this is the way that I was taught to do coils

  • looks great!

  • good idea im going to try this. can you comb these out with em still being curly

  • I think it looks really cute. At the moment I can't do that hair style because I have just decided to transition about 1.5 months ago. I have texturized hair 80% and 15% relaxed ends and maybe 5% new growth.

  • I've tried it with the comb and it just doesn't want to work with me so i'll just stick to doing coils with my fingers...but i think it looks nice on you

  • That is sooo pretty. I love the color and the look of the long comb curls even before you pulled them out. Then after you pulled them out it is even better.

Thanks. I am transitioning and i cant wait until i get all of the permed stuff out so my hair will curl.

  • Prettydimples01- ur hair came out really pretty! I recently started to get into styles lik this wen i got to college n didnt hv a way of str8n'n my hair :/ but hey they actually r better than jus roc'n the str8 look all the time... bt based off of the other vids on styles lik this it seems 2 me bc u did it wit the comb it came out smaller oppose 2 usin ur finger n it come out all big.. bt thnks 4 showin me ur method bc nw wen i wnt small coils i can jus use the comb n vise versa :)

  • I have a twa and the coil out it my favorite style! I usually use a mix of aloe vera and Ic fantasia gel to set them and keep them in for a few days . Then when I take them out i don't re-twist them with my finger (just separate from the root), so it has more of a stretched out look...amazing

  • Very good video! I wanted to know how you create the parts so they are even and neat? I am interested in parting my own hair with a diamond shape. Thanks for any info. you can provide.

  • The coil out was pretty and the make up was fierce!!!

  • I like that. finally, in the back it looks like locks. I like the color in the top.

I agree with renia when she says that it also looks good even if u didn't take out the curls.

But please!! I need a tutorial for ur eyes make up! this is very beautiful!

  • hey lady, Miss Jessie now how to videos, check it out. Thanks for providing us wit so much info. be blessed

  • Haaa, I learn so much from youtube, I'm sitting home with bantu knots in my hair now waiting to take them out tomorrow. Thanks for the vid, I've never seen this before.

  • Ha! love the make it work attitude. When you have not always had natural hair the styling process can be trial and error. When I do my coils I do them smaller to prevent having to seperate to reduce the "frizz ball" factor. It was cute though you def made it work!

  • Renia2834- thanks. but no its doesn't straighten my hair not one bit.

  • Looks good to me!

  • you should try the two-strand method. that gives it a tighter coil-out.

  • how long can you keep them in before they begin to lock

  • This one lady who looks as if she has thicker hair than mine said she leaves hers in for 3 weeks at a time....when i did mine i had to take it out because i had something to do but anyway it was tedious taking it down

  • u are so right about the texture of hair ...i usually wear braids bc i couldnt figure out what kind of styles to do for my hair butt u gave me ideas from watching ur videosthank you...im loving the eye shadow what brand is that?

  • That's right lady speak the true its just hair work with what you have... and you do such a great job on natural hair... keep it up your hair always look nice...

  • This is real cute... I love it

  • this is cute!

  • can you use ms. jessies butter cream on transitioning hair?? I would like to try this style, putting rods on the ends so they curl up

  • Love it!!!

  • I have been searching the internet for quite sometime over the last year and finally found a video I can understand, I really enjoy your videos on how to manage the natural hair strand. I have 1 question though. How do you get your hair to stretch out? My hair is about 5 to 6 inches long and it draws up into a tight fro...So, thats how I ware it..I'm a little tired of it but I refuse to go back to relaxing my hair. I wish my hair were much softer and easier to manage...

  • I personally think comb coils are neater in appearance if you left them in for a week or so. I never done coils by comb by I will once my hair grows a little longer (my trim turned into a haircut) I so love MJ's products. I never had the Baby Buttercreme but I swear by Curly Buttercreme. Your texture is similar to mine and I love the color. Thanks for the vid. :)

  • that's what I love about you..."Your Confidence" being a natural.....

  • I do this style all the time with my hair. I usually use my fingers and my hair is that real stuff and a little shorter than yours but i always love it

  • your hair looks like it grew.. i unno mabey its just me but GIRLLL i LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos

  • i tried this when my hair was shorter and didn't like it but you have inspired me to revisit the style. I mean this is soo beautiful.

  • I'm a white woman with kinda thin hair but my daughter has hair like you ( a little softer , i guess) . and i really really wanna try this out with her hair. it looks sooooooo cute on you!!! wow!!. i've never seen this and how to do this style. and I'm impressed!!! that's such a cool way to style hair like yours . bye from Germany =)

  • MissKwe- well if your daughter is mixed it may not work b/c her hair will be too soft to coil around the comb but you maybe able to get some gel and on each section you want to curl just twirl it around your finger and it should curl up

  • Thank you! I'm gonna try it and let you know what happend =) . because i guess her hair might really be too soft..... :( but i try . =))

  • =( yes, you were right , my daughters hair is really too soft. but anyway: i really like the style and your vids^^

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!1

  • love your make up, and your hair indeed !!! ;)

  • oh yeaa and its TOO CUTE

  • thass finger curls! lol well thats what it looks like i do this on my lil sis hair

  • ITS VERY NICE!!!!!!!

  • Can you tell me how you do the back of your hair without tangling it up?

  • Thanks for posting this video. I did this on my hair using my own recipe and it's very cute. My hair is a lil longer than my finger and it looks gorgeous. I haven't had to wet it in 3 days!

  • i think its cute

  • Nice, your hair is so beautiful. I am contemplating going natural and looking at your videos really makes me want to do it. Have long have you been natural and did you do the bc?

  • wow that came out beautifully!!!!!

  • thats cute... anda dont feel; insecure cause dats really pretty..and unique

  • look gr8

  • Girrl! It came out really good even though you said the ends were frizzy. Perhaps you couldve used the curly pudding instead or meringue on the ends while separating....but thanks for the coil out in depth how-to because it sure isnt on miss jessies site! You rock!

  • i really liked that hair style ill do it when i go natural again

  • pertty dimpless......you are such an inspiration to me....girl you know you can hook up some natural hair. I did my bc about a month ago...and you give so many nice hair styles.....i know you dont know me , but I just want to thakn you for being a inspiration to me.......stay nappy...God bless...oh I love the hair it looks wonderful =)

  • I had coils in my hair Tuesday, woke up Wednesday morning and they were all over the place... I slept with a bonnet but, thats another story. That morning, I took them out, but because I have two diff texture hair, one side looked as if there was no coil in it at all! maybe it will turn out better when my hair is longer. oh I have a TWA

  • I have been searching for a video like this for the last 2 weeks since I have taken my coil twist down...i just couldnt take spending $30 evertime I want it done so thank you! =D

  • i haven't tried this yet because i dont generally do small twist outs or coils but i heard soembody say its good to have oil on your hands when seperating the twists or coils to prevent the frizz so maybe that's something you can try the next time. i love the hair it looks great!

  • I Love Your Videos...and I just wanted to tell u another way to get the coil out real curly is by putting curl rods on them and it makes it really curly. I just love ur videos.

  • i'm really intimidated to try your styles i feel like i dont have any talent in doing hair but i guess i'm going to have to try

  • rasheeda100- girl don't feel that way. give it a try you may be better than you think

  • i have never seen this done like this before, great idea and i will try this

  • This is very very pretty i can't wait to try this when natural hair gets this long. I WANT THIS HAIR STYLE LOL Cute you did a very good job and your makeup is pretty too

  • girl it was cute!

  • wow it loos really good! Im mad u dont like it!

  • I love this style!!

  • It doesn't look bad. if you want to try something different, I rolled my coils on perm rods after I coiled them and let it dry overnight. I loved it!

  • This is a gorgeous hairstyle. Will definitely try.

  • Hey I thought it came out pretty good!

  • Yea it looks the same to me, but it's still very cute!

  • How large of a section can you do a coil on? Is there a limit? (I'm lazy :))

  • Soliel185- lol well as long as the comb fits in the section you can do it as big as you like

  • you have officially inspired me to color my hair again. this time i'll do just the top, try something new. i hope it doesn't break this time. your hair looks great btw, but i'm partial to half way messy styles... =-)

  • I like your eye shadow can you post a tutorial on how you applied it on...lol 4 real though

  • PrettyBrown2983- i have a video on it.

  • I often do twists and coils in my "clients' hair and I found out that using a smaller comb helps. the teeth at the end are maybe a quarter inch wide. The other end is about 1/2 inch.

  • Your hair type = BEAUTIFUL!

  • finally someone who has my hair type -.-u are my idol lol

  • did u get baby butter cream online? can i find it in stores?

  • oh stop fussing

    it looks beautiful!

  • JamaicanCutie18- lol thank you

  • if u dont have miss jessie's creme available is there anything we can use to substitute it or do u suggest only using the buttercreme for the coils?

  • Sergylne1- no you can use whatever you like on your hair. this is just what i use for this time. next time i do coils i may use another product. so you can use gel or cream or whatever floats you boat. :)

  • Thx so much!!! I love ur vids, u inspire me to embrace my hair! Keep the hair and makeup vids comin :)

  • How long have you been natural?

  • KitKat0615- going on 4 years now

  • Thanks for the quick reply. And sorry for the repetitive question. Do you have any pics of your hair as it grew out? I would love to see some of your styles along the way!

  • girl it looks so so good

  • love ya hair! i finally found someone with hair like mine i can really compair to. my curls are loser in front too hehe

  • I think you did a good job. It looks really nice and cute

  • Did you add any sort off fragrence oil to the coconut oil or did you use it as is? And if so, how did mix the two togther?

  • CoCoSweet89- i used it as is

  • I think it's good that you said that sometimes you have to wear the styles you don't like...and act like you know it's cute lol! Cuz we all have to do that sometimes :) But thanks for the tutorial...I usually do coils with my fingers but now I can see how ppl do it with a comb. It does come out much tighter!

  • your hair turned out beautiful! I love it, how long have you been natural?

  • this is interesting... ive never used a comb but i'll def try it..love the style

  • when it starts to get old, it starts to giv u a dread look

  • I have been wearing coils for a month now. My hair is only 4 inches & I do a lot of coils so they look cute just like that. I do them with my finger though. Towards the end of the week I pull the coils apart. I use melted Shea butter mixed with coconut oil and EVOO when I first twist them so they stay nice & soft & moisturized. I would saturate the ends in particular before you pull them apart & if they come out frizzy put some oil on your fingers & twirl the ends. That should fix the frizz

  • Thanks so much. I have alot of hair and it's very thickkkk! Don't know if I'll try this look on my own.

  • I love the look!!! I'm transitioning and don't know whether my ends would do right with this look. I love your skin tone!! You're very pretty!

  • patree79- your ends will be straight so to get this look you could do a straw set. and thanks for the complement :)

  • whole foods caries the same brand coconut oil same size too!

  • i like the frizzie ends lol

  • what did u use because they looked like strong locs the next morning

  • How did you sleep in them? just a bonnet or did you tie them down?? My hair tends to get flat if I tie them down and frizzy if I use a bonnet. Any suggestions?

  • ebonisunshine03- i just slept with a bonnet

  • Next time you do you coil out, seperate them like you do your twist outs. That's what I usually do. I do them when I don't feel like doing anything elese. It's not my fav style but it's stil cute.

  • girl, that looks so good! love your videos!

  • what would you say your hair type is?

  • I am thinking about experimenting with products, so how do you determine what product to use for each style I would really love to know. Also if you could help me produt experiment.

  • Very cute!!!....I love the spirals sprinkled through the back.. I think 4a/bc/ hair is gorgeous!! Peace*

  • I tried this style this week and the coils came out nice because i allowed them to dry under a dryer. I also put a little oil on the ends so that it would not be as frizzy> But I am not sure about the best way to take them apart. great ideas tho! I have tried many of them

  • wow u are so good at doing cute hairstyles!

  • well i liked it ! lol ! and u taught me something ima try it when im not lazy!

  • Your coil out is so lovely! You did a fine job!

  • Hey lady i want to do the aphogee treatment but i also would like to color my hair do you think it would hurt to do both if not which should i do first color or aphogee....Thanks

  • sistajme-you do the aphogee first. then the color. make sure you read the instructions first on the aphogee. it tells you

  • Oh Yes i did the aphrogee treatment yesterday and love it almost colored it today "Brown Sugar" but punked out....lol i have never had anything but black or blue black rinses i know that's sad...lol,lol i take the color on friday...Thank you pretty dimples

  • omg girl, that is not a frizzy ball. it's super cute!

  • I LOVE IT!!

  • never heard of a coil out. that is cute...

  • your hair is too cute,,it came out great.

  • I'm 4c and I'm proud!!

  • What I meant to type was thanks for teaching me how to do comb coils. I've always done them with my fingers, and you're right, they're not as tight when you do them that way.

  • Comment removed

  • your hair turn out really nice!!!!

  • great advice work with what God gave you. This is very cute

  • Ok its offical your the best!!! Thanks for the coil out video.. right now I have coils too and I was wondering how I would take them out without messing them up!!! Keep coming with the wonderful videos I really appreciate them :)

  • very cute!! i tried a coil out but used my fingers and from half way to the root unraveled (so i didnt do a vid bc i was scared of the results) i cant imagine i can use the fine comb - well i could but tiny sections would take all day :)

...but when i separated i unraveled the whole thing first - this kept my ends from frizzing

ps.. cute makeup too and thanks for speaking on the hair type thing - ppl tell me that too like im rockn alicia keys hair

  • Thank you for this video. I was trying to figure out how to NOT get the comb tangled up in my hair. And it looks like you have to take your time too! Thanks for sharing!!

  • What type of gel do you use? I love the way your hair lays down. We have a similar texture, and it's hard for me to find a gel that works well.

  • wow your hair came out flyyyy!!!

  • this is really cute, I'm going to try it, thanks for your reply on you rproduct review video!

  • Your coil out turned out cute IMO....If you want to check out other vids, try ladypkync (I think that's it) and there are soooo many other naturals out there that have tried this style. I think CurlyChronicles has as well...

  • too cute! I'm trying this on graduation!

  • its sooo cute! i must try this with my hair!
