Joel has no real substance to his message except to make people feel good. Although we all need to feel good we also need to hear the salvation message first. The truth will offend many but it has to be preached to all people as commanded. Go to all nations baptising in my name. There is NO salvation without baptism into Jesus--NONE at all according to scripture for the new testament. So Joel, have someone preach the hard truth then you can come and help people feel good, but salvation first.
Each servant of God has different function. I find that God uses Joel to restore the self-image of God's creations and to restore people's perception about God.
We should uphold God's servants in our prayers instead of critizing them in public.....whether they are faithful servants of God, let God judge them.
@GREALER We're all sinners, regardless of how we preach. That never changes. However, the way Joel Osteen preaches is in opposition to the message in the bible. Not only is his style of preaching misleading, but the way he lives goes against what Jesus spent so much time warning people against. To much is placed on repentance. Peter was talking to the same people that encouraged Jesus' crucifition and they doubted who Jesus was so Peter wanted them to repent for that mistake. Repentance is basically saying that you were living in sin and you are now acknowloging that you want to live for Christ. But the real salvation is in the baptism process of being baptized into Jesus name & receiving the Holy Ghost. Once you believe in Jesus you need the Faith to go through with baptism
People are always going to go against Gods annointing. But who are we to judge. If you go out on the streets and preach the gospel, you cant preach to people that dont know God about condemnation to hell. I am confused. When The rich man asked Jesus ,How may I be saved? I follow all the commandments,is this not enough? Joel Osteen is a good preacher if you want someone who knows nothing about God and Jesus to be drawn to Christianity. But if you want the real and complete message from the Bible, then you must move past Joel's preaching and find another Pastor. I recommend Paul Washer myself.
Joel would be much better if he actually had some training for his job. I am a minister through the Universal Life Church, but if you look up their requirements then you'd know that I'm really not trained to preach. I would not even think of preaching unless I had some formal training and until I get it, then I will not preach. For me the job is just too important to leave it to an amateur like me. I wish that Joel would take his role more seriously instead of trying to just please everyone.

You know, its really too bad we have critics that cannot or refuse to hear when God speaks through someone regardless if his theology is all right or not. The critics cannot eat the chicken and spit the bones out so they just throw it all out and get no food at all. Frankly, I would listen to Joel Osteen and hear God in him before I'd ever listen to the critics. Now yes, I'd love to hear more of Jesus Himself in Osteen's message, but the gift he has is what it is. The critics are overly-narrow.

Indicative of his broad positive approach that attracts the masses. A pastor is called to feed the flock the whole counsel of God- from Genesis to Revelation. God speaks to these men who are commanded to reveal to mankind His plan of salvation, His will, His character, and His truth. A prophet testifies of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, that He died for our sins, they preach of repentance, condemnation, judgment, sin, and eternal torment. These are the things that prophets of God do, but that Joel Osteen as a false prophet does not.

Joel has no real substance to his message except to make people feel good. Although we all need to feel good we also need to hear the salvation message first. The truth will offend many but it has to be preached to all people as commanded. Go to all nations baptising in my name. There is NO salvation without baptism into Jesus--NONE at all according to scripture for the new testament. So Joel, have someone preach the hard truth then you can come and help people feel good, but salvation first.

Each servant of God has different function. I find that God uses Joel to restore the self-image of God's creations and to restore people's perception about God.
We should uphold God's servants in our prayers instead of critizing them in public.....whether they are faithful servants of God, let God judge them.

@GREALER We're all sinners, regardless of how we preach. That never changes. However, the way Joel Osteen preaches is in opposition to the message in the bible. Not only is his style of preaching misleading, but the way he lives goes against what Jesus spent so much time warning people against. I've known preachers who have literally sold their homes and given up all their wealth for the sake of winning souls and living a Christ-lead lives. They didn't do it in a showy, self-righteous way either

To much is placed on repentance. Peter was talking to the same people that encouraged Jesus' crucifition and they doubted who Jesus was so Peter wanted them to repent for that mistake. Repentance is basically saying that you were living in sin and you are now acknowloging that you want to live for Christ. But the real salvation is in the baptism process of being baptized into Jesus name & receiving the Holy Ghost. Once you believe in Jesus you need the Faith to go through with baptism

Joel would be much better if he actually had some training for his job. I am a minister through the Universal Life Church, but if you look up their requirements then you'd know that I'm really not trained to preach. I would not even think of preaching unless I had some formal training and until I get it, then I will not preach. For me the job is just too important to leave it to an amateur like me. I wish that Joel would take his role more seriously instead of trying to just please everyone.
