@LAZERFIST888 A majority of people in practical history didn't know what the muscular system looked like nor did they entirely know what certain motions did to the rest of their body. You're wrong. Crissy is right.
Ballistic stretches, bouncing, is an advanced technique designed to surpass one,s stretch reflex and develope super flexibility. It's often used by dancers and martial artists. It is best used by people who are extremely well conditioned and who already have very good Range Of Movement. Personally I wouldn't recommend it to my clients because repeatedly activating the stretch reflex can cause the muscle to tighten. Make-sure you warm up properly before performing any stretching routine.
Ok, im very confused. Isn't it common knowledge that you NEVER bounce??? I'm a bit concerned that you would suggest this, especially in a back stretch of all things!!
I have fought back pain for the majority of my life, spending thousands of dollars on physical therapy, chiropractors, and pain medicines.
Recently I have found by far the best, most economical help ever. Going through this simple routine every morning has changed my life drastically for the better.
this stretch is wrong lol, bouncing isn't good, it can damage your muscles and cause injury, it's best to just stretch and hold it and then go a little further after. if you want to stretch your back just do the Crab or Bridge and then roll it out or lye on the floor on your front and then let your arms hold your body up and it should stretch your back :)
@xCrissy13x you are very right. for a gymnast though (or in that case anyone who wants to get flexible quickly) , bouncing is better <only if you don't do it too much. when you bounce you make micro-tears in the muscle which when healed, result in "expanded" flexibility. it just a quick way of gaining flexibility and is not good for you on a general basis.
I did both the stretches and it didn't work on my lower back. Instead it stretched my calfs and hamstring. Is that suppose happen during this process? Please give me advice and correct me. Thank you
@toxicinspector The person in this video is quite flexible. You may need to find an alternative to the shown stretches for a beginner, for them to work .. I'm not very flexible, and it's the same for me, my calves and thigh/glute muscles really take the brunt of it. Thankfully though, they release some tension on your back, since it's sometimes being a tightass that makes your back hurt not the back muscles themselves hahaha
One more note: You should never BOUNCE in ANY type of stretch as it can cause damage to muscles at the muscle tendon junctions and can also damage other structures. The technique she is showing here is not even a stretch anyway.
The woman in this video is pretty & she speaks well & with authority & I certain she is very well meaning however she doesn't know what she is talking about & is demonstrating old, outdated, dangerous, training misinformation.
The following comments I will post here below will be direct quotes from the book,"The Stark Reality of Stretching" by podiatric surgeon Dr. Steven D. Stark MD.
Please realise the importance of proper stretching & head his wise words on hamstring stretches.
Incorrect positioning due to involuntary muscle contraction.
(All standing hamstring "stretches")
There are many examples of improper hamstring stretches. A close look at what hamstrings do involuntarily in reflex response to standing and bending forward will explain why all standing hamstring stretches are not only wrong, but damage other structures.
FACT: When a person is standing and bends forward frpom the pelvis, the hamstring muscles involuntraily contract (myotactic reflex) to stabilize the pelvis against gravity. The hamstrings will remain contracted, stabilizing the pelvis, as long as the person remains bent forward from the hips.
The hamstrings cannot be stretched in any standing position, because they are contracted and expending energy to stabilize the pelvis against the pull of gravity. When the hamstrings have contracted to their longest eccentric length (eccentric capacity), the pelvis stops rotating forward. If the person continues to bend forward, they will do so by rounding out the lower back as they reach for the ground. This transfers loading force into the posterior longitudinal ligament of the lumbar spine.
This will cause tearing, weakening, and lengthening, of the posterior longitudinal ligament that stabilizes the spinal vertabrae and spinal disk. As this ligament weakens over a period of years, the instability can lead to hypermobility of the spine and secondary damage, such as a herniated disk,
The damage to these ligament structures
is insidious, cumulative and permanent. The resulting s;ine and sciatic nerve problems may not become symptomatic until years after the intitial damage began.
NEVER bounce when you stretch... unless you were wanting to greatly increase your chance to injure yourself. Also if your new to stretching you will want to skip all these as they maybe "simple" to understand they require you to already be VERY flexable. Guess its up to you.
never fails, a poor idiot rejected by any women he knows cause is a jerk trogglodite who thinks women are like his father told him treating his mother like a children-making-machine
LOOK AT HER POSITION @1:22 and tell me wot you wud like to do to her????
i would like to stick my dick in her ass "and hold it there... keeping it stretched and bounce is slightly until the full stretched position is reached"!!!!!!
