I was there! I'm the curly headed fella blocking your view at the front. I apologise for that. It was an amazing gig though, my second time seeing Pj Harvey
.... I was two people from the front, and my 6ft friend had a top-hat on, not a good idea in retrospect...she was daft enough to forget to take the head-wear off. It has to be said that the performance sounded very much more in-tune when you saw it live, sounds a wee bit ropey on this recording, but you can never recapture the live sound exactly with humble technology. Thank You so much for posting this video though, it's given me a huge boost mid-dissertation. x
Yes, the Fannie May thing was funny. I agree wuith you about the sound - my camera usually does a good job but it sopunds a bit thin on here doesn't it. Good luck with the write up!
I was there, best night of my life. Twas a phenomenal gig- 'mesmerising' is the word!!! I asked Polly to marry me and she thought I had requested a song called 'fannie mae'!!! I loved them, and the fact that Tom Brosseau was available for a chat afterwards. I shook his hand at least twice, his opener was a hidden bonus!!
Wonderful video!!! My girlfriend and I were at the front of the stage just a couple people in front of you (my girlfriend is holding up a camera taking a short video in one of your shots in this video.) I was too mesmerized to think of taking a video, and now I'm kicking myself! We're so glad to find yours! Did you take any others?
Thank You kindly though for posting... it's always going to be an impossible mission to recapture that which was such an enigmatic and charged performance.. background noise in a venue like Brookes is always going to impinge on the repro.
I handed in a 58-page write up today, 3 hours early too! xxx

Sorry this was the only one- I was too busy enjoying the music the rest of the time. There are some other clips of the gig up on here though.
