They're both basically the same hand...raise from late position, get a lot of outs by the turn, go all in to represent that he wants to push his opponent off the draw that he actually holds. Detects a lot of fold equity and knows that he makes a winning hand on 1/4 to 1/3 of rivers anyway.

the first guy 3 bet preflop and probably wasnt a maniac who would do this with any two like tom dwan for instance. So with the kings out there on the flop chans opponent either had AK or a bluffable hand like JJ 1010 QQ maby AQ or even lower pocketpairs. Besides, the bet was so small and looked a little scary. If he had AK he would probably bet bigger and go allin after chans raise. Chan read this situation perfectly.
@tommyXBOX360 Tom Dwan is not maniac, he plays at another level, and do it pefectly. None has find a way to understand what is doing they totally get confused, or Durred. Dwan will probably be never very good in tournement because his strategy doesnt work with low level players with poor depth of thinking. If Chan get called those would be donk moves. But he's playing the opponent not the cards (54off- 68off rags).
@futuroleghista With maniac i meant very aggressive player. And I agree that tom is a very, very good player. But I disagree with you, I think he is able to be great in tournaments, because of course hes capable of adjusting to bad, donkish players. Where do you think he build his bankroll from? Not from playing with the pro's right away. I heard him say his first phase in poker was when he player small stakes SNG's against very bad players that he was able to exploit very well.
@tommyXBOX360 Well, I thought you were saying dwan play as a maniac, anyway SNG, Cash, Tournaments are totally different, I think Dwan will never be very good in Tournaments cause he always polarized his hand on nuts/air. In cash he got people scared and confused actually having no read on him and making mistakes. But ovviously some times he get cought with rags. No problem in cash just recharge. In Tournament you need a discipline that is not in line with Dwan style.
@futuroleghista I probably have to agree with you. He is specialised in cash games and belongs to the top pro's, hes very good at them and will always be. There's no need to win tournametns for him apart from honour (winning a bracelet etc).
theirr checks after the turn was a sign of weakness
