you really should get back to playing henry hatsworth. not much later in the game they start adding shit. they got that really cool element that you like of every few minutes they add something new, be that a new kind of enemy, or a new move, there's these upgrades you buy at the store, and every world has a piece of clothing that gives you new powers...I think if you have played this a little bit more you two would have loved it

Castlevania 1-3 had the stiff jump controls where you can't change direction in mid air. I can understand how modern gamers wouldn't like that, but I really enjoy it. It's more methodical. You need to plan your jumps carefully. I replayed Castlevania III recently and had a blast. It's insanely hard, but really fun and rewarding. But I also loved Mega Man 9. Maybe I'll check Prinny out. It actually looks pretty good to me.

Actually, I also have both games, but I beat GTA IV and played a bit online, and I NEVER went back to play it, while I played Saints Row 2 quite a bit after I beat it!

About Prinny. To help control your jump if you're going to overshoot a jump, use a butt stomp thing to halt yourself in midair and fly straight down. It will save your ass REPEATEDLY.

That said, the final boss is nearly impossible.

Hey now! Actually I got one because it felt a lot more sturdy. As opposed to the DS Lite this one is made from Nintendite again, so it feels like it won't break as easy. Always something that spooked me with the Lite which is why I stuck to the brick DS till now. Plus I am hoping they do a VC style thing with DSi ware.

Awesome as always. The only thing I feel I need to add is about the stiff jumping of Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero. There are ways to control yourself in mid-air. If you need to control back, you can switch direction in a double-jump. And if you feel you're jumping too far, ground-pound.

The jumping is stiff, but it's not stubborn :) !

I've played Resistance on the PSP, and it doesn't seem like an immediate purchase for me. I see why it's a great game, and maybe I'll go pick it up when it's cheaper, but the analog nub plus the button controls kind of ruins it. I did hear you can use a PS3 controller to remote play it or something, but that's after you beat the game :/

the controls being new and awkward: thats how you differentiate the skill you develop from others. the getting stuck: thats the problem solving part. without both of these we cry fowl and say it's too short. everybody cried about too human and "eh I cant work the pistols" please, take the time to get it down and it's bad ass. sorry but I wont fault a game just because I'm not instantly awesome at it.

I was responding to a comment made on this episode that the control system for resistance retribution on the psp was bad. it seems most of the time if they don't like a game it's due to not getting the controls down quick enough. were all the same. we bitch about controls being stupid or getting stuck and not knowing where to go next. but these are the things that made the games challenging in the first place. have you noticed that as games get easier to play they also get shorter?

well you wont have to worry about that if you keep playing games with the same engine. what do you got there 3 very popular engines. you can blast through a game because it's just like the one you just played. when I was a kid we use to have "skill toys" part of the fun was seeing who could learn the controls first. it's kind of like that. I like easy games too but they tend to leave my with nothing to play as I beat them quick and have no motivation to play them again.

I didn't say I couldn't learn a new system, I said that it was awful. The best games are the ones where you never have to think about the controls because they just make sense, and you can focus on the game, not the controls. That's the same reason why we recently trashed a game because you couldn't move in the air while jumping. I shouldn't be fighting with the controls instead of having fun.

ah yes, but all controls were new at some point. and you had to learn them. I do know what your saying. Some games are just incomplete and have poorly developed controls. but retribution wasn't like that. once you get down using the buttons for aiming it gets fun & the game over all is awesome. I think you don't like the control options on the psp is what it is & I can't blame you there.
