I ordered three (two for friends, one for me), they just arrived, and my dinosaur had me ROFLMAO. Give some thought to your misunderstandings: "Canon" written on the side will result in a nasty letter from Canon's lawyers. Moving (but meaningless) switches on the mug will quickly fail, break off or run the cost past $100 (it has to survive hot, soapy water for crying out loud). The discrete cap keeps coffee WARM, unlike a massive, non-camera-like sealable LID.

Sorry you're so disappointed. I was very happy with this mug (and LOLed at the dinosaur - we got one in our order too), and the main reason I wanted it is to watch colleagues do a double-take. It looks more than adequately like a lens for sensational / laugh value. I live in a third-world country and make a third-world salary (albeit good by our standards) and was willing to pay that price for my reason to buy this mug. So I guess it's all a matter of expectations.

FYI, there are 6 different versions of this mug from what I have seen on eBay. Before you buy one from eBay, read the description for the mug. the one I bought had a rubber sealing ring on the cap so it actually stays on tight. Once again, read the description on the ebay listing before buying one. And when in doubt, just message the seller to confirm which one you will actually get.

Mugs don't have lids, it isn't advertised as a thermos, it isn't a real lens its a replica so the the buttons aren't supposed to work, and it's Canon style because if they wrote Canon on it they could be sued or would have to pay Canon to use the name.

Got this too and yep it sucks. Realllly disappointed. Yeah photojojo don't advertise it as a thermos but the pictures are defo misleading. The description should be clearer too, as it seems as though the Nikon ones are fine, the lid is better.. it's just the canon ones that fail.

The only real problem with that mug is it doesnt have Canon written on it and shows "made in china". The rest is completely ok, so your criticism is not well-grounded. Photojojo doesnt advertise it as thermos, they just tell it's "plastic mug with stainless steel lining". So the cap doesnt need to stay on. The one at AkihabaraNews has exacvtly the same cap. Also the plastic on your seems to be the best I have seen in reviews. And, btw, I am not photojojo employee. :) Just trying to be objective.
