  • thanks for video. I was having trouble with my carb and after watching your vid i discovered there was a part missing (overflow valve) Do you know of anywhere i could purchase just the valve? Or would it need to be a new carb?

  • @perfectstrangr Hi, I havent seen the part available on its own so I would imagine you would need to buy the whole carb. They are really cheap though and you could pick up one for a tenner. :)

  • Hey nice review I have a cagllari pocket bike but once I turned it on(with starting fluid)it keeps on shutting off when I give it gas and it get to the point where it won't turn on no more can you plzz help me if you want ill make a vid

  • thanks for the vid, i have a little 50cc pocketbike that wont start, i took the float chamber off and cleaned the thoroughly and same with the fuel tap. it still doesnt want to start, but when i directly squirt fuel mix straight through from where the air filter goes it starts up and runs for a bit..any idea what the problem might be??

  • @666TECHNO666 Hi, it could be a number of things. will it start if you hold the throttle back? try cleaning out the little valve pin that shuts on and off the fuel. its the piece thats operated by the float. :)

  • @tiganhonda yea, a couple days ago i tried to get it started with a drill on the flywheel and directly squirting fuel through the carb and it still wouldnt start, so i dont know wether its the reed valves or not..i cleaned the fuel tap out and there was nothing blocking it, and il have to check the float chamber again

  • @666TECHNO666 Defo dont do that, the crank nut can sheer off and ruin the engine. you'd need to get a new crank and rebuild the whole thing. :)

Try dropping fuel through the spark plug hole and see if it fires then. it should start easily then. If it doesn't then the next thing you would test you are getting spark. Do this by removing the spark plug, connect it to the coil and crank the bike while touching the spark plug off the engine. you'll see it spark if its working.

  • @tiganhonda yea, that was the first thing i did before checking the carb was to see if it had spark, it does but it wont fire..ill try dropping fuel in through there but i dont think it will do much different than what ive already tried, thanks for your advice anyway

  • @666TECHNO666 If it doesnt start with fuel through the spark plug hole and it does have spark, then you could be looking at lack of compression. In this case you'll need to rebuild the top end. its cheap enough to get a rebuild kit consisting of a new cylinder, piston, rings and gudgeon pin. :)

  • @tiganhonda yea, i was thinking it might be to do with compression as the exhaust has cracked and almost snapped in half..but i plugged that up good so that shouldnt be the problem..ill just have to buy one the the head kits when i get the spare money

  • @666TECHNO666 You could even just buy an entire engine and stick that in. Taking into account the cost of postage and the likes, it'll probably cost around 50 quid for the replacement engine.

  • @tiganhonda true, but here it would cost about more, its about 60-80 bux for just the head kit, 75 for a new exhaust and 50 for just a carb..quite expensive

  • @666TECHNO666 just be careful you don't get a shock off of it, make sure to hold the rubber while doing it. :)

  • @tiganhonda yea it has a choke that don't help played with the needles idk what to do it feels sound like the float is sticking somewhere at some point would I be better to take it to a shop and get someone to inspect the motor??

  • @suckdsniggamw2rocks Yeah if you are not confident in getting it right then maybe you could just take it in. It might even be easier to bring them the carb and ask them to clean and rebuild it for you. This of course would require some setting up when reinstalling to the bike so you'd have to consider that. In the meantime, check for fuel flow blockages to the carb bowl, check for area's on the float that might cause it to get stuck etc etc.

  • Alright I need some help I have a 1998 cr250r I have checked the compression cleaned the carb and what not its in great conditioning but the problem is I can crank it and it idles like a champ but when I shift into a gear any gear and start to go it wants to bog down when I start to go and I have even tried changing the plug please help

  • @suckdsniggamw2rocks Firstly, check if the bike has a choke and they is isn't set to ON,

If that doesn't help ya, try adjusting the position of the needle on the carb shuttle. Making it longer will allow more air to the fuel mixture, making it shorter will allow less air to the mixture. It just depends on what setting its currently on.

  • It doesn't pull at all. It is very hard some say that it could be the ingine but by looking at some of your videos has me thinking different

  • @TheMiguel0205 It sounds like it could be seized. take off the spark plug and see if it'll pull then. you can drop some 2 stroke oil down through the spark plug hole to make things a little easier. You should also remove the pull start and make sure nothing is stuck in there thats preventing you from pulling it. :)

  • If my pull starter is getting stuck what do you think is most likely the problem?

  • @TheMiguel0205 Could be a few things really. does it pull at all? will it pull easily with the spark plug removed?

  • Hi, just watched you video. I'm having a tough time with my carb like in this video. I have bought new ones, cleaned the old ones as the video says. Still the same problem. Non Responsive when I hit the throttle. I would have to turn the adjustment screw way in to get it to respond without cutting off. I then took and moved my needle to the upmost position and tired that. Helped but still seems sluggish uphills, etc. Any other adjustments or advice?

  • @23cross ah right. so you have a different engine all together. look on the side of it for a serial number and you'll be able to find a carb for it with that info. :)

  • @23cross Is the bike a 4 stroke? or just someone stuck a 4 stroke carb on a 2 stroke minibike?

  • @23cross I cant post links here, but just search "minimoto carb", "cag carb", "47cc carb" etc and you should have no problem finding one. they are pretty cheap too but id advise stripping and cleaning it as shown in the video before fitting it. they are usually pretty dirty straight out of the box.

  • @23cross ahh right. you can get them easily on ebay.

  • @23cross Why do you need another carb? just strip and clean the one you have as shown in the video.

If you buy a new one there's a good chance you'll have to clean that anyway. Sometimes they can be filthy from manufacturing straight out of the box.

  • @23cross remove your spark plug and drop some 2 stroke down the hole, leave it a few mins and then try kick it without the spark plug. it'll probably be a bit stubborn at first but it'll turn over and then just stick the plug back in and see if it'll start. :)

  • Hay my electric starter won't work when I try rouse it I hear click click but the pull starter work good can u help

  • @OX805NARD You either dont have enough power in the battery or the starter is seized or need a new starter relay. you'll need to check them out to know for sure.

  • ok i need help here guys, i bought a brand new mini moto carb, and i put it on my bike..,now it keeps on cutting out when i rev it? what could be the problem?

  • @zHardcoreCinema Have you tried adjusting the position of the carb needle? its on the end of the rev cable that you will have inserted. pull out the rev cable and have a look at the needle on the end. you can remove it from the carb slide and move its retaining washer up or down, depending on where its located at the moment. :)

  • @tiganhonda woow i have to open up everything again :( ah screw it im selling it tmrw anyway haha

  • @tiganhonda by the way what do you mean by the washer? i dont get it haha kind of cunfusing its a brand new carb aswell lol

  • @zHardcoreCinema lol, you dont have to open everything, just unscrew the cap and pull out the rev cable from the carb. The needle is on the end of it and the washer i was referring to is a sort of retaining circlip that holds the needle in its position. Theres a 4-5 different poistions you can set it to. you'll understand as soon as ya see it. :)

  • @tiganhonda ok its like a small ring right? ive taken it out now how where do i put it ? i just put it right at the top but havent tested it yet

  • @tiganhonda ok i messed up i lost that little small washer in between my carpet and i cant find it anywhere! so what i did was the big washer i made that lock into the needle and i put it on the very lowest and started it it runs fine i havent sat on it yet.... but after 30secs it cuts out when im reving it.. i dont get it i never used to have this problem before with my old carb so i bought a new one and its giv ing me problems this isn't good...cheap china stuff!

  • @zHardcoreCinema Sounds like you just have an adjustment issue now. I'd replace the washer just so you know its reliable. they can be bought in hardware shops etc. its just a circlip.

leave the choke off and do some adjustments to the position of the needle, your on the right track. :)

  • @tiganhonda ok what i did was i just replaced it with the big washer on top of it... and i put it on the lowest one and tightened it after so.. the bike runs perfect now, i just sold it today and was so happy that it was running and i even showed it to him riding it... thanks for your help! your a genius! without you i would have not resolved this issue... i have a 110cc midi moto.. ill inbox you on the problem for that :D

  • @zHardcoreCinema haha, glad your sorted mate, im happy to help. luckily for you theres a lot less that gives problems on those 110cc bikes. :)

  • Is there a particular place you are setting the forks to? I can't seem to get this thing to quit dumping gas out of the overflow, and it appears that the further down I adjust the forks, I get an indifferent result. It is a brand new carb by the way.... I just got it in the mail on Friday!

  • @MrsBatmansMom you shouldnt need to adjust the forks, not unless they have been bent or something. its either going to be the cut off valve, which is the little needle like pin that attaches to the fork or it'll be the float which sometimes can have sharp bits of plastic around the edges that catch on the sides of the carb bowl. make sure to fit the float the right way around too. :)

  • @tiganhonda I'll check it out. Thanks so much for the reply!

  • @MrsBatmansMom i have the same problem so would you recommend getting a new carb ? the thing is i need one that isnt going to do the same thing after a few hours riding.

  • @batfastard95 No, i wouldnt get a new carb, once they are assembled properly they'll be trouble free. brand new ones often come with the same poor assembly thats causing your current problem. :)

  • I took the fuel tap and o-ring apart and i put it back together. then i put gasoline and it started to leak. CAN YOU HELP ME IF YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.

  • @SpyKid313 Where did the carb leak from? the tap joint or from the over flow tube?

you probably tightened the fuel tap down too much on one side and there's a gap left. you need to tighten them evenly for a good seal.

  • @tiganhonda the tap joint

  • @SpyKid313 ah right. well you either tightened it down too much on one side and its leaking out the other. Or, your o ring is bust. you can get them in any decent hardware shop. just bring t along with ya so you get the right ones. :)

  • @tiganhonda Thanks.

  • @tiganhonda Thanks

  • one more thing my mini quad is not starting even when i cleaned out the carb and the engine. do you have any solution

  • @SpyKid313 Are you getting spark? have you tried dropping a small amount of fuel down into the spark plug hole and see if it fires then?

  • @tiganhonda One more thing. Can you tell me how much oil you put in for 20oz gas

  • @SpyKid313 A 25-1 ratio if the engine is new, you can go 40-1 on well run engines.

  • I NEED HELP ASAP i mixed double the ratio of oil and gas on accident and it qwont start what should i do>????? there was oil leakin and shyt i need it back i just got it back from the shop too

  • @sniperpr0100 Theres a screw in the bottom of the carb bowl there with a red washer on it. Remove it and the fuel will al drain out. stick in proper fuel and drop a little bit of fresh fuel into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. then try start it again and it should be fine.

  • @tiganhonda ok i got it to run again itt ran great about 2 gallons thru it and i tried to start it today it started i rode it then i shut it off for a second and tried to start it agauin and nothing happened i changed spark but idk i did a whole carb cleaning. idk what to do anymore im lostt

  • @sniperpr0100 Did the cut off button get stuck maybe?

Try dropping a little bit of fuel down into the spart plug hole. If it fires then you'll know your car isnt fueling properly, if it doesnt you'll know your not getting spark.

  • @tiganhonda my "caR isnt fueling" u mean carb?

  • @sniperpr0100 lol, yeah i meant your carb, I hope your Car is fine though... :D

  • @sniperpr0100 regular gas? not mixeD?

  • i have a problem with my mini moto can u help.............Q. when i start and get mybike running or even if its just stood there it pisses out petrol through the overflow how can i fix this

  • @HBomb101273 Hi, Thats happening because your float is stuck and isnt cutting off the fuel supply when the carb is full. Its the part at 3:30 in the video, a white plastic ring float. check that out and make sure the bowl is clean.

  • helped a lot

  • @m4h4r4gimp Glad to help. :)
