I want to get into some surious backcountry skiing, but I don't have the requisite experience. As it is, if I leave my avalanche beacons sit on my coffee table, I will come home from work and see them sitting there and my heart will start to race. The part that scares me is that when I am wearing the beacon, and standing at the top of a slope, the fear is tha farthest thing from my mind.
