There is a video called something like Rossi Stoner Laguna Seca Battle on the Motogp channel. It is worth a watch. Great racing for us spectators.

Honda needed a title so badly this year(they havent seen one for at least 7 years), so they evolved their bike and spent MILLIONS on each bike to achieve it.

@disturbed1771989 He was a superlative rider even on the Ducati, Rossi is one of my favorites, but I know that he shan't win a championship on the Duke. Casey obliterated Hayden during qualifying and most races on the bike, Rossi struggles to beat him during qualy on most occasions, although he has a better race pace, and has no where near as big an advantage over Hayden as Casey did on identical machinery...Casey is extremely quick.
@disturbed1771989 Listen mate, the Ducati hasn't taken a step back, it has improved since last year, albeit having it's competitors a step ahead at this point of time...v\Vale's racecraft is almost flawless, prolly the best IMO, but he is pretty much always struggling to make it through to the top 10 in qualy, surprisingly, as Hayden has managed to do on several occasions. Rossi is a better racer than a qualifier, that's my point of view, really.
@disturbed1771989 No team keeps their engineering process static, at any point of time...It's just that last years Duc was more capable of battling with tlast year's front runners, Stoner rode it pretty nicely...Rossi's been riding well this year too, but it's his consistency and not his speed that has him in 6th place in the championship.
@nitroboost8765 I tend to believe Stoner's style of driving was what made him have a better grip on the ducati. He rode more with the back of the bike while Valentino needs to have a really good and trustful front end on his bike to be able to do his best. Something that he doesnt have on the ducati this year...

I've been following Valentino since '97..stoner is a great rider..faster on the single laptime but not in the battle..with an equal bike Rossi would be the winner Vs Lorenzo and Casey also now that he is 32 (he's not old at all..see motegi 2010..nothing change)but now with this tipe of Motogp if you are not competitive at 100% you can't win the title,,maybe some races..I can say that motogp without Rossi would be a lot boring,like this year..he's not complaining at all..he's waiting 2012

Just by looking at the statistics you will see that in 2011 Rossi did way better times on the Ducati than Stoner did in 2010. Also Rossi did better times on M1 in 2009 than Stoner did on Honda in 2011.

Honda needed a title so badly this year(they havent seen one for at least 7 years), so they evolved their bike and spent MILLIONS on each bike to achieve it.
Ducati stayed the same, they tried to go one step further with the non-existant chassis but its a failure.

@disturbed1771989 He was a superlative rider even on the Ducati, Rossi is one of my favorites, but I know that he shan't win a championship on the Duke. Casey obliterated Hayden during qualifying and most races on the bike, Rossi struggles to beat him during qualy on most occasions, although he has a better race pace, and has no where near as big an advantage over Hayden as Casey did on identical machinery...Casey is extremely quick.

Valentino did faster lap times this year than Casey did last year (on a better Ducati).
Also Valentino did better times in the 2009 M1 than Casey did this year on the Honda...
All that keeps Valentino back is Ducati and his stupid engineers who just wont evolve the bike the way its ment to be evolved.

@disturbed1771989 Listen mate, the Ducati hasn't taken a step back, it has improved since last year, albeit having it's competitors a step ahead at this point of time...v\Vale's racecraft is almost flawless, prolly the best IMO, but he is pretty much always struggling to make it through to the top 10 in qualy, surprisingly, as Hayden has managed to do on several occasions. Rossi is a better racer than a qualifier, that's my point of view, really.

@disturbed1771989 No team keeps their engineering process static, at any point of time...It's just that last years Duc was more capable of battling with tlast year's front runners, Stoner rode it pretty nicely...Rossi's been riding well this year too, but it's his consistency and not his speed that has him in 6th place in the championship.

@nitroboost8765 I tend to believe Stoner's style of driving was what made him have a better grip on the ducati. He rode more with the back of the bike while Valentino needs to have a really good and trustful front end on his bike to be able to do his best. Something that he doesnt have on the ducati this year...
