I don't know the full story here but the police seem pretty calm and restrained given how pissed off the people are with them, you'd never see the Met like that. Though I don't get why some of them have video cameras, or why they don't just tell the loyalist marchers not to march through the area and save themselves the effort.

Over the years areas which were predominantly protestant or catholic are now switched, but the parade routes remain the same.
