I had a similar idea when I was in high school. I have read a lot of books like this & it helps you create different monsters or add additional pieces to your monsters.

@woodwwad  I like spicing up monsters with strange new abilities, which normally has the players saying something like... "Hey! Goblins don't have tentacles!" "Mine do, and one of those tentacles is getting rather cozy with your character's ankle right now..." hehe. :)

Sounds like a book that would be great for a Supernatural type of game. Hunters of the supernatural-ish campaigns in an contemporary setting.
