  • where did you contact the company where on the website

  • if your computer has an hdmi and dvi port, can you plug in a dualhead2go in the dvi and use the hdmi to get 3 monitors?

  • i have 2 hdmi and a dvi on my video card do i still need that

  • I have a question. I've tried to hook the unit up to my laptop, but everytime I do it can not run on both monitors, it's one or the other, or leave the laptop out. How do I fix this? I've done exactly what it says i should. Thanks

  • Any thoughts on if this will work with a KVM switch? I'd like to hook up a windows laptop and a MBP to share the dual monitor arrangement.

    Thanks for posting the video.

  • Nice video... if only you weren't a macfag...

  • Great video! I got almost the same setup now - it's great. Since the mac treats the two external monitors as one, working with full size windows on each screen can be difficult - a tool that helps with this problem is iSnap, which is free at the Appstore ... get it!

  • why u dont show how it works..... which is as important as how it is connected ?? :((

  • Awesome review! I am looking at upgrading my old 2008 iMac and wish to go Macbook pro, this will solve my issue for having multiple monitors! I think I may go with the Triple though! I will see. worst case I go for the dual, which looks superb anyway :) Only thing left would be a docking station for my Macbook Pro! So I won't have to plug/unplug every time I take it out.

    Thanks.

  • So, if you have 2 outputs on your videocard, and you use 1 for the middle screen, and the other one for the DualHead2Go, will you have triple screen?

  • @myapplezone i have a shity 128MB built in graphics card chipset or whatever. if i set up one of these on my computer will it make the grpahics card blow up?

  • With the Dualhead2go, are you also able to use your macbook pro as another screen (macbook pro, monitor, and monitor,) or do you have to close your macbook and only use the two external monitors?

Also, is there any ghosting or lag with the Dualhead2go? Thanks!

  • @kehfehn You saw it at the beginning. You can use the Macbook screen and the two monitors at the same time.

  • What kind of connections do you need to go from the Matrox device to the monitors if you are using the Maxtrox Dualhead2go DP edition? Are they HDMI or DVI or something else?? I have 2 acer monitors and they only have inputs for DVI, HDMI, and VGA.

  • Can I do this with a tv and monitor, and using HDMI. I currently use my monitor for capturing gameplay or other video. And my tv (42'' HDTV) doubles as my monitor for my computer. But when I'm editing video, I'd like to use both for my desktop, so I can drag and drop onto the other monitor when I do editing and so forth. Basically, the same thing you have...but ones a tv, and ones a monitor (19'') Thanks

  • is there a lagging when you are watching video on the second monitor?

  • @lallaboy1 Think of both monitors as one big screen. There is no lag with the video at all. Thanks for the comments and I hope you'll become a subscriber.

  • Tof

  • can you use your laptop as the central monitor if you want?

  • Hi, my macbook is hooked up to 2 displays using the duelhead2go but only one screen is working, is this generally a problem? thanks.

  • @goodham1 Did you install the Matrox power desktop software?

  • great vids man just wanna shout that out there nice!!!

  • @MyDebater Thanks, and thanks for subscribing!

  • Are there any Latency issues? I heard there is a slight delay on the monitors.

  • @MOSUNdigital No latency with the video. But waking from sleep takes a little bit longer than normal. I would say about 4 seconds longer than normal.

  • who wants to buy me one of these?

  • Ive seen people connect screens through adapters on their usb ports, the only downside to that it isnt smooth when you are watching a 1080 hd video on FULL screen... although that lag was only on one of the screens ( the one that used usb ), the other screen was working perfectly fine..... So I was wondering do you get that too? please try watching a full screen hd video on both screens before you answer me that.. or well... if you experience anything similar please let me know... and thanks ^^

  • It actually comes in 3 versions:

    Analog (VGA to 2/3x VGA)

    Digital (VGA to 2/3x DVI)

DisplayPort Version (DP to 2/3x DP) (this one)

    :)

  • @minipullin Thats correct. Thanks for posting.

  • @minipullin You are correct. Thanks for the comment and I hope will become a subscriber!

  • @myapplezone Hi will this work with the new 2011 Macbook Air aswell?

  • I have the analog edition connected to my imac with two monitors but my two extra monitors are just displaying like mirror mode as one. I wanted to have three separate windows including my imac but cant seem to do this. I really dont see the point of having two outputs from the dualhead2go if effectively I still really only have two displays?? I have tried all there is to try in system prefs. Please help.

  • nice...little pricey though. $125.00 makes more sense...250 can get another monitor. Check out other options

  • are there any other products that do the same thing?

  • It watched the review right to the end just to see if you were actually going to plug it all in and give us a demo of what the output looks like... :(

  • I'm gonna get me a job when i'm done with school so I can buy a second screen for my notebook and desktop :) maybe a TripleHead2Go if I have enough money :D

  • Comment removed

  • How do you do it through RBG

  • @NickFoster2000 I think you mean RGB? You order the VGA version. Thanks for the comment and I hope you will become a subscriber!

  • I think ill buy it soon :D

  • I have one of those monitors lol.. Their made by both 19" Acers right?

  • @AtobeShytu They are 22" Acer monitors.

  • @myapplezone Ah, well i got the same but 19" :P Exactly same design tho

  • does your computer recognise it as 2 displays if not... thats my dealbreaker :(

  • @jaysenstudios Ive heard it will be one large monitor rather than two :( I want my laptop in the middle and my two screens on each side. And thats not possible :( So,yeah.. Deal breaker..

  • @jaysenstudios No one large display.

  • Hello,

Great video. I have a question, after you connect the macbook to the 2 external monitors are you also able to use the built-in monitor of the mac as a third monitor, meaning by this that you end up with 3 screens ?

    Greetings,

    Eduardo

  • @avlisodraude Exactly correct, you can use the monitor on the Mac as well. Thanks for subscribing.

  • Using a program called Isadora. Using the DualHead2Go to [try] and have two independent screens, rather than one stretching over to the other. I'm having a very difficult time with this. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

  • Do you know if you can use the new MBP with the VGA version of this device?

  • Good stuff. Good video, food audio and great content.

  • @TonyCreelman Thanks and thanks for subscribing.

  • Could you use this with a xbox 360 ?

  • porn x 2!

  • I am convinced. your review has made me a customer!

  • can you show us how two monitors makes your video editing a lot simpler with a mock video? I just don't get why you need two monitors for a simple youtube video. Please expound.

  • @marthanyc I will make a video about that.

  • Excellent video, been waiting for it for a while! :) With the Macbook Pro do you experience any noticeable heat increase with the GPU having to work 'overtime' to produce the higher resolution image? thanks :)

  • Great video!

  • @bomnx Thanks!

  • Great Video.... Have you ever found a good cable organizer??? Hint HInt...

    Take Care

    -Darrell

  • @BlueStaticFilms Thanks Darrell, I really need to do something about that. Not a bad idea for a video??

  • @myapplezone I will be watching your desk looks a lot like mine cables everywhere...

  • Nice, did you ever look into the EVGA usb display adapters?

  • @TekBeatTV Great question Will. Yes I did look at the EVGA UV product line. However, the Matrox offers higher resolutions, uses your computers GPU (not a virtual driver like the EVGA's UV Plus+ Family). I have not seen the EVGA 19 being used to drive more than one external display and since they EVGA 19 is over $100 you would need to buy two of them to drive two displays. I don't think the performance from the USB port would even come close to that of the built in display port.

  • @myapplezone Yea I actually use the EVGA UV 19+ for my triple monitor setup (overkill I know ;)). There is input lag but I use it primarily for twitter monitoring and other off screen programs that do not require much need for a high refresh rate. Did you experience any lag on the Matrox? Primarily with regards to when you move a window really fast around the screens etc.

  • you could've used a usb to display adapter

  • Great Vid!....Do you get any slowdown at all driving the 2 monitors?

    Thanks

  • @J273 Excellent question and something I forgot to mention in the video. The GPU does work harder to drive the two displays so sometimes there is a noticeable slowdown. However, I have only found this to happen when there are a lot of windows open and the main CPU is running close to 100% (while processing video, etc..) Thanks for the comment and I hope you will become a subscriber.

  • what gb harddrive are you using? And Ram?

  • @carviper2 Ryan, it is MacBook Pro with the core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM and a 750 GB hard drive. Thanks for the question and I hope you will become a subscriber!

  • i hate apple

  • Awesome!!

  • @ComandanteJuanPerez Thanks. I hope you will become a subscriber!

  • What camera do you use? The quality seems to good to be a usual webcam but it apparently still displays your recordings live on screen.

  • @TheSayWhatTube I just started using a Canon T2i. The video quality is amazing. I'm still learning how to tweek the settings so the video quality should get better in my next videos. Thanks for the comment and thanks for subscribing to the channel.

  • @myapplezone thanks a lot for that quick answer... I definitely have to check out the T2i.

  • I'm getting tired of this Mac vs. PC shit now... The Mac has a way better OS and makes windows look like shit. I have a Windows computer beacause i am a gamer. Gaming - Office: Windows EVERYTHING ELSE: Mac OSx. BTW, Great video!

  • why dont u buy a pc and put a very nice video card like the hd 5770 and triple monitor it while u take a giant shit on ur mac

  • @Demon20child because Macs are the best.

  • @Demon20child PC...? LOL

  • @MOSUNdigital Why dont you explain then why PCs suck? Since you are Soooo Smart...

  • You've got an awesome setup, I love it :D :P

  • @Bmastertjuh Thanks Bryan and I hope you will become a subscriber!

  • @myapplezone i should already be a subscriber :S, i watch every video you make. I love your reviews. You've always got good quality and stuff :D

  • omg fuck me hard baby

  • i payed $120 for my 26 inch westinghouse 1080p hdmi monitor. i use that for my ps3 and i have an acer 22 inch monitor that i use for my computer.

  • @Napalmdeath420 Sounds like a cool set-up you have. Thanks for the comment and I hope you will become a subscriber.

  • There's actually 3 versions, you have the DP version, but there are also VGA (as you said) and a Digital version which uses DVI

  • or you could save 29.99 and use an adapter that comes with the iphone and plug the usb in there

  • @zombieland111

get a One form radio shack for couple a bucks

  • @zombieland111 I was thinking that too LOL

  • @zombieland111 No, unfortunately that won't work. The power supply for the DualHead2Go is completely different. Thanks for the comment and I hope you will become a subscriber.

  • I'm guessing your monitors are the exact same. What is the screen size on them?

  • @WirelessHotShot The are both 22 inch Acer displays. About $149 online.

  • 200$ are you fucked?! I mean having two displays is nice but I'm not paying over 50$ for something like that.

  • yummy

  • great job as usual!

  • @coleisaphosphate Thanks Shaw!

  • @myapplezone np

it's awesome that you got that for free lol :D

  • Great review this is what I am looking for

  • @MarkTheTechGuy Thanks Mark!

  • Great solution! How is the quality when you play back the video? And also did you have to turn up the brightness on your displays after you hooked up the device or where the defaults levels of the displays still sufficient?

  • @TheRaceforTech I did not have to change any of the display setting. The quality of the video will be dependent on the GPU in your system and the type of monitors you are using. For video display quality I would rate the Acer displays an 8 out of 10.

  • Great video! I'm a huge fan of multiple monitors... You probably see it in the background of my videos all the time =]

  • @marquesbrownlee Thanks Marques! Having dual monitors has made videoing editing so much easier.

  • Great video man as usual, btw that light really improves the video quality.

  • @bilsta57 agreed.

  • @bilsta57 Thanks Bryce. I'm still tweaking the lighting and video setting. Hope the quality gets even better!

  • I NEEDED THIS THANKS!!!

  • @junoyeopTV Thanks Joon!

  • congrats on the partnership!

  • @bomnx Thanks.

  • what software are you using to record?

  • @lorrenpebley probably screenflow

  • @nicholapple You are correct!

  • @lorrenpebley ScreenFlow. Thanks for the comment and thanks for subscribing!

  • great video! im looking to get a monitor myself

  • @theipodtycoon Thanks!
