quick question for u man, i have a 40 gallon tank with 5 peacocks, and 3 yellow labs. as far as the peacocks go, (2 red jacob and 3 yellow peacocks) the biggest yellow peacock seams to be pretty territorial to the other peacocks. will this pose a problem in the future or do the fish mature and become more docile
Man I need to get some of these guys! My Africans are quite small and are mostly yellow-tailed Acei.I need a bright red to break the tank up a little and have a focal point. I have two Red Zebras but the are nit what I need to make the tank POP!
robz420 that is one beautiful fish.. may i ask how long have u had him? what do u feed him? looks like a really healthy fish.... i notice u have him in the tank alone... will u had any other fish to the tank?
Thank you. I have had him for a little over 3 years now and I just feed him TOP FIN Cichlid Pellets. I did have him with another fish in another tank but took him out after almost half of his fins were eaten off.
Peter Ruben first came up with these peacocks 18 or so years ago. A very nice example. I kept crossing these fishes off spring and after 10 or so breedings started getting some albino's. Then they would give up a 50 percent albino's(albino reds) to regular Rubens. In Florida the well water is a sulfur water it really makes them spawn.
With the picture the light is from the flash of the camera whereas with the video the light is from the tank which is a fluorescent bulb resulting in the color difference. Also in addition considering that I am not a professional with the camera the different setting from video to picture mode probably affects the color difference.
Nice ruby red. But wow 10gal please put him in a 30+ tank. Awesome fish.

Labs are no threat. The most they do is chase. Hardly ever, they harm other fish.
