  • man the lightsaber has a long handle and a short blade

  • Pick "man only " exclusion when there is a valid reason. You are a sexist. Yuch!

  • just a tip NEVER sharpen a blade towards you 3:45 !!!!!!!

  • did you just say you like to finish off by using alternate strokes? ROFL

  • Wait, are you the same guy that has the "if" tattoo?

  • protip: mineral oil = baby oil

  • 3:29 AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!

  • I have 4 pocket knives that need sharpening lol

  • HOLY CRAP I have one of those knives...

  • Hey thanks for the video man!! Your techniques got my Puma Packer hair poppin' Sharp!! U can literally shave with it. Lol nice video!

  • can baby oil be used as a form of lubricant?

  • I Bet You Live With You'r Mom.................

  • @RDRfreak98 He actually is a lawyer who lives with his wife and children.

  • @RDRfreak98 why in the fuck would you say that?

If you weren't mildly retarded you would have noticed he has wedding ring on.

  • @RDRfreak98 Jokes on you he is living with his wife :D *Wedding ring*

  • can you use a sharpen stick used for kitchen knifes??

  • Is it possible to buy a new blade because I tried to sharpen the blade with out lubricant so now the blade is blunt and useless, does anybody know ?

  • @nedsp1 - I'm not really an expert on knives or anything on the topic, so people may disagree with me.

You could try using the Smith's Pocket Pal Sharpener (which is like $8 or $9). It has a carbide slot where all you have to do is insert the blade and pull it through the slot. It strips away metal very quickly, and I find that it's good for grinding a new edge on unusable blades. Then you can probably finish the sharpening on a whetstone.

  • @LotusLeaf88 ,thanks

  • I have the exact same stone and oil haha. Awesome video

  • I've got 3 pockets in my pocket knife.

  • i got 3 pocket knives in my pocket lol

  • As a lapplander we do the hardwork with a sharpeningstone and spit and we do not stroke the blade like you do at the stone. When doing the precise sharpening we use leather.

  • tenacious ftw

  • wearing rings is not the art of manliness

  • @lilryan84

it is if your married to a woman

  • A real man would sharpen it with his ring muscle..!

  • 240p is for real men!

  • you talk way too much about nothing

  • watch?v=Vi2gzCrS-fE&feature=related

this link u sharpen it with a mug

  • faggot

  • If you buy the victorinox tinker special pack, you get the knife, a sharpening ROD the size of a pen, and a case for the rod that has a shirt/pocket clip. All for $20

  • Those, my friends, are woman hands.

  • what if u cant find one of those stones cant u just us a regular old brick with a fine smooth edge or is there another way besides a stone

  • this guy seems like he gets it in alot...

  • cool. My dad gave my a knife like that to

  • i have a knife similiar to yours, love the video thank you

  • if i used a rock would it work?

    or a brick lol

  • @clockwork624 it would be a really rough edge this way you get a clean edge

  • Elbow grease? I thought you were using mineral oil.

  • how many pocket knifes can the stone sharpen?

  • I don't think a knife blade can overheat and warp while you're sharpening it.

  • can you use a small rock to shapen the pocket knife?

  • omg 2:31 - 2:46 thats what she said!!

  • What's a good lubricant to use?

  • @999thisisstupid ky his and hers.. oh wait, you ment.... dammit.....

  • @Jackleandcheese That is hilarious!

  • is that a kabar pen knife?

  • cool..

  • @GregorGrigorio Well nice of you to copy-paste stuff. Maybe one day you'll use it in the real world and you'll see that WD-40 isn't primarily used as a lubricant, although it has small lubricating properties. It's used to degrease shit and protect from water. It being a lubricant is merely a secondary use. If you want anything lubricated, you'll buy and use something else.

  • I dont use a sharpening stone. I Just keep a knife sharp with steel and/or a lether belt. After each work I make my knife sharpen edge better with steel and if I need a razor sharp knife I work a litle bit with leather belt. And thats all. If you keep your knife sharp you dont need a sharpening stone or other sharpening accessores. Ofcourse if you have dull knife than you need a sharpening stone. My grandad use a sharpening stone, but he use water. Stone is wet and the job is the same.

  • I use WD-40 to lubricate my stone

  • @Will33211 Except that WD40 isn't a lubricant.

  • i like using my GF for a sharping stone....ROFL lol im 12 not really

  • @MrBuginator Wow, you should become a comedian.

  • get a sypder sharpening system...and while your at it become an educated man and learn about blade steels and get yourself a good knife....rule of thumb if it cost under 40$ and does not give 440c or aus8 blade steel then it is a peice of shit

  • kan u use a brik? im cheap haha XD

  • @sk8r2473 Yes, in fact you can. Murray Carter has a video showing how sharp you can get a blade using a cinder block. The point being, skill and technique are more important that the tools.

  • olive oil is also a great lubricant for the stone and its easy to get. thanks for the video!

  • @kingmichaelb123

    terrible idea. it'll go rancid..

  • @resadrianlk i do lolz

  • was that lighter fluid you used as oil

  • can I use baby oil since it's mineral oil based?

  • @BallisticTristan Yes u can

  • Duude just get a Spyderco Sharpmaker if you don't know how to sharpen a knife. It's simpler than a stone which is kind of advanced.

  • I bought a fifteen inch survival knife and on the holster a two inch by one inch sharpening stone was included, what do

  • i ahve the same one ;O

  • Wow! For someone who professes "manliness" you certainly know your english grammar quite well. Caviat!

  • Home Depot, norton sharpening stone $4.98 super cheap, just picked one up

  • I personally like the serrated blade folding knives.. I used to carry one before but it was a shitty swap meet one and since I've never carried one.

  • @mixwell1983 same, i have a real nice black lockback knife and i serated the edges and now its great

  • I think every girl should have a pocket knife too. ^^ As a girl I use to carry around scissors and all little whatnots with me, got a pocket knife for my birthday from my friend, best gift I ever got! Thanks for the video!

  • @Shetasen amen to that!

  • @Shetasen marry me

  • @ Gabbyinthedark

Its PUT some back into it not BUT. Nice try though. Did anyone else think it was odd the direction he was sharpening the blade? I learned different...

  • That my friend is a manly man. lol

  • OMG I GOT THAT SAME KNIFE FOR FREE

  • on prison they know how to make a knife on almost anything

  • Actually I have run into many situations where I use my pocket knife daily. Such as using my blade as a screwdriver.

  • OMG! I got the same knife from my uncle :D!

  • Lol stupid "where can I get elbow grease?"

  • Is there like a substitute for the oil like water if you don't wanna spend on the oil

  • If you use oil, keep using oil. If you use water, you have to use a water type stone, like the ones from Japan.

  • thnx

  • diamond stone i like it better

  • @longshawt well WD-40 works

  • Brilliant comments. Morons. Good vid.

  • A Sand stone will work, If you ever go trout fishing in any free stone rivers/streams, look for flat sand stones. THey absorb oil just like a regular sharpening stone and work great for axes and such.

  • damit now i want a fucking appel and i dont have any in the fridge damit but im going to try this

  • very nice! Im a member of your site! :) Im prolly going to put a vid on how to sharpen a knife as well, on my show DIY. if you wanna see it, just go to my page, thank you

  • worked great for me! thank you

  • get a rock from outside

  • It'd have to be a smoothish type of rock. A rough one wouldn't work to well..

  • where do i buy elbow grease? XD

  • haha u stupid fuck

  • @omg987456321 - You go to your local Home Depot and pick up a mexican or 2 if it's a big job.. Sad but true.. haa

  • @mixwell1983 HAHAHA

  • @omg987456321 holy crap i was thinking of saying that while i was watching the video! WEIRD!

  • @omg987456321 its made by by your elbow!

  • @omg987456321

Same place you get your headlight fluid.

  • How do I sharpen my boujie knife?

  • @omg987456321 any of ur local hardware stores

  • can anyone tell me where i can get this stone because plan buying the t lyte with a zytel handle this month thank you ii would really appreciate it

  • i take a rock, hit id with a hammer, and sharpen at an angle

  • Wouldn't it have to be a bigish type of rock? That way it doesn't bust into shards?

  • does this scratch the knife? and does a kitchen sharpener scratch the knife?

  • Good vid. Knives are tools.

One tip: Stop just shy of letting the tip come off of the end of the stone. That will keep you from rounding off the tip. ;-)

  • haha did that apple taste like loob?

  • well im using my kitchen knife sharpener.... XD

  • this vid is rugged

  • is it ok to use olive oil or canola oil??

  • you have some pretty hands...

  • I have that exact same knife my grandfather had one and when he died he actually left that to me. he also left me his .22 which was nice!

  • Idiot. Elbow grease is a euphemism for force. you know, but some back into it?

It means hard work. Google it. Dumbass.

  • dude you dont need lubricant just use your saliva!

  • i have a tiny chip on the tip of my benchmade mini griptillian and it pains me everytime I see it.

Will the sharpening process fix the tiny chip on the tip?

  • yes it will, my winchester pocket knife loocked like a saw blade but i sharpened it and it was fixed quite nicly

  • yes

  • i used vegtable oil would that work

  • i got 2 of the same knife!!! :D

  • Thats one awesome song. What is it called?

  • looks like zippo lighter fluid XD lol

  • actually you are not suppost to put too much pressure into it. Just the weight of the knife + a tiny bit.

  • ur completly right about that but most ppl dont have that kind of pashents and tend 2 try 2 speed things up a bit sure its not as afective but its faster and thats what ppl want these days is fast no pashents 4 any thing

  • I use WD 40

  • can you use vegetable oil instead of lubricant?

  • vegetable is considered a lubricant

  • do u need the lubricant?

  • thats what he said! hahahaha

  • rofl

  • (at 4:22) the reason you drag the knife away from you backwards and bring it back to you backwards is not a sharpening preference. Its for safety reasons. Its not the greatest idea in the world to be pulling the sharp end of a knife towards yourself .

  • me 2 fagz

  • what the freak my dad has the same knife too...no joke

  • omg...so does mine im not even lying lol!

  • wow mine has the same one too what the hell hhaa!!

  • h.o.l.y. c.r.a.p... my dad has the same friggin knife, that is crazy. Great vid btw

  • XD did you really wash off the lubricant before cutting an apple

Nice guide to sharpening a pocket knife. And yes I finally see you :P

  • hahahaha

  • Wrong.

  • Tell that to the next person that goes to the ER.

  • I have carried a pocket knife since my grandfather gave me my first one at 8 years old. I usually carry one in my pocket, a bigger one in my laptop bag and always have a Leatherman on me, on the belt. Thanks for the great video and easy lesson, pretty much the same way my grandfather taught me as a young man. I can't count the times I have saved the day by having a sharp blade when needed.

  • you stab some1? lol

  • I've never stabbed anyone. Saving the day is a figure of speech, but yes, I have had a knife and cut a rope wrapped around someone while they were getting squeezed before and I'm glad I had a well sharpened knife. It's an invaluable tool every man should carry.
