Al Bowlly puts your heart in the "CLOUDS" and you stay there just thinking this great singer was in our midst at a point in time never to be revisited or duplicated as God made us all unique even in our fallen state. Thank you Lord for this magnificent talent taken all too soon, but nonetheless appreciated!!!!!
He was born in Lourenco Marques (Maputo), Portuguese East Africa (present-day Mozambique) of Greek and Lebanese parents. He later went to South Africa, and then the rest, as they say, is history!
@pax41 So true - I usually add Al's songs to my playlists before they even start playing! Al's playlist is up to 40 songs now! I've put 12,000 songs on over 550 playlists by artist, year & genre -hope you'll stop by! Chuck

First time I've heard this one; and I've been a Bowlly/Noble fan since the mid-'80's! Great!

Great song; Great singer; Great band.
I don't think Al Bowlly was English though. I believe he was South African.
Thanks for sharing.

I assumed he was due to singing with Noble's orchestra. Thanks for the info

One of my favorites of their records. Connie Boswell does a great job with this tune as well.

I think this is the best of the British bands. Bowlly also was the best English singer of this period too.

There are a couple of great Bowlly film clips on YT.
