Honestly, I have to say I like the way the Unicorn Activates @1:24 and struggles to break free of it's cage. It's kinda neat how the armor separates and you can see the psycho-frame underneath. Feels much more dramatic than the OVA where the cage opens up and the Unicorn just walks out.

I get it now! When I watched some fan-made openings, I saw some unfamiliar scenes which weren't shown in the OVA at all. It actually came from the promotional videos. Hahaha. Silly me.
i find myself a fan of gundam OVAs and side stories. the only complete 50-ep. series that i've ever watched were Wing, 0083 and Seed. (Wing was the series that introduced me to the gundam megauniverse, it was pretty good....Seed is okay...a lil too soap opera-ish for me, and omg i swear the director has a disgusting fetish for footage reusage). my favorite gundam series so far : 08th team, 0080, 0083 and this gundam unicorn OVA that is coming up
another question: I heard there WAS another UC series in production, but was eclipsed by Gundam UC. I think it was called MSG 0081 which should've featured RX-78-7. What happened to it?

@MissChibiOverdose You don't have to watch all of the Gundam series to understand Unicorn since its based on the original timeline of Gundam; Universal Century. the following you should watch so you could understand the story well: 1. Mobile Suit Gundam(1st show) 2. Zeta Gundam(it will explain a lot of stuff) and finally 3.Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack(movie) In terms of timeline 1. MSG is in UC 0079 2. Zeta is in UC 0087 3. MSG:CCA is set in UC 0093 4. Unicorn is in UC 0096

Unicorn is supposed to bring an end to the main Federation Vs. Zeon conflict, which has been going on for nearly 20 years in UC. it also sets up for some of the later elements we see in F91 and V, such as the lack of newtype based mobile suits and the Federations political weakness and inefficiency.

that animation looks incredible. unicorns weapon setup is a little bland for my taste mostly becuase of the creativity from 00 but that suit is just awesome! not crazy about the pink but its still going to be a crazy awesome movie!

I don't want to compare 00 with Unicorn or argue with anyone, but I have been a Gundam fan of every series and I loved 00 the best. It wasn't all fan-service like Seed or emo like Wing; it was a complete series on its own with great mech designs and a cool story, and I can't wait to watch Unicorn as well. Also, the movie is coming out soon along with possibly Seed (which was long forgotten), so I think Gundam fans should stop fighting other series and just like them all like me. Gundam ftw! ^^
It would be nice if people would stop comparing 00 to Unicorn. They are totally to different eras in Gundam history. You cant really compare Gundam 00 to anything seeing its the first gundam series to actually take place in our timeline. Unicorn belongs to UC, Seed is CE, Wing is AC. All Gundam series have similarites but the eras are very different.

What looks "gay" about it? This is a PV, not even a trailer. It's not going to be crazy and action packed. Besides, this is UC timeline goodness, with Mineva Lao Zabi's storyline finally getting realized. I for one am extremely excited about seeing the aftermath of the One Year War hit the small screen once again. 1988 (Char's Counterattack) was the last direct continuation of the original MSG/ZG story.
let me refresh what i was trying to say. the story will be good I have no doubt, the mecha designs are some of the best ever in gunam. in fact gundam unicorn s the best designed gundam have ever scene. but this animation looks pretty crappy. look gundam 00 was actually in high definition and used state of the art computer graphics. you have to a least give them credit for that.
Generally, the OVAs have a higher animation budget than the regular TV broadcasts. This video may not be doing justice to the animation quality. Also, it's all done on computers these days, it's just a matter of what visual style they go for. That being said, I have high hopes for how this will look. That and I prefer old school quality Gundam visuals over the digitized look of SEED and 00.

Why are people comparing Gundam 00 to Unicorn? Unicorn isnt even out yet. If you going to compare it to something compare it to Gundam Wing. Seeing most people who are fans of Gundam like Wing. Can't wait for this series by the way. 00 and Zeta were the best, but I didn't like the OPs of 00. Also, 00 had some flaws in the design, but it was saved by Second Season and the soundtrack, and by great mech design.
What were 00's design flaws. I mean I was bias in the beginning when I first saw pictures of how the Gundams looked but once I saw the series I couldnt say one bad thing about it. All the gundams looked amazing and they only got better in season 2.
design flaws might be the wrong term on my part. What I meant was that the pacing was overall bad. It first begins with the CB being overpowered. Then someone comes up with a new tech/weapon, and CB is almost defeated. Then CB comes up with a new tech/weapon, and they once again pwn their enemies. But then someone once again comes up with a new tech/weapon, and CB is once again losing. I don't like it. There is something wrong in that progression.
Thats generally how Gundam goes. Except for gundam in the UC universe. For example Seed, The first gundam gets Kira gets the best gundam out of the hanger raid gets owned later on by Zala which almost kills him then Lackus gives him the Freedom which is more advanced in everyway and Kira trashes the Gundam in the final battle. Then you have Destiny, Freedom returns gets, owned by Shin who gets the Destiny, Kira gets the Strike Freedom and crushes Clone boy Rey.
Wether or not the dub comes depends on the popularity this series will recieve in Japan. If it's popular, funimation will most likely want to get some money with it in america.

As far as I know, Unicorn will be Six Episodes long.
Also: A 00 Gundam Movie will be released in September 2010.
And yes, a new Gundam series will be released this year (it doesn't have an official title yet, fans refer to it as Gundam 0081)

On the first episode of Unicorn gundam they said that they were saying goodbye to C.E. and welcoming U.C so does that make since, and beside according to turn a gundam all the timelines will cross with that series so in reality it doesnt matter on the era it matters about the story

Interesting. I so would love to see it. I also agree with you about 00. I mean 00 in my opinion was one of the best. The action was non stop and hell there was even a point when I thought all the gundam meisters were going to die for hot second and season 2 talk about epic. When 00 and Reborn Gundam were duking it out......... DAMN!!! Then Hallelujah pistol whipping the Innovator and ripping off the escape LMAO. GUNDAM HISTORY!!!!

What looks "gay" about it? This is a PV, not even a trailer. It's not going to be crazy and action packed. Besides, this is UC timeline goodness, with Mineva Lao Zabi's storyline finally getting realized. I for one am extremely excited about seeing the aftermath of the One Year War hit the small screen once again. 1988 (Char's Counterattack) was the last direct continuation of the original MSG/ZG story.

let me refresh what i was trying to say. the story will be good I have no doubt, the mecha designs are some of the best ever in gunam. in fact gundam unicorn s the best designed gundam have ever scene. but this animation looks pretty crappy. look gundam 00 was actually in high definition and used state of the art computer graphics. you have to a least give them credit for that.

Generally, the OVAs have a higher animation budget than the regular TV broadcasts. This video may not be doing justice to the animation quality. Also, it's all done on computers these days, it's just a matter of what visual style they go for. That being said, I have high hopes for how this will look. That and I prefer old school quality Gundam visuals over the digitized look of SEED and 00.

Why are people comparing Gundam 00 to Unicorn? Unicorn isnt even out yet. If you going to compare it to something compare it to Gundam Wing. Seeing most people who are fans of Gundam like Wing. Can't wait for this series by the way. 00 and Zeta were the best, but I didn't like the OPs of 00. Also, 00 had some flaws in the design, but it was saved by Second Season and the soundtrack, and by great mech design.
Hope this one will be great.

What were 00's design flaws. I mean I was bias in the beginning when I first saw pictures of how the Gundams looked but once I saw the series I couldnt say one bad thing about it. All the gundams looked amazing and they only got better in season 2.

design flaws might be the wrong term on my part. What I meant was that the pacing was overall bad. It first begins with the CB being overpowered. Then someone comes up with a new tech/weapon, and CB is almost defeated. Then CB comes up with a new tech/weapon, and they once again pwn their enemies. But then someone once again comes up with a new tech/weapon, and CB is once again losing. I don't like it. There is something wrong in that progression.

Thats generally how Gundam goes. Except for gundam in the UC universe. For example Seed, The first gundam gets Kira gets the best gundam out of the hanger raid gets owned later on by Zala which almost kills him then Lackus gives him the Freedom which is more advanced in everyway and Kira trashes the Gundam in the final battle. Then you have Destiny, Freedom returns gets, owned by Shin who gets the Destiny, Kira gets the Strike Freedom and crushes Clone boy Rey.

Wether or not the dub comes depends on the popularity this series will recieve in Japan. If it's popular, funimation will most likely want to get some money with it in america.

hmm 12 or 13 episodes could work if they condense the story and give us a big movie afterwards, but that would only cover few of the story arcs..i mean, so far they came up with 10 books. hopefully they will not skip too much of the materials with the 6 x 50mins OVA....
