  • he is hot

  • Beautiful :') Thankies! Wait... 3 dislikes?? O.o I think they're men...

  • Mmmmmmm...that first clip of him as the Sheik...I saw the Son of the Shiek at age 17 or 18 on tv and never forgot it. I saw "The Sheik" play at a movie theater a few years ago and seeing it on a large screen was powerful and thrilling. I'd like to think my immigrant Russian grandmother's heart fluttered when she saw his films in the 1920s. He makes my heart flutter in the 21st century. And yes, I'd love to be kissed like that any time, any place. Swoon.....

  • Rudy was doing his job, according to Adela Rogers St. John, who knew him and includes him in her book, "Love, Laughter and Tears." She says he was much more a regular guy than a great lover, and when he was looking dreamy it was because he was very nearsighted and refused to wear glasses. Of course glasses would have made him look silly in love scenes, so it's just as well. The love of his life was his wife Natasha Rambova, who broke his heart when she left him.

  • You can't watch this just once...

  • OMG! To be kissed by him...ecstasy. Noone like him ever. Ever. Sex coming from every pore of his body. He is just so beautiful; I adore him. He envelops the girl in his arms, kisses her from fingers to neck, cheeks, then - lips. Just envelops her. I have a dream of being kissed by him. Even when he dances with such grace, it's like he's making love. Oh, wow....

  • These people were so good at putting across a loving relationship, It is the best filming you can get, Tammy Mast, Your Royal Countess, Savior Healer

  • With his glance he captures my heart. With his kiss my soul belongs to him!

  • He just oozes of sex....

  • Pre Hayes Code. A couple of open mouth kisses I noticed and his hand on one of the women's breasts.

  • @zatzme100 Yes at 1:30 he grabs the girl's titty, but don't let your passion

get you carried away. Look closely at each one of the "kisses". He kisses

the side of the mouth, the chin, or gives "pecks", then breaks loose and

grins. The ones as the sheik are hilarious & I bet he was lol.

Those are "hollywood kisses" done strictly because it was his "job".

I've seen this before with a few, ahem, friends of mine.

Rudy is saving his best kisses for "someone else", and I'll let it go

    at that.

  • @GooglFascists

Who the heck are you talking about? Everything you say is pure bunk! FAKE kisses - what???

You're just trashing the memory of one of the most beautiful sexy men who ever lived. Why don't you save your snide comments for yourself?

And as for the "hilarious" shiek kisses - if those are hilarious to you, you are from out of space.

  • @dovecast1 Typical woman. HO-HUM. You're all alike. You live in a fantasy

world you built in your own mind. Bet you voted for Obama too, right?

    "YES WE CAN"

  • @GooglFascists

I did NOT want to reply to your asinine remarks about me but I feel I must. My original post about Rudy says it all; I meant every word I said, and that's it. If I want a fantasy that's for me to know.

(My politics are none of your business, but I sure did NOT want Obama or the other one(s) either!).

  • good Lord look at his bicep at 1:42 !!!! <3

  • For some reason I get compliments that I kiss like Valentino....oh well.....

  • OMG this is HOT. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore. :-(

  • What music is this from? Its awesome!!

  • Man o man. I am out of breath!!!!!!!!

  • This man makes me cry....such passion!!!! <3

  • Oh Rudy...God bless you and your sweet roving hands. What man !I don't care how many times the director yelled "CUT"! I wouldn't stop if Rudy was kissing me and I'd slowly drag him down to the floor and....well never mind. :)

  • RUDY was a GREAT SMOOCHER...LOVE THE VIDEO!

thank you Crupprecht1 for posting and thank you My Darling Baruch for sharing.

    Smooch

    Genia

  • The very first kiss, from "Son of the Sheik" -- is this perchance from a European version of the film? It's longer than the kiss I've seen in other videos, in which Vilma Banky pulls away almost immediately.

  • @TokyoSpike yes, the first scene is indeed longer. Not sure if this is actual unedited footage or if it was taken from a European print/cut.

  • @TokyoSpike In the edited version, notice that he tries to get his hand on her breast, but she's too close. I read that she was dating some Hungarian royal who accused Valentino of having an affair with her and challenged him to a duel. Both showed up, but the Hungarian guy backed down. I'm wondering if Vilma stood closer to keep his hand off her chest, to keep peace with her boyfriend. The clip where he uses his thumb to caress her breast appears in the 1940's tribute video, on DVD.

  • I just died! *_*

    I love him sooo much!

  • hmm....isit bcuz of their makeup tat all d women he paired up w/ seems super ugly

  • Olá... gostaria de assitir o filme dele " A vida de rodolfo Valentino.

Já tentei de tudo em achar o filme dele a internet e não consegui...por favor me ajuda.

    Obrigado

  • He was so handsome. I saw the movie the Sheik. Very romantic.

  • I shock.I lose one`s head. He is the most beautiful man...WOW..За его поцелуй можно всё отдать...

  • 1:15 his smile makes me melt...I'm so glad I found Rudolph and Buster Keaton :)

  • good gawd, i would totally die if he kissed me. I would completely lose it/myself. I actually think I'd do anything he wanted me to hahaha wink wink

  • Oh, Lawdy! I was born too late! Thank-you for this exquisite sampler -- Rudy's kisses look better than chocolate!

  • Thanks for this GORGEOUS video !!!

What's the name of the background music, please? I really like it !

  • wonderful Valentino...

  • He so cute that it makes you hate your own boyfriend.

    Ha. :)

  • Ah...classic!! Gotta love Valentino!!!

  • Hoje agradeçoa Deus, realizei umsonho!

  • Oh yummy, what a sensual and handsome man! He takes my breath away--I would've love to have been kissed by him.

  • Guess what, everybody! Rudy's "Day Dreams" has been re-issued in paperback and is now available on Amazon.com for only $20! I just got my copy and I love it!

It's particularly special because although we've heard Rudy sing, we've never heard him speak. This book contains his words, so it's a way of hearing his inner voice.

  • Delicious kisses!! He kissed like nobody. Delicious Valentino!

  • Why don't men kiss like this anymore? At least, why don't they watch the Master and learn how to do it properly :)

  • @Seferis My opinion is that you can't "learn" how to have this kind of passion--you either have it or your don't. Many men don't. Those actors who try to pretend they do fail. My opinion is that Rudy wasn't acting in the sense of pretending. His passion was real, just like that of other actors I've read about-- Gary Cooper, for example. From what I've read , Rudy's and Gary's leading ladies were very much aware they were into the role--there were signs, if you know what I mean.

  • @msrudyfan WELL SAID!!! Rudy definitely had it and it was very real.

Oh to have been one of the very lucky actresses who was given such signs. :-)

  • @msrudyfan I agree you can't learn passion/ Rudy was unique but, given the men I know and how they kiss, I would settle for them learning just technique!! RV melts me every time I see him kiss.

  • I still like this Valentino utube/video the best. Love the music and of course Valentino looked like he was a great kisser!!!

  • He takes your breath away!!!! There was nobody and will never be anybody as charming and capable of conquering the hearts of vewers as he did! Men envied him , that"s why they pretended to hate him, and women thought of him when they made love to their boyfriends or husbands!! Love u Rudyy! U tearned Hollywood around and the stereotyping and prejudices about foreign looking people! U prooved to be more sensational and artistc than all dumn blonds in Holywood

  • great video! men take note...this is how you kiss a woman!!

  • I loved the video. I have been a Valentino fan sinse I was 12yrs. So glad to find him on utube. cathy

  • I loved the video. I have been a Valentino fan sinse I was 12yrs. So glad to find him on utube. cathy

  • I loved the video. I have been a Valentino fan sinse I was 12yrs. So glad to find him on utube. cathy

  • magnifique

  • And Botham's "Valentino: The First Superstar" is the best biography I've ever read. If you like Valentino you ought to read it!

  • I noticed that too! Dern censorship laws!

  • Right now I'm envious all the women in his films XD How it's possible he magnetize after all these years?! He does it, really... fantastic, I adore him.

  • I love this video, it's one of my favorites. Thank you for this wonderful video that pays tribute to RV's romantic, passionate nature and showcases why he still is "The Great Lover."

  • this is a great video, love the music! also, what movie is that at 0:39?

  • Cobra (1925)

  • 1:28-1:36--The kiss that led to the creation of the Hollywood code. *SIGH* He is so fine.

  • He was outrageous, wasn't he? He's in a steamy scene with a girl but he looks off to the side and GRINS! Gotta love him, girls AND guys! What a character. I think his charm was you could put yourself in his situation so easy, and he got that innocent look on his face so often, like: "I can't help it, I gotta kiss you!" Or, "Its not me, its my raging hormones!"

    PRICELESS! One of a kind.

  • @4freespeech This is from the film "Camille"--he was trying to make his leading lady jealous. You should see the film. When he looks at Consuelo Flowerton (the girl), and grins, you know what message he's sending about what he wants or is planning to do with her.

  • This is the boy whose uncles thought he would never amount to anything . . . Holy Mother of God.

  • So much for his uncles. Shows what little they knew.

  • Yes. This 1921 silent version is included as a bonus feature on the 1937 version of Camille starrting Greta Garbo. This is available at Amazon and other DVD retailers.

  • i would love for someone to learn me the 0.19 "reverse/retract" one. anyone who want to apply?

  • Camille (1921)

  • No, not at all!

  • Thanx so much! early 20th century cinema is so inspiring...

  • Oooh, hot stuff

  • Are my eyes playing tricks on me or did I just catch a quick glimpse of Rudy running his thumb over her breast at 0:10 ??? if so....ohhh slick boy :)

  • I just had to watch that scene at least 6 times to be certain your eyes weren't playing tricks on you. ;-) Rudy is definitely a breast man.

    Take me Rudy, I'm yours.

  • He sure is lol...thats ok with me ;)

  • I watched that scene at least 6 times even though I already was certain he was caressing her breast. Which is why I watched it 6 times and will continue to watch it a lot MORE than 6 times!

  • LOL I keep coming back to this and watching that little slip of the hand!! ;)

  • Yes, at 1:10, he did brush her with his thumb. But that's nothing to 1:36!!!!

  • :) do u mean at 0:10 ? I saw that little "slip" at 10 secs but at 1:36 ohhh lord help me!

  • @FlaviaR Well, he could "1:36" me anytime!! LOL

  • Wow I have never seen a man kiss like that! Who wouldn't wanna be kissed by him! He had such screen presence and charisma!

  • Wouldn't you love to be those actresses? *sigh*

  • Yes, I would, especially if it involved retakes!! ;)

  • lol BbalNintendo, Valentino is the only man I wouldn't resist when it comes to sex assult lol ;)

  • then it wouldnt be sex assault if it is concensual! hehehe still sexy though

  • well then....full concent is granted to this man as far as i'm concerned lol...he's too much! if....if only i could channel him and convince him to possess my hubbie hehe ;)

  • Join the club. :-)

  • Bravissimo! Rudy is magnifico! No one kisses like him. If I could only trade places with Vilma Banky in that video.

  • DAMN - still too beautiful!!!!

  • my god, it's easy to see why women went crazy over him

  • yeah! never ask -just do it.

  • Great job on the video - makes everyone see what the fuss was about with him. There was no one like him.

  • Pay close attention men....U want your female to melt at your feet, watch the master!!!

  • That man makes me feel like I've been hit with an aphrodisiac hand grenade.

  • Everything goes as long it's Rudy! He is the best of the best.

  • Yes, his hands touched the breasts of women the odd time, but I thought that the way he used his hands in other scenes were amazing. For example, watch how he uses his hands when he meets Yasmin in the ruins the first time. (The video above doesn''t show enough.)They were really amazing. Everything about him was amazing but the way he held a woman or caressed a woman was beautiful to watch.

  • @dollyduke Have you seen Cobra? Right before Rudy kisses Nita and fondles her breast, she turns toward his midline and her arm and move up his body I think she fondled him first--check out the look on his face. They didn't call her "Naughty Nita" for nothing. They wre lovers after he split with Natacha.

  • This is one of my favourite videos on YouTube. The kiss I like the most is between Rudy and Nita Naldi from 0:32 - 0:42. Great work in putting this together - it is very tastefully done!

  • umm... i kinda wonder why the guy's so good looking and girls are, well... average

  • Italy, the country of love, arts and beauty is now in the hands...Of villains!

  • Hooray for Captain Thunder Lips!

  • Thanks Rodolfo ( and not Rudolph...he's italian ). Thanks to u teaching now we are all latin lovers and we know how to conquer a woman.

  • Speaking of names, Rudy must have had an Italian nickname. What is the diminutive of "Rodolfo?"

  • Rodolfo being an unpoupular name haven't nicknames in Italy....Rudy is perfect...but is american...

  • Nice ;)

  • mmmm..

  • Haha.. I had no idea that wandering hands made it on the big screen in the 20's! Must have been outrageous for its time.

  • Nice video, what's the name of the music and who's playing it?

  • Carl Davis & The London Philharmonic Orchestra - "The Tango"

  • Rudolph should be hang from the gallow pole for being a such a womanizer !! off to the guillotine he goese !! bring in the firing squad !! Rudolph you beast, you have devoured your last woman,in the end,i heard he died of chapped lips from kissing so any women,is it true ??? ;)))

  • I love how he's always trying to cop a feel! Hahaha, naughty boy! <3333

  • Rudolph is funny @1:14--1:16 haaaaahhaaah,i must perfect the art of kissing like Rudolph ;))))

  • Yes, I would love to be grabbed by his naughty hands.

  • any more commments

  • Happy Birthday Rudy!

  • Wow, can this man kiss! Every man should watch this and get some tips on making a woman swoon!

  • OW! That was magnificent! Eighty years and he can still burn up a screen. That is the sign of a great sex symbol (and someone who became quite an actor as well as he improved himself) -- decades have passed and he's still making women swoon. (The way my grandmother said she & others did when they saw his movies for the first time). Now I'm going to let my laptop cool down while I take a cold shower! LOL

  • I've treid 3 times to thank you for directing me here and ask if your cold shower helped..lol

Why won't my comments post?yt can be frustrating some times.

  • my PC is burning, thank you

  • The third kiss is just FABULOUS! -never mind his naughty hand..;)...but, but.. the kiss.. just makes U melt slowly! What a man, what an actor!

  • can anyone tell me which movie clip 0:33 to 0:40 is from? thanks :)

  • This is from Cobra (1925)....and one of my all-time favorite kisses :-)

  • Rudy, you sensousl animalistic loving beast, you! I share the same birthday as you do, May 6. I especially love your 1000 watt lovely smile at scene 1:12 to 1:14 so knowing, and ravishing!!! Also, Scene 1:20 to 1:36 where your grop that lady's lemons especially taboo for the 1920's wow! How was that done? But you could get away with it. Peace always and amorous desires all the way.

  • Well, I guess when life handed Rudy a pair of lemons, he made lemonade (tee hee).

I LOVE it when he's Mr. Naughty Hands.

  • When Rudy came to this country, it was like Italy sent the U.S. a valentine. Happy Valentine's Day to Rudy, the best valentine a girl could ask for.

  • where's the clip from 1.13 from?

  • From Camille (1921)

  • The so-called "mystery" about that CD on eBay is solved. Someone bought it and discovered that the recording that was supposed to be of Rudy speaking was actually a selection from the Kashmiri Song.

  • I think Rudolph Valentino and Elvis Presley had a lot common. They're both dark, mysterious and handsome. But at the same time they posess that certain gleam in their eyes that reveal great souls. And not to forget that both had a way with women. At least me;)...

  • I was just thinking of the Elvis comparison while watching this (before I read your comment). You are on to something there.

  • I keep coming back for this. This clip turns me on like nothing!

  • The biography "Dark Lover" says that the two songs Rudy recorded are the only recordings of his voice. But right now on eBay, someone is selling a CD that claims to have a 30-second recording of Rudy speaking. I contacted the seller and she is "positive" it's Rudy, but she doesn't know how or when the recording was done. Can anyone shed some light on this? If you want to see the CD, go to eBay and search for item #390020273702 (I can't paste the link here; it's too long.)

  • Happy Holidays to everybody!

  • It's the day before Thanksgiving and I just want to say that one thing I'm thankful for, is that Rudy came to the U.S.! Thank you, Rudy! And Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

  • I think I just wet my panties a little

  • ...when the italians were loved and seen as latin lover :)

    Now all hate us :(

  • I've seen pictures of Rudy holding a guitar (in real life, not just in "Blood and Sand.")Could he actually play one, and/or any other musical instruments?

  • Yes, he knew how to play the guitar and was actually planning to take piano lessons upon returning from New York in the summer of 1926. Unfortunately he never got this chance.

  • So he was musical, too? My God, he was a walking Renaissance.

  • The art of love and kissing,it's not for the faint of heart ;))

  • I believe that if Rudy had had more time on earth, he would have been a sensation in talkies too. He had that wonderful charisma that made you aware of only his magnetism and charm when he was on screen. He was steadily improving his acting as he matured and I feel that he wholly deserved all the love he is still attracting to this day. We were all cheated of a wonderful gentlemans talent and beauty when he passed away so young and vital.

  • You're quite right. The use of speech would've brought out even more depth and nuance in his acting. He would've commanded the screen in a whole new way. He was on his way to such great things. Yes, he, and we, were all cheated. It's heartbreaking.

  • As the song says, ". . . kisses sweeter than wine."

  • Was Rudy fluent in French as well as in Italian?

  • I read that Rudy was fluent in four languages and that would include French, Italian, English but I don't know what the fourth would be.

  • Yes, as his mother was French. The others are Italian, English and Spanish.

  • I agree and what a shame because his improvement (I don't know if that is the best word)in his acting skills from "The Four Horsemen" to "The Son of the Sheik is quite striking. Again we can only imagine what would have happened to his career. I just feel blessed that we have been given the opportunity to watch many of his movies.

  • "An indirect suicide". That is a really good way of describing what happened to Rudy. You are so right because didn't he really give up, that is, not get his ulcers treated and do everything he shouldn't have done which made them worse? If only he had taken care of his health. And this was a man who worked out continuously to keep in shape.

  • I agree, that even though he was ill while filming "The Son of the Sheik", he did look great. It is too bad that he really let himself go after his second divorce. Natacha really must not have loved him, to leave him after he said that she could not be on the set with him while he was acting. He did choose badly when he chose his two wifes.

  • Can you imagine the pressure he had to endure being dubbed "The Great Lover"? I guess we can only imagine what he had to endure. Emily Leider said that based on her evidence, he really was not happy the last months of his life. Also, having read what he had to endure when he was in hospital before his death was horrible. For someone who had so much, he really had so little.

  • I do know that she came forward after he died stating that she was carrying his child. Of course she wasn't. I sounds like she was a few slices short of a loaf.

  • Thank you for the info. I will look into it.

  • Being deemed "The Great Lover" put more pressure on him. So on top of his masculinity being questioned and his marriage breaking up, he had a certain image to uphold. No wonder he had ulcers. Natacha did not help in any way and I agree, he should have not married an actress. (Especially one who thought only of her career and how she could advance it).

  • I can't argue with what you are saying. It appeared that he became more difficult about his movies while under the influence of Rambova because my research indicates that he was not like that before or after Rambova. (Not that he didn't want to make good films during those periods). Rambova did not help his cause but her influence helped alienate his friends and caused him to make questionable movies (The Little Rajah and Beaucaire). Thank goodness he got back on track.

  • Valentino was by no means perfect (who is?) and obviously made many mistakes. But I again agree with you. When I first became interested in him, I was fascinated in him right away and that interest has by no means waned over the past few months. And here we are talking about someone who died in 1926. I would like to get my hands on Emily Leider's book, since it is considered one of the best about Valentino. I really can't read enough about him. One can't that about many people.

  • Pola went above board during the funerals. And Marion Benda was consider delusional. She didn't have any of his children. The conduct of Pola during the funeral clearly indicated that she was only thinking of herself. Again Rudy chose unwisely. If I had one thing to ask him, it would be "what were you thinking"?

  • Again you are right. His choice in women were indeed questionable. What a shame. All he wanted was a devoted wife and children. He was considered "the great lover" but the fiascos of both marriages eroded that image. Why did he choose these women out of so many???????

  • Again, you are right. I think that the failure of his marriage, and the pressure about his sexuality affected his health. He was suicidal after Natasha and she really was not worth it. But you are again right when you state "whoever experienced this before"? We are talking about the silent screen and this was new to everyone. I can't stand Pola Negri especially the way she conducted herself after his death.

  • I think that we are on the same wavelength. I agree with you totally. It appeared that he had everything. But he didn't. He did have the looks and the talent (which seems like a lot of people resented) and all he wanted was to be accepted as a serious actor, and have a devoted wife and children as you say, but it never happened. Since I have never heard him talk, I can't answer the question whether he would have made it in the talkies.

  • Anderdorm, you are right. Nita Naldi did state that Natacha aborted three pregnancies because she did not want to get pregnant. My god, how could she do that. She obviously did not love Rudy, but loved what his stardom could do for her talent. And there is no doubt that she was ahead of her time. But face it, she left him as soon as he said that she could not be on the set.

  • That was the scene with Alice Terry in "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and her husband Rex Ingram directed the scene. Go figure.

  • Ah, I see what you mean. I never noticed that but you are right. I just looked at the version of "The Son of the Sheik" at the W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library Videos site and it is a close up view but I watched his left had and it remained on her right arm. It did not go near any part of her chest area in this version. Very interesting! You are very observant. I wonder why there are two different versions?

  • I have watched the "Son of the Sheik" on the internet. You just need to the Cal Poly Pomona site where Mr. Kellogg owned the Arabian horse Jadaan used in the movie. The entire movie is there and this scene is when Ahmed visits Yasmin in the ruins just before he is captured and tortured.

  • You mean she married him without telling him she was gay??? How could she do that to him???

  • In the sheik moment, imagine what he could've done if her arm hadn't been in the way.

  • Rodolfo à la Cinema Paradiso...

  • This should be required viewing in college, it would help a lot of guys out :)

  • They showed it in my Popular culture class!

  • What? The showed my vid or one of the films?
