  • hahahahaha If you've had a cup of coffee then FUCK OFF! hahaha

  • DUDE change the title of this video, then people might actually watch it.

  • Wow. That lady had some sense when it came to the hacking scandal and I was prepared to believe she wasn't only angry at the red tops because they had targeted her at one point. Then I saw this, and she has a stance which is as ludacris as....discounting the opinions of people who have to interact with a system they are not in favour of. Or.....buying a cup of coffee:| Thanks Paul and Ian for being unbaised:)

  • This woman truly is an idiot.

  • Useful idiots...

  • This is one of the reasons why we dont pay the tv licence zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz check out Inside occupy and the bank of ideas. This is lamestream!

  • I'm not sure if I should up vote this for hislops and mertons support, or down vote it for the poor video description.

    I'm in a moral pickle

  • Tory cunt owned.

    Ian Hislop FTW!

  • Are Political parties just putting pretty faces forward for their local wards to vote for ? as this girl is an idiot.

  • Whinger. Aside from the fact the captains tear into the MP, so what if they do make fun of Occupy? Is Occupy immune from satire?

  • A question for opponents of capitalism; Define capitalism and then offer me a better system, what system do you think it is preferable to live under?

  • @FreedomFighterUK Shortly and non-exclusively: A system with private property and wage labour.

I'd rather live under libertarian socialism (examples of ideologies/philosophies that can be placed under the banner of this term are anarcho-communism, anarcho-collectivism and some anarchist individualist philosophical strands, and probably more that I can't remember atm). A system without fixed economic rules. Some production modes are better for some products than others.

  • @FreedomFighterUK Well - The scientific method has delivered over 400 years of sustained progress in every field it has turned it's attention too. Whilst we can not replace capitalism with science, we can certainly adopt the things which make science so effective and apply them to social concern. Peer reviews, a culture of skepticism and celebration when ideas are proved wrong. Capitalism could be loosely defined as the opposite of the scientific method - at least in it's methods.

  • I think you have the wrong end of the stick old chap.

  • I find this womans lack of vision concerning. Capitalism is clearly working out pretty well for her. It's a shame she can't take a moment to consider the literally billions of desperately poor people across the world which is required by this system for her to maintain her decadent lifestyle of TV show and expensive suites. And BTW, the ques at Starbucks were a natural result of there being no toilets available at St Pauls on occupyLSX day 1. TV is ridiculous!

  • @DigitalMediaActivism spare us the Marxist puke and abject hypocrisy.

  • @greenbone23 I do not advocate Marxism and nothing in my comment suggests Marxism. What is this 'abject hypocrisy' you speak of'? Your entire comment is meaningless and pointless. You have an emotional attachment to the system of capitalism. Ask yourself, is an emotional attachment to an idea more or less likely to benefit you in the long term? It's just a system. Relax!

  • it isn't government funded, it's directly public funded!

  • I thought a lot of them stuck up for the protesters. Louise Mensch doesn't seem to understand it is almost impossible to live outside the capitalist system. It is everywhere.

  • Louise Mensch YUK!

  • Totally misleading title. Pull that stick out of your arse before writing next time.

  • What an ill informed woman. If a woman lives off the income of her husband, does that mean she has no right to justice if he is violent, abusive and exploitative towards her? We are shackled within this capitalist system, and with record unemployment coupled with record corporate profits, to suggest that we have no right to seek change simply because we purchase things from monopolistic corporations that have driven most of the independent competition into the ground is simply absurd.

  • If you actually watch this you might want to change the title!

  • "very fancy tents" oh lols

  • Starbucks were supporting us from the start, they gave us free wi fi, let us charge our phones and use the toilets, a number of protesters (including me) decided to support them back by buying there product. It was a mutually beneficial non verbal agreement...

But i guess that dosen't make for good comedy

  • I think Louise Mensch is right!

  • @juneyseUK You are using the word 'think' a bit loosely.

  • paul and ian laying down a vicious and well deserved smackdown on this corporate bitch

  • I agree, it was the dreadful Tory Louise Mensch not the BBC panellists who were actually taking the P out of her.... poor show to whom so ever put this up. You look foolish, so take it down why not?

  • Occupy the Bank of England.

    Occupy the Houses of Parliament.

Do something that will really affect them.

  • Hmm, seems to me they politely tore her a new one. Snotty cow deserved it too. Good form. what what.

  • I blame HIGNFY for Boris Johnsons popularity, the UK's answer to GW Bush

  • It actually seemed to me that everyone was kinda standing up for their protest except the lady. Although, I am a coffee drinker so am probably either wrong, or impertinent to think I have the right to an opinion ;-)

  • That braindead bitch is that of a stray dog.

  • if you drink coffee im not interested

  • 1:15 Go on Paul!

Kicked that retarded bitch's ass :D:D:D

  • By the way that Tory MP is absolutely gorgeous, as much as I despise her political ideology it has to be said Louise Mensch is very good looking. Perhaps I, amongst other things, could bring into the brighter side of politics.

  • @YouCantKillLove She looks pretty hideous to me. Stupidity can make anyone ugly.

  • @KnowingDasEin very true

  • @YouCantKillLove - yeah, thats how it starts, she is a poster-girl for the tory party, probably someone elses idea for her to be on the show, and unfortunately doesnt come out of it to well, trying to labour the same joke three time till she is totally shot down by the other panelists.

  • They were (Ian and Paul) were actually defending the protesters! the video description stinks!

  • @YouCantKillLove In fact they were not sticking up for genuine protesters but Tavistock agents within the OCCUPY movement.. believe it or not Tavistock influence would have been the majority within that studio audience of around 100 , which in turn also had millions of users sat at home having there opinions forced for them due down to social engineering and crowd manipulation on such a scale one might say its positively MONSTROUS.

  • @Baddaification I AGREE ITS ALL TRUE

  • @smeggerss peace.

  • I don't enjoy capitalism. Capitalism is responsible for 30,000 children dying everyday, people dying of starvation whilst others die of obesity, the 3 top richest people in the world have more wealth than the bottom 53 countries entire wealth combined, what a sorry world we live in....i cant stand that ignorant woman, her eyes are closed

  • She is an idiot, look if we boycott capitalism it will hurt the workers the most not the elite bosses. The System needs replacing not the products!

  • Thank you, you don't have to want to go back to the stone age to want things to change, also where can you get a cup of coffee that does not include any capitalism these days.

This is the point, its not that we want to stop capitalism its that it needs to change, everyone should be able to earn enough to keep there family safe, fed, warm, and dry with a good education, not so they can drive fancy cars, own mansions and keep everyone else down to fund there extravagant life styles.

  • "If I can smell Expresso on your breath, get outta here" Mwahahaha. Nice one...

  • She's the Type of Sneering Swine that will be glued to the News With a Nice glass of Expensive Chardonay when the Protesters are being Tasered and Tear gassed!

  • She is a dumb bitch the other two where ok tho.It aint CAPATILISM EITHER.These people think that everyone is stupid. The mocking is only going to ignite the flame of the human spirit.Keep mocking and keep taking the piss.OFF with therte heads

  • But that's just the brainwashed, moronic Conservative MP sheep-woman whose.. "No..no, it's just so obvious I can't be bothered."

  • are you guys for real!!??? They ripped the piss out of that silly woman for being so obviously narrow minded and biased. Get a f**king sense of humour! That's called sarcasm. Christ!

  • what a shame a peoples movement is ridiculed by such a bunch of well paid corporate entertainers , coffee ? thats all they got ? pathetic. mainstream media letting the people down again

  • BBC is a filty government controlled propaganda machine, you only had to see the disgraceful reporting of the Libyan insurgency where they were running out of lies to tell if the fighting had kept going much longer they might have had to start telling the truth!!!!

  • After watching Have I Got News For You for over 10 years (since I was 12), one of my favourite moments by far.

Fully worth the license fee alone sometimes.

  • I think the two BBC guys - Merton and Hislop - did a good job. Ms. Mensch is... well, the less said the better.

  • Dear Ms Mensch, I am considering voting for your party, but lack the necessary lobotomy required. Please could you give me the name of the person who performed yours, as he / she seems to have done an outstanding job. Many thanks.

  • this is classic HIGNFY. they ambushed her. said a few lines to get her to open up then boom:)

  • The title was confusing :D I already knew about this episode though I hadn't seen it, and it was great how the others handled her ''out of touch views'' which certainly weren't the views of the ones actually employed by the BBC there.

HIGNFY Has always shown itself to represent a wonderful balance of English politics, the middle ground where we all would rather be I think. (You don't have to be Liberal to realise that Stock Exchange Regulation is a good thing!)

  • Ian Hislop is great.

  • 1) HIGNFY is one of the funniest things the BBC has ever produced ( I also like Top Gear so my opinion there might not hold much water)

    2) Menschs defeat was not due to the fact that shes Tory, it was purely because she was completely out-classed in that company, let's face it; most of us would be too.

    3) Starbucks is a huge supporter of capitalism and has, no doubt, been involved with some shady goings-on with various govt agencies. Dont support the thing you're protesting against - bad PR

  • Louise Mensch is the british Sarah Palin.

  • "much better to get some lobbyists in"... haha bitch got OWNED!!

  • Comment removed

  • What's this government-funded BBC you speak of? Tell us, which branch of government do you imagine "funds" the BBC? Leaving aside the World Service, which is indeed directly funded by the government, the rest is funded by a little thing called the licence fee, I don't know if you've heard of that? It's a charge the BBC levies to pay for its output instead of selling advertising like a commercial broadcaster. I suggest you away and learn a few basics about how your country actually works!

  • Re: the title. Tbh, the BBC is considerably anti-government. I think this is just people taking advantage of a potentially comical situation. Like when people make a joke out of illness.

  • They showed that vacuous little Tory tart her arsehole

  • But... with the exception of Louise Mensch, everybody seemed supportive of the aims of the Occupy movement. Ian Hislop in particular makes a living attacking the excesses of the rich and powerful. Whoever put this clip up, you did actually watch it first, didn't you? I ask because your title for it makes you sound like a bit of an idiot. I'd watch the clip again, and then change the name of the clip if I were you.

  • To be fair to Merton and Hislop they did a pretty good job of putting that Tory Shill Mensch in her place.

  • Stupid woman! The only reason people buy at Starbucks at the protest is we have limited supplies to provide coffee for everyone. We buy the cheapest supermarket coffee's so does that mean we support the tyranny of supermarkets...?

Starbuck's is a business, if people are stupid enough to spend a fortune on their coffee, then Starbucks make a profit at their expense. We're here to protest capitalism in banking and corporate buy-outs of government officials.

  • That queue she was referring to was a queue for the toilet in Starbucks who were kind enough to let us use them on the first day of the occupation! I should know..i was there.

  • It was for the toilet, maybe if that fuckwit lady was ACTUALLY there.

  • What the fuck are you all complaining about, Ian and Paul (BBC employees) were actually standing up for movement and taking the piss out of the one person to smear it. Watch the fucking video before you start whinging about one of the only organisations ready to stand up for common sense. Christ!

  • @beefdlo

    This

  • @beefdlo I was expecting government slant using comedy which sometimes on some BBC comedy programs makes me think absolute (multi-culty communist generally) propaganda, but when I watched that episode on Iplayer I thought it was quite good shooting down tory pop-tart and her from the book of tricks pejorative summary... I quite like Merton and Hislop, that episode made me reappraise Danny Baker as well...

  • @beefdlo Just what i was thinking!

  • @beefdlo that is the point 'OCCUPY' is an inside job involving agents from the Tavistock corp . YOU would think the C.E.O of 'PRIVATE EYE' magazine << lol would be able to actually spot this and broadcast it to the intellectuals that he thinks buys his twoddle, INSTEAD he will indeed probably know this and take the cash whilst belittling a half informed character over her rather accurate statement. End product being everyone who laughed at that woman being mocked ' had a forced opinion ' set

  • in there easily brain washable minds.

  • Louise was trying to get a quick laugh there but if you live in a monetary system, you HAVE to buy coffee.... if not you will go very thirsty unless you want to drink from rivers.

  • A few days ago on "The One Show" Henry Winkler was the guest, and when asked what the wall street protests were about he said it was because of jobs??? and high unemployment???

Total propaganga bullshit from a man who as just accepted honors from the Queen. Just about says it all doesn't it.

    .

I actually found myself quite upset as years of fond memories of Henry Winkler were tainted and ruined with the realization that he is now an establishment agent of blatent disinfo :(((

  • @LordHewing

PS - His body language was highly suspect too as he tried to claim the protests were simply about jobs. He looked in several directions as he said the key word s "It's all about jobs"

    .

Fuck the BBC corperate owned propaganda machine and all it's media whores. I'm fed up with the feeling that I'm sitting in a theatre watching a stage and actors.

And I was long ago fed up with all those panel shows that just ridicule everything. Influencing everybody that it's cool to take the piss

  • @poulter27 i wonder did she vote for eu referendum?

    i think not....

  • @poulter27 every time i see this i keep thinking she's about to chant,

Ra Ra Ra were going to smash some oinks!

  • It's a very sucessful comedy show, well known for it's satirising of a huge range of subjects. They take the piss out of her views. It's got nothing to do with "being out of touch" or "gov. funded BBC". The comments are meant to be FUNNY and doesn't criticise the "Occupy" movement at all, nor detract from the balanced reporting of the proper BBC news.

  • who was that stupid bitch?

  • they begrudge the 99 percent even coffee and tents now - no food or shelter for you, they say - and that's the problem, so how astute of them to point out their own stupidity

  • Did you know, if you are blind, they will discount your licence by £5.00. SAD is it not… greed is it NOT… Mafia is it not.

Thom in Scotland. FUK the BBC>

  • @fuelban your comments don't read very well

  • @YouCantKillLove > Read well or not, is of no matter, they are what is. I resent this cost, only slightly less than I resent the fact it is mandatory, mandatory licence fees in a free economy is oil & water, and they do not mix. It is wrong and will always be wrong. It is a colonial hangover that needs to go. {We either have fee choice or we do not} - {we either have a free market or we do not} which is it!.

    Thom.

  • @fuelban get rid of your television its all a load of mind numbing crap anyway, watch shows online if you want to. I agree with you, it should not be compulsory for t.v owners to pay the licence fee.

  • @You Can't Kill Love you don't have to. just ask the bbc that they scramble the content so you can't receive the signal. balls in their court then.they cant force you to pay a licence(subscription, as it's annually) when you have informed them you don't want their product.i've done and they left me well alone.

  • @inoexist What I mean is the BBC own the rights to your television signal receiver, not the monitor. You can unhook the aerial which means you won't (obviously) be able to watch any T.V at all. So the issue here is one should be able to pick which channels is paid for instead of having all free-to-view channels or none, regardless of whether you watch the BBC or not.

  • @YouCantKillLove the bbc don't own the rights to my tv signal receiver. i never signed a contract with them and they never asked. like the police they rule by consent, all you have to do is tell them NO and they can't do a thing about it.peace.

  • The BBC are “NOT” funded by the “government”, They are paid for by the {UK Public}, Under threat of fines, harassments, & Home invasion unless you pay £145.00 per year to them they will Harris you rotten. The UK Government give the BBC Law to do this, they are in bed together this is true, but they only supply the law for the BBC to use against its people. A total mafia… all done through lobbying & backhands to pass laws…

    Thom.

  • @fuelban

So you want something for nothing? £145 a year is less than 40p a day for 7 national & many local radio stations, world class TV programmes & news reporting with no commercials, & iPlayer.

To say "but they only supply the law for the BBC to use against its people" is ridiculous, maybe you think laws against shoplifting "are laws for shopowners to use against the people".

The reason we have good commercial stations in this country is because the BBC set such a high standard.

  • @Wordavee1 The point I make seems to escape you…. The point being THIS, We cannot look at any Channel unless we have a BBC LICENCE… This is doctorial, we cannot own & operate a TV, without this BBC Licence, this is WRONG IN ANY LAUNGUGE NO freedom of “choice”, SO “DICTORIAL”, if BBC IS so {fantastic}, let them charge using the same process as SKY / VIRGIN, Or any of the others.

    THOM.

  • @fuelban

While I agree that everyone is stuck with the licence because of the way it was origonally set up, what I disagree with is your extreme language. "Mafia", "lobbying & backhanders" "use against its people" are very extreme & exagerate the situation. If the BBC stopped Sky & Virgin broadcasting their progs and started subscriptions, do you think you'd get it cheaper than £145?

  • @Wordavee1 This presupposes that I want BBC or indeed would subscribe to BBC... which I would NOT... I cannot watch FREE VIEW without this poxy licence . it equates to the following: that "Rolls-Royce" (Nice as they are) that "Rolls-Royce" say that you need to purchase a "Rolls-Royce" road licence for £145.00 per year... without this RR road licence you cannot drive your 20 yr old Skoda... is this fair ... "Whom is the ext ream" ME for complaint, or them for the unfairness... WELL !!!.

    Thom.

  • They are against selfish greed. Not against capitalism you ...lady.

  • @TheDrfoxx Corporatism.

  • @TheDrfoxx they just want the government to write them a bigger welfare check.

  • @hayden50

As opposed to the cheques the bankers write for themselves??

  • @hayden50 and so will you when they take all that you have

  • @poulter27 and by the way she talks you'd never guess! :o)

  • The only one who ridiculed the protestors was that ugly bitch, who the hell is she ?

  • Paul Merton is on our side...they must have planted that stupid mare in there on purpose!!

  • @pahorn66

Of course, they often do that, there have been classic guests who have had a horrendous ribbing, like Boris Johnson and Lembit Opic.

  • they dont know what they talk about. stupid fucks

  • fuck um .. thats what I say

  • the guys were ripping the woman for her snobby comments.

  • I wonder how much coffe is actually in the "coffe"

    Fucking ignorant fucks

  • Of course, BBC, of course, you are always so ignorant! Bastards!!

  • All the panel was missing is Charlie Veitch :-)

  • To be fair, I thought the guys on this show did a good job of ridiculing the MP's view and standing up for the protesters right to be there.

  • @DE4THbyFE4R yeah, agree!!! :) Typical right wing argument; avoid the subject in question i.e crisis of capitalism, and try to undermine the protesters over minor issues which are irrelevant

  • BBC AGAIN ? What do we expect they are Gov funded ;)

Shame the people sitting at home on their sofa`s weren't aware of it though !!

  • @UkTruthSeeker2009

I'm sure that most of the people sitting on their sofa's are well aware that they PAY THEIR LICENCE FEE and it has nothing to do with the government.

  • @Wordavee1 Yes they Pay a licence fee unknowingly that they are just watching One Big Drama of Lies.

Not all of those people on the video are unaware You can tell the ones that aren't .

There`s` been a man on RT This week who tells his story of how the Media want to tell the truth (real news)

but will loose their jobs if they dare.

Now that`s` not right nor is it Honest !!

  • @UkTruthSeeker2009

"Now that`s` not right nor is it Honest !!" Nor is it true!

Can u explain why u believe "a man on RT" (what's RT?) and not a raft of highly dedicated & intelligent people who sometimes risk their lives to bring us the real news in this world?

I don't know how this Illuminati/secret people who run the governments/lizards-in-human-skin crap started, but I think it is a sad world where people are so paranoid they go thro life thinking a bogey man is going to get them 1 day.

  • @Wordavee1 Who said anything about Lizards ? Not me You did .Are You telling me they are Russian ?Because if You are it`s` You who`s` afraid of the bogey man lol I do not care if they are from a back street in Pakistan or shed in Africa I have Nothing against these or any races of people. What I care about is the news they report being worthy of hearing.

To be Honest I think it`s` YOU who is Paranoid You are scared of the Russian spy ;0) Been watching too many James Bond Movies .

  • @Wordavee1 You are kidding , do you really think there is no correlation to the government and BBC..

  • Comment removed

  • I used to watch crap like HIGNFY, MOCK THE WEEK, etc...

    1..not funny

    2. makes 'light' of things to placate the masses from actually doing something about it

  • @majorkeybaree HIGNFY.... not funny? YOU TWAT.

  • @majorkeybaree There is room for humour.
