I love this guy!! He has a great attitude..although a comment he makes I do disagree. Being white is not an act...as he said "put brown people in front of a camera and have to act white"..I was born that way, wasn't my choice nor do I consider it an act, it's just a "part" of who I am as being Native is just a "part" of who he is. But all in all, I wish he could come here to speak in our city! Somebody I would want my son to look up too! =)
@Mattson2071 I don't think that his choice of words were meant in any bad way, simply just a means of quickly bringing light to the struggle of the Anicinabe gaining recognition!
@TheEnneagram So what! The question was not why are first nations stereotypes prominent in ONLY Canada. Your only trying to weaken the value of this argument, which is what the dominant Caucasian race always does.
@LeeSmokeyday I think that person was just saying that this problem is not exclusive to Canada. They aren't weakening the argument, they're saying it's a more prevalent one.
I love Wab, indeed an amazing voice for our people :)

Pretty sure "Indian giver" referred to the white settlers who gave stuff to the Natives and then took it back (or just masacred them).

@Mattson2071 I don't think he's trying to call being white an act, but saying that he needs to change who he is to become television-friendly.

Stereotypes of First Nations people are prominent everywhere, not just Canada.
