Why are the original 5 ft+ traditional native american pan pipes neglected these days? in them days they were no such thing as the small ones like now
@triggerja i think the big ones are way better in sound and music than the little ones. Its too bad that no one uses the big ones. its almost impossible to find here on youtube and the internet :(
that's ok , but... if you wan't see the best of the best , check '' 50 panpipes'', the romanian folklore , you be speachless, breathless...the masters of panpipes..
Cool! I have a set of those at home and I am learning how to play my own songs. I can play 'Mary had a little lamb' and a song called 'leaves from the vine'. I just love them! <3
Waiting for my deep pan pipes to arive... LOVE IT..hope I can play some good tunes out of it. Anyone has the deep pan pipes or video I can learn from?
I was wondering if anyone got the same problem or any tips on how to make it better:
When i play the lowest note i get some beatiful notes but when i go up towards the highest notes it either sound awful or it's some really unclear notes. espesially the 3 last ones, and theres 18 pipes.
Does anyone know what i should do or do my panflute basically suck?
in some versions you can drop pebbles in them and other ones you could melt wax into the bottom but if i were you i would do some more research on them and ways to tune them or else you might destroy them.
This is really good and suprisingly informative for such a short clip.
I have a CD of Native American drums and flutes for relaxation (those CDs you may find near the candle aisle in a store) and the large panpipe reminded me a lot of that particular sound. Is there any reason why particularly or is it just because they are all just different types of flutes?
Congratulations!!!! and thank you for such great tips on playing these lovely sound instruments. Do you know how to play the Bolivian Bombo? If so, come on...let us enjoy some of that too. Thank you and God bless you.

if your panflute leeks a bit on the button, does that affect how hard it can be to get sound from it? it only leeks a bit, not much :)

With the effect you have on the recording the sound of the air passing through the pipes is so clear and lovely!

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I am not musically-inclined. I'll end up buying a CD or getting my fill from iTunes.

@marnon95 Well I got mine since a few months and I would just say; practise
Play along, find a way to play those high tones, maybe experiment with breathing and stuff..
I got the same problem at the beginning but if your flute is okay you will note that you'll be getting better.
Hope that did help..
