This is my favorite truck once again! I want the 6.2L MAX trailering package! I wanna install a twin turbo system that should probably make out over 1500 HP and over 1500 ft lbs of torque! I also wanna give it new technology and I wanna make it speed over 240 MPH! I chose this truck again because the Ford F-150 Raptor had less fuel economy and more of an expensive price than this truck! I also work at a Chevy dealership, so I think I gotta have this truck!

Here's the story with this truck: rear drum brakes, a vinyl front bumper, an ancient frame and suspention design, a transmission cooler suitable for a radio-flyer toy wagon, a cheap, lousey, rattely interior, and, worse, ANCIENT, ANCIENT, ANCIENT in all areas. At best, it looks like a dressed up fleet truck. It's fucking ugly. I don't buy from those who choose to offer customer re-warmed 1990s styling and engineering.

GM better redesign this and offer a whole new engine line up, to compete with the 2011 Ford F150's new engine line ups, even the base 3.7 liter V6 Makes 300 Horse 275 pound/ft of torque, that is almost as good as GM's 5.3 Liter V8, I'm looking forward to Fords new 5.0 liter that makes 360 horse 380 lbs/ft of torque, even that new 3.5 liter eco boost looks promising.

just bought a 2010 Silverado WT with a 4.8. like it a lot, but i wish i would have got it in a standard trans. The motor delivers good power, pulls pretty good. I bet with just a cold air intake and a true dual exhaust with a power programmer i could unlock some extra ponies on the cheap. The only thing i hate about it is how weak the interior is. Its the basic set up just like a WT should be, but they tried to make it more "lux" and therefore everything looks like it would break pretty easy

@watso64 the reason they went back to drum brakes is because its the more reliable option. when they went to discs in the rear in 99 it was a faliure. the brakes would wear out too fast and were not very good for work. They went back to drums, i have no quams with them. the V6 is purely an old man option, a full size truck needs a V8. they are built pretty cheap on the inside though, and some of the bumpers have to be re-lined by the dealer because the factory put them on a bit crooked

I have a V6 in my ext-cab, it has 3.73 gears so its ok . My neighbor has a 98 V6 ext-cab with 3.45 gears and his is a dog, shockingly their are 12 Silverados in my neighborhood. 7 are V6 models 4 of them ext-cab V6 models. The only reason I got a V6 is because I got it alot cheaper, thats it. I'm guessing

The 1500 Silverado has to be about the worst example for a truck next to the Toyota Tundra. It is cheaply built, lacks a front crash stucture, and comes with rear drum brakes. The F-150 was, is, and always will be a far, far superior product and to deny this is to show your sheer stupidity to say the least. What F-150 does Silverado copies later. I had the misfortune of owning a 2008 and my new King Ranch is something chevy cannot dream about.

@jcobaltss2005 This catches all you Chevy cheerleaders off guard when I mention rear drum brakes. Of course your 2001 Sierra has 4-wheel disk. GM went back to standard rear drums in 2005 and continues to this day. Go have a look. 4-wheel disk brakes are optional equipment on current-generation 1500 GM trucks, otherwise they will have rear drums guaranteed.

thats to make the base price lower so they can be more competative cuz rear drums isnt something people are really concerned about when they buy a truck. anyways you have the option to order them with rear disks so dont be cheap and cough it up. have fun when the window motors on each window blows up and you windows stay down in the rain...i think people over do this car bashing shit cuz i have never had a problem with my gm car & truck and dont see many frequent problems in other makes

im in the same boat...f250s look great but if anything goes wrong with the motor you need to pull the cab off to work on it, not a great design. You also need a dpf delete for the diesel or else you will get 10mpg steady. I think the duramax is a much better truck, f250 looks a little nicer

My 2007 Chevy Silverado will probably be the last truck I need. These trucks drive awesome and just feel like they can handle anything. I've had it offroad and the 4WD pulls well with a locked rear diff. Chevy builds a great truck!

My dad has an '09 Silverado LT. And I compare it with my uncles 2006 Silverado and the dashboard in my uncles feels a lot better than the one in my dads. (Not to mention it's much easier to clean than the one in my dads truck). But all Chevys have interiors like that so I wasn't really that surprised.

Yeah, because they are somewhat lighter and more areodynamic than ford. When I first drove a ford, it ran pretty good but when my parents and i were in the truck together, I felt cramped. When we ride in my silverado, I don't feel cramped. I think fords are good trucks and if i had to drive one I would. But, I would prefer a Chevy because it is a good looking truck.

And i hear the new f150 is even more spacious, and the 11,300lbs it can tow is nice too.

Yea maybe thats it but idk. But yes i don't like toyota, toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai. Mainly because they're foreign and imo kill our economy when we are paying them for cars.The tundra, the commercials are misleading to people, they make it sound good but it doesn't even have a fully boxed frame, some trapezoidal thing. I only like ford and sometimes chevy. Dodge i don't care as the only cars they really sell are minivans. The dodge ram is a joke when a 5.7l hemi can only tow 9100 pounds.

I'm not a big fan of dodge trucks. The only dodge I kinda like is the caliber. Other than that, dodge doesn't really have anything. Gas guzzlers especially. I don't like those toyota commericals. They say they have better quality and lower cost of owner ship. Ha, who's gonna believe that? Any American car imo can kick toyotas ass. I've watched some durability tests between a ford f-150 and a tundra. Boy I'll tell you, the tundra can really shake its rear end. Who would want to buy a tundra?
