I've been thinking, maybe if the people doing these demos were able to play what they want to play, the review might be better. I mean in almost every demo I have seen, they always play clean blues stuff, but we all know that they want to crank the distortion on some of these guitars and play something heavy like Dio or SRV. Just sayin'...
Good guitar but bad review. had one of these in the early 90's. Mine had splitable humbuckers which activated when you pulled out the volume knobs. This gave a large variation of tonality, Why no mention of this??
this has got to be one of the worst demos. The amp sounds flat and the guy playing guitar looks retarded. Washburn should sue them, because he butchers the appeal of this guitar.
@515742617000027 Craigslist. Most hollows or semi-hollows will run you more than 300. Especially nice ones. However, Ibanez, I've been told gives good bang for ther buck. They don't compare to gretsch or like a Gibson 335. But they do the job. Just do some digging. Look at MusiciansFriens, Sweetwater, or Guitar Center website. GC will ship from store to store
i Just bought this guitar and it kicks butt i love it even the pick up's mine is Just like bill's in cherry red the gibson es 335 is good BUT i'll go for my HB-35 gibson's cost too much money besides i rather custom make my guitars like i have been dong for years having 40+ guitars now so i really enjoy my washburn HB-35 hollow body guitar mine came with 11"s on it by the way thanks bill for making a great guitar
You are kidding, right? The HB35 is currently listed new at £310 (£360 with the case), here, in the UK, and a cherry red Dot ES335 is currently listed for around £1500. There's a huge difference in the price.
they dont sound like this. i played one in the store plugged in and it sounds like he has his amps volume at 1 ( if it was like a ten watt solid state ) great action on this. these have the best necks ever
well, the guy is obviously not a guitarist, but rather a sales guy. He even got the description slightly wrong - it's a semi-hollow. These are actually pretty cool guitars for the price, and can be made to sound good and play well.
and yes i have every right to be a super guitar critic i worked for hill guitars ofr several years (hill is now the company that does all the custom dean work)
You are doing what you are suppose too! Showing and telling about the guitar. I have the same guitar that I bought from a friend some years back for $400, then changed out pickups to semour duncan hot rod set. That was a mistake. It sounds to thin. I hope to go back with same original style. Pay no attention to comments from PUNKS. They dont know any better. Cool Vid.
I have the same guitar and was thinkin of swappin the pickups to a seymour duncan hot rod set but you say they sound thin. What pickups would you recommend for this axe?
If you don't like something just go away. I didn't profess to being Clapton. I'm not a pissed off dude. You see, we all have the ability to express our opinion, and others' feelings towards that opinion is notwithstanding. We don't need to read your responses to negative comments, as it just feeds the fire. Step down and let your pride dissipate.
Oh hey it's FretKillr the famous Youtube acoutstic virtuoso. Guess what, movie critics throw crap at films even when they can't act. Good day to you, sir.
At least critics are performing a service. You're just complaining. You must be a real pissed off dude because there's thousands of beginners on youtube. At least they contribute videos. In this world there are people who are doers while others just watch and criticize. The gentleman in this clip is showing a guitar and doesn't profess to be Clapton. If you don't like something just go away. We don't need to read your negative comments. Step up and post a clip so we can return a comment.
Hats off to Mr. Fretkillr... Not only is he a truly great guitar GENIUS but from his comment I realize he's also a GREAT PERSON, which makes him an even greater artist. You're an inspiration to me and I hope to be able to play my guitar half a quarter of an ounze as well as you do someday.
I have the HB 32. I love it! It seems to have a wee bit darker sound to it, but I like it that way. The HB 35's' are fantastic as well. I highly recommend them

You know what might be really cool? Throw 2 TV jones Classics in there, or Classics Plus. Then, you'd some serious AC/DC jangle out of that thing.
